Location. Difficulty in finding transportation

The view is breathtaking from the balcony, the facilities were lovely and clean and it was the most amazing place to stay during our time in Capri.
To be honest we were happy with everything. We read the comments from 2022 previous reviews but that was not our experience staying here.

The views are heavenly and the property is just a couple minutes from Capri town
The stairs up to it are challenging but I used it them as my exercise and justification for eating pizza & pasta lol

The view. Spacious room.
The ramps.

The view
The road access was dangerous and the stairs difficult to manage as they were steep and many.
The room furniture was outdated and there wasn’t enough space for 2 suitcases.
The room could have being cleaner. The floor was unswept.
The television was outdated and the wifi was non existent in room.
Crossiants and breakfast cake were stale not fresh daily.
Taxis or Catching a bus was difficult because of position on road had to hire a scooter as a means of transport to and from anacapri. Overall this accommodation needs a total renovation to make it comfortable for travellers.

The views were phenomenal!
The staff weren't very organized. Mind you, we showed up a bit earlier due to our ferry times, which was communicated with the host. The host was not there to receive us, so the initial room provided to us in error. Once we settled in to the room and left to grab lunch, we were contacted by the host about the error. All of our belongings including what we had in the safe had to be handled by the host and moved to the right room, so this was not ideal resulting in some back & forth about some items left in the old room that belonged to us. Also felt the communication with the host was forced, no local recommendation or support with booking taxi was provided, we had to proactively search or ask for this detail from the host.

Great location, with amazing views. Nice breakfast and helpful and discreet staff.

The view.
Let’a start with the run down property, continue with the poor breakfast, which on our final day we were told “that in 09:30 there are no left croissants and two people have to share one small croissant.” There is one smell in the room that if you are not sleeping on an open window is impossible to sleep but if you are with open window everyone can see you directly because it is a ground floor and without curtains!
We booked the property because of the sofa with view but you could see what is left from the sofa …

beautiful view, very comfortable, clean
Local buses fill up and don’t stop at the local bus stop during peak travel times for local workers. good to know so you can plan accordingly.

The accomodation itself is beautiful, quintessential Capri style. The views are amazing and super quiet area. The breakfast in the morning is basic, but good, with home made pastries.
The property’s location isn’t great. The only way to get to town is either walk (on roads with no path that are quite dangerous) bus (the closest bus stop isn’t well known and you have to specifically ask the bus driver if they’ll stop there - not the easiest with a language barrier) or taxi which is minimum 20 euros each time.
The house keeper wasn’t the friendliest. Whether it was a language or cultural barrier I’m not sure, but she snapped a few times at my partner and I for simply making a coffee at breakfast. There was also a lot of yelling coming out of the kitchen one night in Italian which sounded like an argument.
Overall, I would suggest to stay closer to Capri or on the Marina Piccola side of the island.

Views were absolutely stunning- property is located halfway between Capri and Anacapri with gorgeous views of the marina and Capri town. The terrace was a perfect place for evening drinks or picnic. The building feels like a country villa and is filled with interesting country decoration. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast included delicious home baked pastries.
The property is on a steep road between Capri and Anacapri with lots of traffic and no room to walk safely. There are frequent buses which stop a short walk from the gate. I believe the location would be very difficult for anyone older or with children. At night it could be quite dangerous. It was not possible to go for a walk or to get to town without using the bus. There are many stairs to the property which made carrying luggage quite difficult.
The hostess seemed quite grumpy and appeared to snap at guests, perhaps a language barrier problem. The shower is very small which could be a problem for larger guests.

I really wanted to love this place, the location is incredible and Gianfranco was very helpful when we checked in but that, unfortunately, is as far as the good points went.
The room was damp and smelt of mold/mildew, the bed was damp, the crockery was not clean. It was raining when we arrived so the garden furniture was covered - they should have left it covered; it was falling apart.
At breakfast the lady was curt because we were helping ourselves to coffee from the Nespresso machine and she insisted on doing it. I don't know who said the breakfast is good, it's nothing special.

The villa is adorably situated, very high up with a fantastic view. This is the accommodation's major – and only – asset. The owner Gianfranco was very friendly when we met him when we just arrived, then - unfortunately - we didn't see him any more during the days we stayed at the accommodation.
When we found that the linens in our bed were not clean and not changed since the previous guests checked out (yuk) and asked for clean bedding or another room we got t-o-t-a-l-l-y scolded by the cleaning staff (one person) unbelievably rude. A most unpleasant experience. The same staff/person was “serving” at breakfast, muttering and giving sour looks and with no doubt showing what she thought about us – guest in the villa (and paying her salary). Unbelievable.
In the information about the villa you find nothing about the 50's very steep steps that you have to climb up from the road to get to the villa. Extremely difficult with a heavy suitcase. The information says "american breakfast" but that was not the case - we got coffee, juice, toast, butter and marmalade. And sour looks for free☹

