About this villa rental
La Villa Mimosa is full of charm and character. From the moment you step onto the terrace you'll be on holidays. There are 6 double bedrooms, 2 downstairs and 4 upstairs. Four of the bedrooms have sea views. Upstairs there are 2 bathrooms, one with separate wc, while downstairs there is a bathroom with separate wc. The kitchen which has an Aga, is very simple, but has all mod-cons and is well stocked with crockery, utensils, Nespresso coffee machine etc. A small laundry room is off the kitchen. The TV room has wi-fi, satellite TV, Apple TV and DVD player. There is a large living room with dining table and TV/DVD player. Beside the living room is a sun/reading room. Both of these rooms lead onto the terrace, which is where you'll probably spend most of your holiday. There is plenty of room for entertaining and dining al fresco. The garden is private and there is ample parking.
A swimming pool together with pool house was added in 2023 which has been a great addition.

A bientôt

Mimosa; parfait!

Beautiful villa, rich in history, in a prime location
We had an absolutely wonderful stay for 2 weeks in Villa Mimosa. The views from the terrace and bedrooms were stunning; the house nice and cool, and quiet; and the shortcut to the beach brilliant for those who fancied a pre-breakfast swim. Thanks for a wonderful stay - and for the Irish fudge and bottle of rose!

Magnifiques vacances - septembre 2017

Big Bright and Beautiful!
We had a great holiday in Villa Mimosa. A big bright and airy house with a great feeling of history. The house is beautiful but not in any way fussy. It has a truly relaxed atmosphere. The bedrooms (6) are all lovely, especially the master - so spacious and with lovely views of the Med. We spent a lot of time on the large terrace enjoying the magnificent view!
I would certainly recommend Villa Mimosa for a great holiday. There are good restaurants, the beach and all necessary amenities close by. You get all the luxury and benefits of the Cote d'azur without the crowds !

A holiday to remember in a delightful home.
The house is a delight, designed by Henry Royce of Rolls-Royce fame and built in a lovely area overlooking the Mediterranean at Le Canadel in the south of France.
It is a large home as described with many bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is large and well equiped. Everything you need is provided. The location is great and is within walking distance to the beach, and there are good shops a short drive away. The house was in very good order and clean with all the sheets and towels provided. Everything promised was provided.
I would highly recommend this property to any friend or relative or any other person.
The house being in the south of France is in a very central location so all the main towns like Nice, Monte Carlo, Marseille and St Tropez are a short drive away and easily reached.
To sum up it is a great house in a wonderful location and makes for such a fantastic holiday.

Villa Mimosa, home of Sir Henry Royce
The house has an air of authenticity and retains many original features, it really did feel as if Henry could have been there yesterday. If Rolls-Royce was a religion ( and maybe it is) this would be the Temple.
As a Rolls-Royce enthusiast driving 1600 miles from Cumbria UK to Villa Mimosa in a 1938 Rolls-Royce Wraith WRB60 one could have no better place to stay.

Stay at Villa Mimosa, Le Canadel
We had a most interesting and enjoyable visit to Henry Royce's (of Rolls-Royce) former Winter home, Villa Mimosa, at Le Canadel. Royce designed and built the house almost exactly 100 years prior to our visit.
Above Villa Mimosa is Villa Jaune, the home of Claude Johnson (RR's Managing Director), below is Le Bureau, the design office, and at the bottom of the road, adjacent to the main road, is Villa Rossignol, accommodation for the senior designers who worked with Henry Royce. On the opposite side of the main road is the Garage, where the cars were accommodated and serviced, and there was an electrical generator for the villas.
There were 8 of us, using 5 bedrooms (we didn't use the children's bedroom) - this was a comfortable number. The bedrooms are of a generous size, as is the rest of the property. The owner will provide a very helpful plan of the property (I used it to allocate the bedrooms).
The weather was excellent - sunny and about 23C. We swam in the sea every day. The beach is very close, on the opposite side of the main road, probably 200ft (60 metres) below Villa Mimosa - the land is quite steep, with Col de Canadel peak at 850ft.
We had all our meals on the terrace (except dinners at local restaurants) with magnificent views of the sea, surrounding countryside and islands in the distance. The kitchen had all the facilities we required. Behind the terrace is the lounge/dining room, and there's another lounge on the west side.
The house is very comfortable and clean, with a 1950/60s feel to the decorations, very appropriate for the age of the house. There's no air conditioning, but many fans, and awnings and shutters to minimise sunlight (when we were there, it was not a problem). There's generous car parking, although turning round in the drive (or the road) can be tight.
The description of the property is very accurate as are the pictures. I've used the pictures when describing our holiday. Downstairs there's a bathroom & separate loo, upstairs two en suites with shower and loo.
There are no shops in Le Canadel, but a good selection at Le Rayol, 2 miles to the East and Cavaler, probably 3-4 miles to the west (where there's a good beach with no steep hills, and a large car park). St Tropez is not too far to the East, and all the Cote D'Azure attractions to Monaco are not too much further. And there are many restaurants at Le Canadel, Le Rayol and Cavaler.
Highly recommended - I hope to return in 2013

A little bit of paradise
We have stayed in this villa a number of times. It is really lovely - very convenient for all amenities (shops, market, restaurants, beaches etc), yet in a quiet residential area. The villa is beautifully decorated and appointed. It's spacious, comfortable, and is described accurately in the listing description. It is a five minute walk to the beach at Canadel and the famous Tropicana beach club. You could miss Canadel if you weren't looking for it! Yet it has everything you need closeby.
The architecture of the villa is wonderful and it's steeped in history as it was built by Henry Royce of Rolls Royce fame and it is where he spent many years. It has every modern convenience but still retains an 'old world' feel. In fact the whole place has a very genteel feel to it. It seems to have avoided the excesses of other places on the French Riviera.
The terrace is where we spent most of our time and it has fantastic views over the mediterraen coast. We spent many an evening barbecuing here.
Canadel is not a big place, it's easy to reach anywhere on foot, the old railway track means the walks to the beaches and town are traffic free. It's also a good base for exploring further afield...particularly on bikes. It is about a 40 minute drive into St.Tropez if you're missing the excesses of the Cote d'Azur! There is also a regular bus service which runs along the main road and goes up and down the coast to Toulon.
I would definitely recommend this villa as a wonderful, relaxing holiday destination, and this is definitely the place to stay.

Fabulous home with panoramic views
Myself and my partner took our young family of 5 to stay in villa Mimosa last April.
I can not speak highly enough of the house which is very suitalble for a young family as nothing seems to precious yet the villa is extremely homely with very comfortable beds. Most meals we ate on the terrace and in the evenings the children would find something to do in the rambleing house.
The location to the beach is excellent (3 minute walk) across a busy road but once you have crossed that it is very safe. If your interested in running or cycling there is an old track which is safe and goes to the next town Lavendou maybe a 5 - 7 km track.
There is also a great hotel at the end of the road which serves delicious food more for the adults. I believe in peak season there is at least one very good child friendly restaurant on the beach. The beach is very safe and clean.
The people and the place are understated and simple and a lot less showey that St. Tropez half an hour away by car.
I would highly reccommed 'Villa Mimosa' there is no downside.
