A very nice place to chill out and have a nice holiday

Cottage
Quirky cottage in rural location but a short drive to Bude. Good garden with vegetables and trampoline was a bonus. Beds comfortable. Owner was good to deal with - very responsive.
However it was top end on pricing for the internal specification and one bathroom with no separate toilet for a 3 bedroom house is not ideal.

Great location
We stayed here for two weeks.
Pros: Great location for exploring the lovely Cornish coastal villages. Very peaceful too. The cottage was spotless and the communication with the owner was very good. I felt they were on hand to answer any questions should I have needed it.
Cons: the cottage is very old so the walls and floors are not very well sound insulated so once one person was up in the morning, the whole house was up! Of course, not the owners fault, but something to bear in mind if you’re a light sleeper. Terrible shame that the fires cannot be lit. After a windy day on the beach it would have been lovely to light one. I’m a keen cook so I found the kitchen could have been better equipped.
Overall, a good stay and I would recommend

Gorgeous cottage
We had a great week in this beautiful cottage. It is well kitted out and in a lovely location.
Naomi couldn’t have been more helpful when we mentioned a problem with the loo - she got it fixed straight away.
We would love to come back another time.

Peaceful but everything you need is still only a walk away
Had a lovely week in this cosy but very spacious cottage. It's in a peaceful location but Bude is still only a 20 minute walk. Cottage is well equipped including a gorgeous bath. Dining area is a fantastic size too.

Nice cottage half an hour walk from the beach
Very clean
Nice welcome basket
Cool toys for the kids in a chest
Nice garden
Kitchen surfaces require much care, wood that does not like to get any humidity
Some more pans, pots etc. would have been good for family of four,
basic things like salt and pepper as well.
We would have found it much easier, if detergents for washing machine and dish washer had been provided. The house is not connected to the sewer system and requires specific detergents.
Overall very enjoyable stay, and the house was really as clean as possible.
Thank you.

Quirky!
A very spacious cottage especially as we were just two people. The listing describes it as 'quirky' which is a good description but it definitely grew on us, even the sloping floors. The interior of the cottage was very well-equipped; things turned up in unlikely places! The master bed was very comfortable (I checked the brand of pillows as I definitely want to get the same for myself). Loved the shower but found it tricky to open the bathroom window as the blinds had to be left down because the window ledge was in use for all our toiletries, etc. (An extra shelf/small cabinet would be useful). Outside, we enjoyed sitting on the front lawn in the evenings soaking up the last rays of the sun. It would have been nice to have breakfast in the back garden but there wasn't a table. The location is great; a 25 min walk into Bude down quiet lanes and across the golf course was the perfect excuse to have a cream tea as the walk is uphill on the return! The walk across to the pub is 10 min max and we were lucky enough to be in the area for the village Cuckoo and Revel Fair - a traditional country fair with a dog show, children's races, coconut shy, brass band, stalls, etc - followed by a meal in the pub. We only ventured further afield by car on the one day of poor weather, the rest of the time we spent walking and exploring. There are a lot of things we didn't get around to seeing/doing and we were sad to leave after just a week.

Lovely
The cottage was lovely. With only 3 of us in it, it felt massive. And so much history surrounding it, it really was a great place to stay. There was everything we needed for our stay. Kitchen was fully equipped and bathroom had a fantastic shower! And it was spotlessly clean. We walked in to Bude a few times (approx 40 mins). The beaches in Bude were brilliant. We also ventured further afield to the Eden Project and Padstow (an hour away by car). All in all we would definitely love to go back.

Roomy cottage in Poughill
Very quiet, peaceful location in the village with nice garden for children, and great being close to Bude and the local beaches.
Local pub 8 to 10 minute walk away......footpath crosses a field.
Good size rooms & comfortable beds.....with plenty of cupboard space.
Be aware, just one loo .......in the bathroom.
Would have preferred more cutlery, crockery & mugs as there were times when we were short, because they were in the dishwasher !
A disappointment was no fire was to be to be lit in the lounge, and yet the details show a picture of a roaring fire !
Overall......a good time had by all :)

Beautiful cottage, in a beautiful setting
Me and my family just got back from a wonderful weeks holiday staying at this beautiful cottage. The cottage comes with everything you need. It’s so cute and cosy my children didn’t want to go home! The neighbour is so friendly and said she enjoyed listening to the children playing in the gardens. I can’t say a bad word about the whole experience. We enjoyed some wonderful days out at all the local beaches, and particularly enjoyed the restaurant on Crooklets beach called Rosie’s. It’s well worth a visit 😍👌🏻 The local town shops are lovely, We brought some lovely bits and pieces. My children also had a lovely day at the local swimming pool which has a wave machine and they said it was amazing! We would definitely stay here again and hope to do so in the future. Thankyou Ross and Naomi for letting us stay in your beautiful holiday home 😊

Surpassed our expectations!
This cottage oozes character, once you get used to the slopping floors and creaking floorboards we loved it! Attention to detail, clean and lots of space. We made use of all the outside areas, great bbq and sitting round the chimeria in the evening was lovely. Some great beaches and restaurants around Bude. Would definitely recommend this quiet, tucked away gem!.

Upon arrival, I was taken back by the size, space and well thought out layout of the cottage.
A gem of a property, in a very quiet location, both peaceful and relaxing yet just over 5 minutes drive to all you would want in a seaside town. My family and I enjoyed our weeks stay the owners had thought of everything 10 out of 10 to them, it was a very enjoyable experience.

A Relaxing holiday in a beautiful Cornish cottage
We arrived at our holiday cottage on the outskirts of Bude in need of a good holiday. This lovely, cosy, authentic Cornish cottage ticked all the boxes, we walked in and immediately felt at home. The cottage is a delight, very comfortable, clean and furnished well. The gardens are a good size and there are sea glimpses, we walked to the beach and the town, a pretty walk down quiet country lanes. The local pub across a field is very welcoming and the food really good, especially the Sunday roast and fish & chips. They hold a quiz evening in the week and occasionally live music at the weekend.
We would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing holiday in Cornwall
