This place is so much more than a cottage! Once inside you feel like you've stepped into a true vacation home, stocked with anything you could possibly need. Quirky and fun! The Master bedroom and sitting room made you feel like Royalty. The hosts have a spirit of excellence and couldn't be more attentive. I'm so grateful we chose the WOW Cottage to celebrate our 45th Anniversary week! If we ever return to Mt Dora we will definitely be returning to this treasure!

The WOW cottage was exceptional!! We were in town for the Beach Volleyball national championships in Tavares. The cottage could not have been any better. It was fantastic!! Highly recommend it to anyone!!

We so enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Unbelievable decor, and such special detail for every spot in the house. Every turn you make you find something new that makes this house very special. It is equipped with everything you need. The location is wonderful. It is five minutes from town and all the great restaurants.

From the moment we arrived, to the day we sadly left the wows kept coming from this picturesque 1922 cottage nestled in the heart of Mount Dora's Historic District. This 1922 cottage seamlessly blends old-world charm with modern convenience. The owners, who also brought us "The Modern Tree House" and "The Fisherman's Cottage," have left no detail unattended. The cottage boasts state-of-the-art amenities, including motion-sensor trash cans and stainless steel appliances. Antique instruments, a 1904 baby grand piano, and Mackenzie-Childs art accents add character. Wooden shutters, original art, and quirky lighting make this meticulously restored home feel like a work of art. This was our third year staying in a property hosted by Liz and Lee. The first year in the Fisherman’s Cottage and the following two years at the WOW Cottage. This should tell you all you need to know, however let me say a few details about these properties and hosts. Liz and Lee go above and beyond to welcome you like no others. The properties are spotless. The linens and towels are five star quality. The beds are very comfy. The kitchen is equipped beyond anything you will ever need. The decor is fun and interesting. We are delighted to discover new whimsical items each year! Oh, I almost forgot! The location is prefect. We park our cars and walk into town for great shopping, coffee, dinner, and cocktails. You will be very happy staying at The Wow Cottage or any other property hosted by Liz and Lee.

The “Wow cottage” was just fantastic!! Mt Dora is a delight to visit and the “Wow cottage” was simply the
most wonderful place to stay. Our host could not have been anymore accommodating or nice. Everything we could have needed or wanted was there for us. The host (best one ever) provided all sorts of info about the area. Suggestions for restaurants and even updates on some incoming weather were sent to us during our stay. I can not even begin to describe the home. I simply do not have the words. There were delightful surprises in every corner and nook of the cottage. It was simply a wonderful adventure to explore and discover day after day. My family just loved our stay at the aptly named “Wow cottage”.

This cottage is amazing! Beautiful, clean, great location. The cottage has everything in the kitchen you could need. The beds are so comfortable. This whole experience is "Wow!" This place is simply fantastic. And these hosts...truy fabulous! One wants for absolutely nothing once you've arrived at the WOW Cottage.
You feel like a king and queen laid up in one of their outstanding beds or sprawled out on a 12 foot sumptuous velvet couch while listening to the baby grand that you yourself might even be playing!
I don't want to use up my space listing all the ways you'll be amazed. And you will be. But mostly it brings out a feeling of joy. There's a surprise in every corner. Go stand in them. You'll be swinging your head in every direction. To me it's akin to being at an exotic bazaar, You'd need to be rained in for a entire week to appreciate all that is here.
It is the ultimate Mount Dora accommodation offering a true old-fashioned Florida feel...with top of the line modern conviences, of couse. Pictures can't do this gem justice, but neither can words. You gotta experience this for yourself.
How these hosts have managed to wrap luxury into a laid-back comfy, home feel encased in quirky, artsy fun I'll never know. Be prepared for the opportunity to exist in artwork. Wow.
The only bad thing is that once you've been here your expectations of a Vrbo will never again be met. This was my 2nd visit and I was sadly unable to book at Christmas. Luckily they had the "Modern Tree House" available. (Yay I get to experience another of these amazing hosts properties! Yahoo!)

What a great house . It takes about an hour and a half to review the cool things in the house . It is truly and adventure just to stay there if you like antiques and fun furnishings .

The WOW house was just a fun & unique place & my friend & I enjoyed it so much. The hosts couldn’t have been better, so accommodating & helpful in every way. The kitchen had top of the line appliances, beautiful dishes & more. Everywhere you look is decor that is fun & so different. Nice quiet location, & free shuttle to downtown. Take the historic tour. We had such an amazing vacation at "The Wow Cottage" we extended our stay! The decor is such an incredible mix of elegant and quirky with an eclectic mix of art...much of which is not shown in the listing...which makes it feel like a treasure hunt of fun things to discover, even in the most unexpected places! I won't even tell you what's next to the "Laugh" sign above the entry door...I'll leave it for you to find (definitely a house of laughter!) It's clear these hosts want you to have an "experience" when you come here and this is a place you will never ever forget for the rest of your life! You definitely have to see it to believe it (or read all the other reviews that say the same!) A spectacular one-of-a-kind place not to be missed!!

The Wow Cottage is a spiritual experience! It is a peaceful house filled with so much joy and loads of character and is an adventure all on its own! You can tell that the owners are passionate about this place and that it was created with love! It's absolutely the jewel of Mount Dora and definitely a place you need to experience for yourself!