The location provides stunning views over Capri which are impressive by day and nighttime. Ensconced into the hillside this gem delivers a unique experience, ideal for a quiet evening absorbing the scenery. The owner messaged us on arrival, helped us by providing useful information and was the friendliest host of our 4 stays in Italy. Breakfast was well catered with home baked goods and ample choice. The shower deserves a mention ;-)
Easy walking distance to Capri centre, albeit on the slightly crazy Italian roads however you get used to dealing with the traffic. Anacapri is also walkable (although there are defibs nearby for good reason!).
Practical tip; if taking the bus, when disembarking the ferry head to your right when leaving the port. Here you will find the bus to Anacapri - ask the driver to stop at Fort Apache. From here walk back down the hill and on your right you will find the entrance to Casa Nel Bosco.
It's easy to forget the value for money this hotel provides when you come to review the negatives - whilst some details could've been refined i.e. the broken outdoor sofa, pool wasn't clean, temperamental door lock and high maintenance kettle (didn't fit under tap to fill and no plugs suitable nearby). These details are easy to overlook given the unique experience this hotel offers and the friendly host.

the view and Marinella’s homemade croissants were great
nothing more
the information in Booking.com are extremely misleading
it’a a pity

beautiful views of the island, nice porch areas.
no gardens or hot tub as advertised which was a bummer because that was a big sell for us. it was also hard to find initially and the room had some used water bottles in the fridge. the room was also connected to the main portion of the house by a thin door and voices were really loud through it during the day.

The view
The room was terrible, the bed was barely 6 inches off the floor and uncomfortable. Scratchy linens and 2 very flat pillows. The wood floors were uneven and in spots sank when you stepped there. The couch and chairs were dirty, the bathroom was awful; hair in the drain had not been cleaned out, the tile grout was moldy and the shower doors filthy...it was gross! There were several flights of stairs from the street to reach the facility and they were steep and uneven we had help from staff to get our luggage up but no help when we departed. The facility was very run down.

The views from our room and the property were incredible. Gianfranco was very welcoming and there was a pool for us to dip into when too hot! It felt very secure and private.
On the whole the room was clean, but I felt some bits were missed. Breakfast was amazing but it didn’t seem to be restocked.

The room was very well located and the views were to amazing! The staff were nice, great explanations, it was all so easy.
There were a lot of stairs to the room and the lift does not work in the morning so I had to carry all my luggage down.
The wifi only worked in some areas of the room.

Stunning views of Capri & good sized room! Quiet & private location. To get these gorgeous views you must climb over 150 steps, this was fine for us since we packed light but beware if you have heavy/large luggage or have physical limitations as there is no one to help you up.
LONG REVIEW BUT BEWARE!
1. We arrived unfortunately on a horribly rainy day. Soaked, Cold & exhausted from the climb, after finally arriving at La Casa Nel Bosco, the hostess was less than welcoming & at first didn’t want us to bring our wet luggage into the house. We were not offered a dry towel or even a cup of coffee. We were shocked at the lack of hospitality… but ok, maybe a language barrier.
2. Needing a hot shower, I immediately noticed the presence of dark mildew. I sent a message to my contact person Gianfranco who was very apologetic. I told him we were too tired & resting, to please just take care of it the next day. Well, the hostess came straight to the room and pushed her way in with a total attitude, I told her can we wait till tomorrow & clearly she stated “No, NOW” & mumbling in Italian… I’m sure I was cursed out!
3. VERY DANGEROUS ENTRY/EXIT location! I’m surprised most didn’t comment about this! Hidden gate along a long stone wall. Our taxi driver said a few years back a guest was hit as she walked out of the gate. Very narrow road, less than 12 inches between stone wall & oncoming traffic to walk. We had to RUN 30 meters to the bus stop which never stopped for us since it’s always full. Prepare to use taxi, 17-20€ to Capri town or Anacapri & 35€ to the port. Walking, especially at night back to the property, is not an option!

Really good value for staying in Capri.
Things are a bit unkept- furniture was broken, pool was pretty dirty and unwelcoming, rooms could
use an upgrade.

What a beautiful property! We loved staying here during our Capri holiday. The host were also very kind and accommodating. I would highly recommend this property.

the breakfast was ok, with very nice cakes made by the employer Marinela. She was very nice. Every time we needed something she did help us readily. The view from the room and the balcony is fabulous.
I would recommend creating the possibility for clients to be able to buy water at the accommodation, so that they don't have to climb so many stairs with the water they need to drink, since the water in the accommodation is not suitable for drinking. It would also be nice to be able to use the espresso machine, upon payment of the capsules.

not much. Taxis wouldn't come to hotel. breakfast staff was curt and unfriendly. room wasn't made. sofa in front of the view was uncomfortable and majorly broken (you couldn't sit in it) The place is a dump. we left early.
we left early. the guy who carried our bags was nice. the room was horrid. everybody could see into our room. breakfast was miserable (we ended up never eating there it was so bad) the hotel was poorly maintained. I think we were sleeping in the laundry room. zero service in the room of any kind. One bottle of water for two people for 3 nights. bad location, no taxis will come.

the host was amazing, he drove us down to the bottom because you can’t get taxis anywhere
