House was not clean upon arrival. Had to sweep the house, clean master bathroom, excessive mold in the shower and mold in the washer. Holes in the walls in the house. Kitchen/dining room area ceiling caving in due to water damage. Could not park in garage (listed as being able to use) Garage doors broken and falling off the tracks. Cowboy pool was filthy and not usable until the 5th day of our 6 day stay. Pool pump wasn't even connected, it was in the garage. Boat dock & lift were not usable and lift did not work. (Confirmed ahead of time that this available and working as we brought a boat 800 miles. No boat ramp access key was left which is also listed as available. We were told to drive somewhere else to a public boat ramp. Very inconvenient as it is miles away. Communication from Host/BeachBox was non existent. They flat out did not care! We chose this house for use of the double garage, pool, boat dock/lift and use of boat ramp. None of these were available. There were over 15 phone calls made and messages to host to get these things corrected with no concern on their part. Overall the house is beautiful but in dire need of maintenance and cleaning. Think twice before renting this house. You do NOT get what is advertised!

Pros: This is a great spot for fishing. It's on the open bay and has a lighted pier and deck with plenty of space for 4-6 people to fish at the same time. The outside upper decks have tall chairs to watch the outstanding sunset views. Cons: This home is in serious need of maintenance and updating. We went in August, and when we arrived, the AC in the master bedroom wasn't working; it was 90 degrees in there. A tech came out within a couple hours, but it took a long time to cool down. We had to call about the AC again the next day as well. The ceiling fans in the living room weren't working, which also made it difficult to keep it cool in that room. I suspect that the cleaning crew is trying to cut corners; several of us noticed that the sheets did not seem clean. There were hairs on the sheets, and one of the beds had crumbs in it. We started washing bedding and found that the washer only works on certain cycles. We tried to cook one day and found that neither the oven nor cooktop would reach the right temperatures. My brother and niece both saw roaches in the bedroom closets. The ceiling was in need of repair in more than one place. One of the reasons we picked this house was because of the screened-in porch, but when we got there, the screen was torn and hanging down. Property management was very responsive, but it put a damper on things for me to have to contact them so much. This house has so much potential with a little TLC.

In my opinion this house should not be available for rent. The house was not clean, smelled of mildew, there were water spots on the ceiling with deteriorating dry wall. There was a hole in the wall. One of the garage doors was broken and partially stuck open. Wall insulation lying on the floor. The patio area had debris that looks like it was left over from the hurricane. The shower had black mold/mildew. The Screened in patio had ripped screens and was unusable. The seal on the oven was burned and partially missing. Some of the electrical plugs came out of the wall when trying to unplug hair dryer. The house was full of mosquitoes and ants. Several of the banisters were loose on the stair case. We contacted Vrbo and the management company (Beach Box) which was extremely difficult and spoke with several different people that kept promising to call us back with a resolution, ( we are still waiting for those promised call back) after several hours of being on the phone both Vrbo and the management company both promised refunds. Vrbo and the management company were little to no help to get us relocated, we had to search and book a new place ourselves. We moved to a new property to save our vacation. Several days later both Vrbo and the management company called to say they now had to investigate further and were unsure if we would get our refund. It has been better than a week now and we are still waiting for final resolution. It's sad when people lie to you to make a buck

The home we were supposed to stay in, (the one in this picture), they told us the night before that it was unavailable due to "maintenance" and said they had another property that would be equivalent. With it being such short notice, we agreed with the move. But when we got there, the house they moved us to was filthy and unacceptable. AC didn't work in one of the rooms. Holes in the walls. Dirty all over. Stains on the carpet. Locks not working. We would not stay there. We called the host and they apologized and said they would "probably" refund us. But had to talk to the manager the next day. So we spent the next hour on the phone with VRBO trying to decide what do to. VRBO was willing to put us up in a hotel for a couple of nights while we found another property, but we had tons of groceries that needed refrigeration. We had to scramble to find another house through another site. We currently have a case with VRBO to get a full refund. The host is unwilling to refund anything. Complete fraud.

If you are looking for a house strictly based on location, this place was a winner. Being directly on the water and 3 minutes from beach access was what made the stay. Just about everything else was just okay, and i dont feel that is okay based on the price point per night. Upon arrival we discovered one of the garage doors completely broken and falling off the tracks. We were never able to get it to close, and didnt love that we couldnt lock our stuff in the garage. There was a large fist sized hole in the wall outside of the master bedroom. The house needs a lot of work, there are water stains and cracks in the ceiling from previous water damage. The paint on the walls, hand rails, etc all badly needs a fresh coat. Pretty bad stains on the rug in the living room. One of the king size beds had such a hole in it from over use that you really couldnt sleep on it. Better off on the couch. The photos are not accurate to what is actually there. The boat sling was not operational, and i even personally inquired about it and was told we could use...we couldn't. Lastly, one of the columns that holds up the dock was completely broken and the dock was floating in the water in that corner....extremely dangerous. We had a contractor talk to us from next door who said that dock has been like this for over a year and he offered to fix it and was turned down. I firmly believe that if you are paying close to 1k per night, issues like this should not exist.
