Summers in Nendaz seem to be a well kept secret. Hiring mountain bikes from the local ski hire shop and as with the skiing in Nendaz, as easy or demanding as you want it to be. Ski: With 92 different lifts serving 412 km of marked runs (and a wealth of off-piste), there's plenty in the 4 Valleys to keep skiers and boarders of all abilities occupied for many a season, and you can ski all the way down to the resort during the entire season. During the summer, you will find 200 km of hiking paths that run past the streams (Bisses) in the mountains. Nendaz is located in one of the largest ski regions in Europe, the 4 valleys together with Verbier, Veysonnaz and Thyon. 400 km of slopes with 94 cable cars. Spend a ski day without using the same slope twice. The Mont-Fort at 3330 m above sea level is the centre of the ski region. The snow conditions are always excellent. Furthermore, it fulfils the requirements of the 'free riders' looking for freedom, untouched nature and powder snow. In Nendaz, 'free riding' has been a part of the local culture for years. In March every year Nendaz host a World Cup qualifier event in Freeriding. Tracouet with its frozen lake provides the optimal environment for beginners and children. Haute Nendaz is popular for walking, hiking, mountain biking, skate-boarding, rock climbing, etc. Many of the ski lifts are open in Summer and bikes can be taken on the lifts free between June - September. There is an outdoor swimming pool in Nendaz, and spa baths at Saillon. Golf: 18 hole Golf Course 20 minutes away at Sion and also Crans Montana is not far away where European Tour host a tournament every September.