We have stayed at many vacation rentals. Liz was the best host EVER!!! She is simply amazing and cares so much that your stay is the best it can be. The house is a destination in itself. It has so many items of interest, we spent a lot of time enjoying the musical instruments, the large picture travel l books she made herself and the endless list of knock knacks were a real treat. She promotes the cottage as the "WOW" cottage but it goes way beyond that. Location to downtown Mt. Dora is perfect. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, safe. There isn't a single amenity missing and she left us such a sweet welcoming note. If you're going to Mt. Dora and size wise this house fits, it needs to be your first choice. We will be staying there from now on, which is my strongest recommendation and no, I am not related to Liz. Her house and hosting are simply top drawer. ,

This cottage certainly lived up to its name. This 1922 cottage had such eclectic style. The theme was carried out from the furniture to all the accessories. There were unique vintage musical instruments along with a piano. Unique items are everywhere for you to investigate and explore. The kitchen had all modern accessories such as a blender, mixer, food processor, toaster, and so much more. The cabinets were full of every item you may need at your stay. You just need to bring your food. The host was amazing! Very responsive, kind, and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and places to see. They helped to make the "surprise" birthday weekend for my husband a great one! The area is quiet and very close to downtown for shopping and trying new restaurants. The hosts have thought of every detail to make your stay a fascinating one. If you are considering staying at this cottage, just do it. You will be so glad you did. We will definitely be back!

This was our third time staying at the “WOW” Cottage, and we continued to be wowed! The owners, Liz and Lee, go all out in ensuring their vacationers are comfortable and pampered on their vacations to Mt Dora! We already feel that their cottage is like a home away from home for us — we thoroughly enjoy Mt Dora and look to return at least once, if not twice, a year!
The place is sparkling clean, beautifully and uniquely decorated, comfortable, and VERY well supplied; if you forget anything, don’t worry, Liz sees to it just about everything is there - even the proverbial (and actual) kitchen sink!
Lee always leaves organic fresh eggs, and one time even brought us some organically raised fresh tilapia, explained how to best cook it, and which was delicious indeed! In addition, I must remark that they are the kindest, most thoughtful, considerate owners we have had the experience with which to deal. Lovely folks indeed!
If you are looking for a convenient, near to town (walking distance), lovely place to stay on a visit to Mt Dora, I cannot recommend another place more highly! You won’t be sorry!

There is a reason this place is called the "Wow Cottage" with the many treasures in this well-curated home. This was our first visit to Mount Dora and we loved this place--had the best experience imaginable. The house is a rare gem that is both close to downtown (within walking distance) and VERY quiet. The hosts literally thought of everything a guest might need. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Mount Dora and we'll be back for sure.

This place is an absolute delight! I can't say the number of times I actually said "Wow!" while staying at this gem. I did know there was a baby grand but was surprised by all the instruments stashed throughout the cottage. Wait till you find them. You'll be giggling, strumming, banging or plucking something before you know it.
The 1922 house is an impeccably clean, eclectic mix of old fashioned elegance and modern convenience. Funky and fab collide to make this artistic cottage a head snapping delight that pulls you here and there with its museum quality furnishings and decorations. Think great-grandmas creaking front door meets a skylight in the ensuite master bath and candy apple red kitchen accessories. Your senses are delighted at every turn. There are impossibly white, soft sheets awaiting you along with thick, spa worthy towels. Lots of thoughtful toiletries. Large TVs and long, luxurious, deep cushioned couches. Let's not even get started on the mattresses. Everything you sit or lay on makes you feel like royalty. The best of everything...in a rental. Wow, who does that?
Then there's the kitchen. You got it...nothing but the best. Loaded with lots of cookware you'd have at your own home. Along with a Keurig and assorted pods there are delicious snacks left with a welcoming note. Every cabinet you open has you again saying "Wow!" All the little things they thought to leave you in case you needed them. Quality things. I assume you've already read about the fresh, organic blue eggs. I mean Wow, who does that?
Upon arrival I texted Liz that I felt like I was at an adult Disney running from one room to the next to see something else. Then I assured her I wasn't running in her house. She texted back that I should go ahead and run...that we should all play and laugh more. Well, shortly after I found the horse on a stick. All bets were off. The galloping had begun.
We spent a lot of time on the porch. That porch swing is so soothing. The back patio is fabulous for a squirrel and bird show. But this cottage is so much more than just a place to stay. There is so much to explore and see here. Of course Mount Dora is a delight. But the cottage is truly a destination in itself. There is an air of fun at this Vrbo that we've never before had the privilege to experience. It is with gratitude that we say thank you for ALL you have done to make the Wow Cottage such a joy. Everyone - this is a MUST experience rental!

the wonderful and comfortable antique furnishings to the perfect porch and location. The kitchen is so well done as are the bathrooms (stocked with fantastic soap and shampoo and towels galore). A 5 minute walk to anyplace in historic downtown Mt. Dora. And the hosts are extremely responsive with any need or question. LOVED it and will book with them again for sure!!!!

We just loved the “Wow” cottage! We stayed for a long weekend and we still can’t stop talking about it. Liz has gone above and beyond to make sure nothing is overlooked to make your stay perfect. The attention to detail far surpassed any rental we have ever had. The location is perfect, a quick walk to historic downtown Mount Dora. There are so many wonderful restaurants and delightful shops. We loved just walking after dinner and seeing all the historic cottages….each one is so different. We are already talking about when we can play a return trip. This was a trip to remember…thank you Liz and Lee for the memories!

This was our 2nd year in the WOW cottage and we, again, felt right at home. The house is well appointed with modern appliances and tv's, yet it has the quaint feel of another time with everything from a baby grand piano to incredible furnishings. Liz and Lee are incredible hosts and so many things were available to us, including a gas grill, bikes, and a well stocked kitchen with coffee, snacks and kitchen supplies.
We have already booked for next year! We would highly recommend this VRBO because of the hospitality and its location.
