This was our third stay here and it never disappoints. This is the perfect place to escape into a serene and beautiful location. We love this cabin more each time we visit and can’t wait to return.

Wonderful setting in the woods, privacy was fabulous. Treehouse setting with large deck and lots of birds and squirrels.
Fully equipped kitchen, warm wood stove, and comfy furniture and beds were a delightful.
Access to other amenities was easy and walking back roadways invigorating. We definitely plan to come back in the future.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lodge.

We had the most relaxing and peaceful time! Phyllis was accommodating and her home had a welcoming atmosphere. It was so scenic and comfortable and cozy. We had plans to do more hiking but wound up opting for shorter hikes so we could spend more time at the cabin because we enjoyed it so much. We brought our own food and I was thankful that she had everything we needed for cooking all of what we brought. I truly wanted for nothing. It was an ideal weekend! Wish we could have stayed longer!

My wife and I could’ve stayed here for a week or more. It couldn’t have been more peaceful or comfortable. We cannot wait to return. The host was very responsive.

Highly recommend!!! The deck lights were on when we arrived and welcomed us wamly! Every detail was perfect! Phyillis has a stunning, secluded, cozy, comfortable, well equipped home. We wanted to get away from the "world" to have a more Christ-filled Christmas this year and we DID!! Breathtaking nature surrounded us, evidencing God's creation. The silence was healing. We felt right at home and hope to return to experience it in another season.

When we arrived, the door was not completely shut so we didn't need the lock box to get in. However we did use the key after that and it was easy to figure out the lock box.
We loved our stay in every way. The place is exactly how it is described. Plenty of wood for the fantastic wood stove!!!
Easy access to bedrooms and bathrooms.
Really a charm!
Thank you to Phyllis, the host, for being so available by text and phone and being so accommodating. We will be back!!

My husband, 3-year-old daughter, and I booked a very last minute getaway to this one-of-a-kind rental. As soon as we walked in, my daughter exclaimed, "Ok, this place is AMAZING!" and she celebrated her first ever cabin trip with joy and awe, the whole time we were there. The home has been in the owner's family since its original construction in the 70s, bathrooms and decor renovated since Covid...honestly, the story of how special this place has been to so many guests immediately endears you to it, and you can feel the generational heart and soul while you're there. A bird-feeder just outside draws woodpeckers, fun-loving squirrels, and a plethora of birds to the porch, where they can safely be observed through the floor-to-ceiling windows. It's so clean. It's so beautiful. The beds are comfortable. This would be an IDEAL rental for two couples sharing the place for a trip away, because there are two bedrooms with the respective bathrooms en suite, on either side of the shared main space. The fireplace is unique. The architecture is expertly designed. Oh! And there is not a single thing we thought we might need that we didn't immediately and easily find, and then some! We loved everything about it. Will definitely come back. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Phyllis' property is exactly as described. The deck is incredibly spacious - we spent most of our time there admiring the woodsy landscape (and squirrels & birds!). The bedrooms and living area are impressively clean and well-equipped for a group of 4. We had a cozy, relaxing weekend and can't wait to return!

Not only is the home beautiful, but the surrounding woods and rolling hills of this remote location are also stunning. Just loved being surrounded by nature. We enjoyed visiting House on the Rock and Spring Green. Also enjoyed peaceful walks with our dog.

This was our second time staying at Phyllis' beautiful home and it was just a peaceful and romantic as we remembered. One of our favorite places in the midwest!

It was a fantastically cozy space to celebrate with friends.

My second time staying at this lovely house. Fall is a perfect time to visit. It was warm enough to have a drink and relax on the deck, chilly enough to enjoy the wood stove in the evening. Went hiking at Governor Dodge state park, cooked dinner and relaxed at the house. Loved being able to bring my dog. Thank you for providing such a perfect spot for a short vacation!

The House allowed us a location close enough to attend classes and keep our basset hound with us. We would stay here again.

This house is so inviting and cozy. It's off the road, so you only hear sounds of nature. The kitchen is well equipped. Perfect for two couples to hang out and enjoy watching the critters that inhabit the oak canopy.

This is our 3rd stay at Phyllis' cabin. Each time, it has been spotlessly clean, well-stocked, and just beautiful. The surroundings are totally magic, and the windows into the woods provide stunning views, no matter where you look or what the season. The entire area is just wonderful. We hate to praise it too much; we want to be able to rent it often! We feel so grateful to have access to this retreat.

We loved our stay at this property. Secluded, but close enough to go out to local restaurants and other activities. Gorgeous surroundings and the host has thought of everything a person could need. Cozy and romantic.

The home was exactly like it was pictured. Beautiful home in nature just like Frank Lloyd Wright would want it. Enjoyed our stay and made our weekend celebration even more special, just being there in the woods, in a peaceful home, with nature.

