We really enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect for a ski weekend. We could easily walk to the slopes with our kids which was ideal! The place was very clean, the bedrooms were spacious, the views were beautiful, and the bonus game room was a hit! We would definitely stay again!

Great location that worked for us.

This was so easy! The cabin was clean and in a great location. Beech Mountain Ski a about a two minute walk away and Emerald Outback hiking is a 7 minute drive away.

Great mountain get away convenient to get to Beech & Banner Elk! We loved sitting on the deck for the view itself. And being at the higher elevation in August, it was nice to put on a long sleeve T-shirt and enjoy the cooler weather! We appreciated the comfortable sectional and the very comfortable king size bed in the primary bedroom. We wanted to play pool in the evening but we were honestly too tired from hiking during the day. Next time we will book a longer stay!

Great location and views to escape the heat and enjoy a relaxing weekend in the mountains.

The pictures do NOT do this property justice. It is lovely and perfectly situated for our needs. Two families shared this property for end-of-season ski adventures. Easy to find. Sufficient space to park safely. Great views.
Thank you for a great stay.

We were a family of 8, 6 adults and 2 children ages 7 and 9. We were able to walk to the ski resort. Everyone could come and go as they wanted. The house was very clean. There was a big Crock Pot. Bring a ladle if needed. We couldn't find one. The drip coffee pot was great, but I would recommend getting one that has automatic shut off. There is a small Keurig, but we couldn't get it to work. This house gave us plenty of room for separating as needed. The downstairs room was great for the kids. It has a pool table and smart TV. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to be close to the ski slopes. We had a great time.

The property location was spot on for skiing Beech Mountain! From the start the email communication can be a drag especially when your in an area with limited service. Courtesy phone calls would be a nice welcome from time to time. We got notice of the morning of check in that we might not be able to stay the night due to the storm and the previous tenants not getting out in time. Thats not something you want to hear 9.5 hours from home with NO where to stay. Either way it worked out and we were able to stay, of course CCR didn't let me know that (as they promised they would) I just went and tried my code at check in time. The listing said that there were parking for three cars but it was more like one and a half since they snow was pilled in the middle of the drive, we made do with 4x4 trucks. Once in the house we found the dishes were all left dirty in the dishwasher, and the dryer was full of linens. After getting that sorted out everything was ok, until the heat down stairs quit working. I will say that Carolina Cabin Rentals did handle this the quickest and best way they could. The situation was temporarily resolved for our stay and we were comfortable. Overall the location was ideal and the house is fairly nice. It could use some maintenance and a thurough cleaning. I have rented from VRBO many times and I usually try and rent direct with owners as I like the open communication that comes with that. Using a rental company tends to complicate the situation, and most of the times the properties aren't as clean as they should be. It's like it's treated as just another number and NOT there own. Overall though the property was ok and the stay was nice I would use it again it just might not be my first choice.

My family came to Beech Mountain to relax and do some spring skiing. This house was a great fit for us. We really enjoyed the convenience of being able to come and go to the mountain as we pleaded without waiting for everyone in our party to be ready. The house was cozy and clean yet everyone had their own space. We really enjoyed evenings playing pool and the added bonus of TV’s in every room.

Northern Exposure
Best thing about this house was the location. Not so great things about this house were the following: the kitchen is not fully equipped, house felt a bit dirty, there was dog hair all over all the blankets which does not bode well for people with allergies, there was trash left outside the front door when we arrived, not enough towels for the number of people staying, pillowcases but no pillow inserts for the pull out couch downstairs. Just an okay experience.

We had a great weekend at Northern Exposure. Everything was clean in the house. We were told that the pullout couch would have sheets and it did not. Also we're told that towels would be left in each bathroom and the downstairs bathroom did not have towels.

Lots of space
This house is really spacious. It sleeps a lot of people comfortably and has a bathroom on every floor. It has an open floor plan which fits groups comfortably and the view are spectacular.
There are only a couple of minor drawbacks that you could plan around - the firepit is on a steep slope which makes seating a bit of a challenge and there are also only two chairs so bring some if you want to use it. Also, the kitchen is lacking some pretty basic items - pot holders, cutting boards, enough glassware for the number of people the house sleeps.