This was the perfect spot for us, close to all the places and friends we wanted to visit. The kitchen was fully equipped and we were ate dinner every night at the big table. Our breakfasts were spent watching the bird activity and planning our day. In fact, the first day we were back out on the road and staying at a hotel, it just didn't seem right. What we especially liked was that both bedrooms had its own bath providing extreme privacy. All in all a lovely relaxing experience that we will revisit in our hearts and hopefully at another moment in time.

This house is perfect. The surrounding is so serene, quiet that you forget about the rest of the world. You can hear the silence, you can drink it while sitting on the porch and counting the stars. The owner thought of everything - every little detail, the house was very clean, pantry fully stocked, coffee waiting for us. You feel you are far away yet you are very close to the civilization. Museums, theater, hiking, water sports - all very close. I would have like to stay longer, so much to do, so many things to enjoy without leaving the house. Thank you, Phyllis!

This is our 2nd visit and it was just as lovely and peaceful. Everything about the house was as expected. Tank on grill was empty and Phylis had us a new one in no time letting us enjoy a wonderful meal! Our dogs love coming here as much as we do. We will be back!

This is a beautiful home in a gorgeous, woodland location. It is convenient, as we used it as a base for visiting Spring Green, APT, Mineral Point and New Glarus. There is so much to like, but my favorites were the well stocked kitchen and pantry, and the dining room table overlooking the deck and bird feeder. This is a gem.

It’s the perfect getaway spot for a peaceful and secluded retreat. Yet it is close enough to both natural and man-made attractions.

This is a great place! Just exactly what we were looking for😊 Everything was very clean. My husband’s favorite place was the deck - it felt like being in a tree house!
We chose this area because we were taking our granddaughter to the House on the Rock as a little before school trip. The house was perfect for us.
It is such a peaceful and quiet place. We love bird-watching, and we definitely got to see a lot of birds coming to the bird feeder on the deck.
We loved the feel of the house and the furnishings. Very relaxing.
Great kitchen, and well stocked. We had everything we needed 😊
It was a bit challenging for us to get there from our home in Iowa. The cell service was very unreliable and spotty. But we were prepared with directions printed out, and when we got closer to Avoca, it was easy to find the house.
We would Definitely love to return again!

We really enjoyed this beautiful property and home. The big deck was a perfect place to relax. It was like being in a tree house. Spring Green is close enough to do stuff like grocery shopping and outdoor activities like kayaking. Great place!

A beautiful, well-appointed 'tree house.' Lovely place, lovely location, lovely stay. No detail for comfort is overlooked. It is a must-stay and is on our list of must-stay-again places. Well done to the owner, and thank you for sharing your wonderful home.

Beautiful and well stocked home in a secluded green wooded area with a large deck for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings--including an amazing variety of birds. Designed by a FLW student and near Wright's home Taliesan. Well appointed house for all seasons of the year.
Lots of opportunities in the area for hiking as well!

We just enjoyed a three-night stay at this amazing property - everything exceeded our expectations! From the artfully arranged bouquet awaiting us to the hours we spent unwinding on the special "treehouse deck," we absolutely loved it. The house itself was so uniquely designed, and the hosts provided thoughtful accoutrements for comfort. The beds & pillows were comfortable, the towels thick and cozy, the closets well-stocked with extra blankets, and the kitchen had the tools and dishes needed to cook a full meal on the grill. We loved watching a large storm roll in from our birds' eye view on the deck. The fireflies were magical, and we loved the variety of birds visiting the feeder. We would love to visit in winter, when we might build a fire in the unique woodstove (it was 90 degrees when we visited, but the A/C kept us cool and comfortable). We so appreciate such wonderful dog-friendly accommodations! Highly recommended.

The house is located in a beautiful wooded area about a 15 minute drive to Taliesin. The house is spacious, clean, and has everything that you will need. Plus pets are allowed, both cats and dogs. Upon entering, you will be greeted with a woods view with lots of birds and squirrels which are attracted by the bird feeder on the large front desk. The house is homey feeling and not sterile like many rentals. Phyllis, the owner, responds quickly to your correspondence and gives you check-in information several days before your stay rather than waiting till the day of your arrival to provide the information. I highly recommend this rental.

Clean, comfortable bed (only used bed with patio door) well stocked. A lot of varieties of birds. Squirrels unfortunately hogged the bird feeder usually. Nice to get away from the noise of traffic, sirens and the hustle and bustle of the cities. Good communication with owner. Private and quiet.

great comfortable secluded place to relax in the hills. loved it here. favorite part was probably waking up and hanging out on the deck with all the birds. plenty of things to do in the area for the outdoorsy type.

We needed a few days to get away just far enough from Chicago and we found it! Perfect getaway. Perched on a hill, the huge terrace meets a beautiful oak tree and you almost feel as if you’re in a treehouse. Beautifully quiet with the exception of a delightful circus of birds and the rustling of the trees in the wind. Clean, spacious yet cozy. Lovely paths for peaceful walks, fresh air/ perfect place to slowly prepare delicious meals while enjoying beautiful views, indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing, chatting and just taking in the surrounding beauty.