North Exposure - 5 Stars
We loved our stay at Northern Exposure and it will definitely be our first choice of places to stay the next time we are coming to the Beech Mountain area. Location was great and quiet. Loved being able to walk to the Ski Beech area. House was very comfortable. Game room and pool table was enjoyed many evenings during our stay. Loved the long range views from the front doors of the beautiful mountains.
Carolina Cabins was great to work with in renting. They were very friendly and helpful in providing all necessary information and answered all of our questions.
***I do not want this added to the review online as I wouldn't want it to keep someone from wanting to rent. Rather, it is some suggestions that might would be worth knowing.
The bathroom lock to the sliding door in the master bathroom did not work and so the door wouldn't stay closed. When someone was needing to use that bathroom we had to close the bedroom door and lock it for privacy. There was also a very large space under the door from master bedroom to master bath which I'm guessing is from maybe where there used to be carpet?
The ceiling fan light closest to the front door was burned out and needs to be replaced.
When we arrived (first thing we always do when traveling) we opened the dishwasher to start a load of items that we knew we would need for immediate use. There was a really bad odor in the dishwasher so we ran a cycle without dishes and throughout the week left it cracked instead of it being closed up completely unless we were running a cycle. I'm not certain that it was cleaning very well either so we ended up hand washing most of the dishes while there. Several of the glasses had chips on the lip area or cracks. The kitchen table had food crumbs and even popcorn kernels in the cracks. I understand how hard those are to keep clean but was surprised that it was not cleaned out between renters.
Due to the house that is being built down the hill, once it is being stayed in, I would feel much more comfortable having some blinds that could be closed at night in the living room area as well as the game room area. Because we had to utilize the game room area also as a bedroom, I think my son would have felt more comfortable having blinds he could have closed since the curtains didn't fully cover the doors.
Again, please do not take any of this as that we didn't enjoy the house and our stay. We had a wonderful time and was very comfortable! We are already talking about when we can get back up there and would for sure want to rent the house again. I actually told my husband that I would love to rent for a month and he and my son could come up for long weekends:). All places have their little quirks about them and we do understand that..these are just some things that we noticed and thought it was worth mentioning.
Thank you again for allowing us to rent and use the house!

Our time @ Northern Exposure
A great place to stay for winter skiing! Snow blanketed Slopeside road upon our arrival & the wonderful guy on his snowplow paved the way for us & when we told him when we were leaving, he came back as promised and snowplowed for our departure!

You can not ask for a better place to stay. We have stayed here for the past two years because of the great location to the slopes. For the skier or non skier you are able to walk to the lodge or restaurant instead of having to find parking spots. There is also ample room for four families.

Great experience!!!
Our stay at Nothern Exposure was great!!! Slept all 12 ( 10 adults, 2 toddlers ) very comfortably. Carolina Cabins were very easy to work with, answered all my questions, gave very good directions, and made sure everything was in order for our stay. The cabin it's self was very nice. Equipped wi h everything you'll need. Game room was a nice place to go and have fun as well as a place to sleep. Parking was perfect for 3 4 wheel drive trucks. The walk to the slopes was very easy, just down the hill and through the parking lot and you were ready to ski. The views of the mountains were awesome from the front windows and gave plenty of light into the front room. If the family decides to go back next year or in the future, this cabin will be our first choice.

Northern Exposure
The cabin was great, besides the gas logs not working which I was informed of. The shower next to the kitchen would not drain so we could not use it. Also there was not dish detergent or dish soap so we had to leave and buy some to follow the check out directions.

Northern Exposure
Great cabin and good value for its price. There were several fans and lights that we couldn't get to work, including the master bedroom. It made the room so dark we could barely see to get dressed. Would recommend adding blinds to the windows rather than the cheap shades that are there—would look much better and provide more light during daytime. Otherwise we had a great stay and really enjoyed our time there

Epic!!
This location was absolutely perfect! The views are breathtaking and the area is just as nice. The local towns people are quite friendly and very helpful. The cabin alone was everything we had hoped it to be and so much more. We were all comfortable with the sleeping space. Plenty of entertainment from pool to TVs and even board games were provided to give us the best possible experience. I highly recommend this location to all visiting Banner Elk.

Great place close to the slopes
Great place for a large group more than enough sleeping room. There are a walk way down to the parking lot of beech ski resort but the steps need updates no hand rails.

This is a very nice home.
This is a very nice home. It is very specious and has lots of room for a large party such as ours. However, your cleaning crew needs to do a better job. There are cobwebs in the corners and the floors had NOT been swept (so I'm sure they weren't mopped). There was paper and price tags from clothing others had bought under the table and beds. I don't like to complain but these things should be normal cleaning . Also it does need some brighter lighting. But we loved our trip and would recommend your property. This is the only reason I couldn't give you a 5 star review!

Family getaway
Heavenly Hideaway was a great place for us! Plenty of space for our family of 7 adults and 7 high school/ college age kids ! Park your car and walk to Ski, tube, or skate! Beautiful views from the porch, and you can watch the birds and deer from there as well. Our family really enjoyed the pool table that provided an activity on a rainy day. The house is well appointed and has everything you need for your vacation

Wonderful Vacation
We enjoyed our stay at Heavenly Hideaway. The view is beautiful and the house was very clean. The only problem we had was that there were no sheets for the downstairs pullout couches. They were listed in the bed count and supposedly all linens would be furnished. Not so easy to fix on top of Beech Mountain. It would also be helpful to have a checkout list (times, trash, dirty linens, etc.) We have stayed at enough houses to know the general rules but a list would be good for everyone. We would definitely stay there again and the process with Carolina Cabin Rentals was very easy. Thanks all!

Beautiful view and very clean!
We had a wonderful visit. The house was very clean and as expected. The only problem we had was that there were no linens for the two pullout couches downstairs. We called the rental office and they were very nice but there was nothing they could do. The beds were included in the overall count and all linens were supposed to be included. We made it work but not very comfortable for the ones downstairs. It is also recommended that a "checkout list" be left at the cabin with instructions (checkout time, trash, dirty linens, etc.). Overall we had a great time and would go back again. Thanks all!

Peaceful and great location
We enjoyed our stay at Heavenly Hideaway very much! We visited Beech Mountain for a family wedding and this home was a perfect location. Easy walk to Beech Mountain Village, and easy driving distance to restaurants and Fred's General Store.
Home is well-stocked and has washer/dryer and dishwasher. Nice to spend family time in the living room or downstairs in the game room playing pool. Beds are comfortable and rooms have plenty of storage, extra blankets, etc. (One tip - bring your own hair dryer.)
Definitely feels like home away from home.

Very spacious, pretty but very dark
Lovely home, nice furniture, lots of room for our family of five. Pool table and other games lots of fun. House needs brighter lightbulbs, more lights. House very dark even in full sun. Needs a few more tweaks; more towels, dish drainer, lots of dust and some grime under chairs, tables, beds. But the furnishings are nice leather, perfect for our allergy plagued family members, nice laminate floors, bathrooms are very nice and updated. All bedrooms are pretty with comfortable beds. A very nice place to stay. Just need more lamps and stronger lightbulbs.
4.5
Spacious but dark!
This is a lovely, spacious property. We liked that it wasn't crowded with extra furnishings or knickknacks. The furniture was great, nice leather, beds comfortable, lots of room for our family of five. Everyone had their own room and bathroom. The pool table was fun along with the other games. But the house is very dark. It doesn't get much natural light and it needs brighter light bulbs and more lamps. We also had to supplement our towels. A dish drainer would be useful. A few tweaks and this would be a five star.
Thank you for the feedback. This home is under new ownership and the window coverings have been removed which allow for more natural light, and additional lamps have been added. --MGT
