When we arrived, the small space was not what we expected. It was difficult to sit 4 adults and a young child indoors and we wondered how you could possibly fit 5 adults… there are 2 queen beds, but the common area is too small to fit another adult. Also, the view of the Saco river from the front porch was replaced by a large parking lot and smelly garbages. The bungalo was very clean when we arrived, except for the very bad smell of the curtains in the front room and living room. The distance from the beach (1-2 minutes away) was good and we had lots of fun playing there. I think it’s a cute get away for 2 people ( although the area is not the most queerfriendly area), but it was not very confortable for 4 adults. We were able to use the backyard, but it was filled by the five cars parked in the yard and therefor, not very intimate or appropriate for a kid playing. Finally, there was no handsoap and not enough toilet paper as advertised.

We had a great stay!
The only thing I would improve is the kitchen supplies. Need serving/mixing bowls, more cereal bowls and a few more forks and spoons.

We rented this cottage to spend a week in Camp Ellis! We Loved our Stay, made Friends along the way, and truely enjoyed ourselves!
Everything was as described! A Two bedroom cottage.Patrick our Host was warm and very helpful! The Cottage was Clean, comfortable, and right next door to Huots!!!
Our Family has been coming to Camp Ellis for years! This time was a girls trip. Fun was had by all!
We cannot wait to book and visit again!

Only a few 100 ft from the beach! Surprisingly we could not hear much of the hustle and bustle being right next door to a busy restaurant. But the restaurtant dumpsters are right outside the property and very smelly. The property could use some updates and improvements, very worn inside appearance and the bare minimum is provided. No handsoap and very minimal kitchen essentials.
Our biggest turn off was the inability to leave the front door open to allow for fresh air to circulate the unairconditoned apartment. The deck is shared and the neighbors were constantly smoking cigarettes, and the smoke would come right in through the front door screen. Back lawn area almost unusable with cars parked so closed to the picnic table.
Great location but very little privacy.

I thought the location was perfect. In the reviews some people menitoned having issue with the restaurant next door, Huots. Neither myself or my 81 year old Mother had an issue. They also serve excellent ice cream. The discrencies on the amenities are as such. Therre was no DVD player or DVD library and I brought DVD's with us to watch. Also there was no coin operated laundry. Maybe that could be updated. Also, there was a mattress cover on one bed but not the other. Neither here or there but wanted to mention that. Everyone in the building was awesome. Kevin is the resident who lives there year around and was a font of information for us. He was very nice as were the others visiting last week. We had an awesome time and really appreciated staying here

Great spot for a getaway. Property was exactly as advertised! Great, quiet location filled with families and great neighbors. Restaurant next store is delicious! Two beaches 1 block away and close to several additional beaches and hikes. Home was clean and well stocked and the bed was comfortable. Definitely a place we would return to.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The beach was less than a five min walk away and my boys and I loved it! We even saw a baby dolphin while we were swimming!! I would love to come back again and stay here! We just got home 2hrs ago and miss it already. What a perfect little spot!! Totally worth it! My dog even loved it and he usually hates being away from our house.

We stayed in the 1st floor, one-bedroom unit and it was perfect for myself and my husband. The unit is very clean and tidy, beautifully decorated with ocean colors of teals, blues, and whites. Patrick (the owner) permitted us bringing our two adult cats who loved the ocean breeze as much as we did. We met Patrick the day we left and he is a terrific guy! We had no issues at all during our stay, and all of the communications we had prior to the trip were very helpful. Patrick was usually quicker to respond to our messages than I was. It was very humid the week we were there, but opening the windows and sliding door in the kitchen/living room area sufficiently cooled things down. The ocean is at the end of the street and the beach is a short 5-minute walk away, so walking the beach every day became part of our routine right away. Huot's Seafood Restaurant is a must! The seafood is excellent and the drinks are worth every penny. The Rum Runner packs a serious punch! :) The Sea Hawk Gift Shop wasn't open yet, but that is because COVID still has things opening a little later than usual. Midge Sunburn, the owner, is working to get the shop open for July, so we'll be back for a day trip in July or August. The people in the area are unbelievably friendly. Stop and chat with anyone! We will be back for a vacation again and will rent from Patrick if the dates work out. This is our new go-to vacation spot!

Second time staying at this property (different apt last year). In general, it's a great place and very central in Camp Ellis. Awesome of them to allow dogs. The owner (Patrick) is cool, though we had a few communication issues. Ran out of grill propane mid-week, shot him and text but no response. We couldn't grill the rest of the week. He offers to reimburse if visitors get the tank refilled, but we didn't want to bother with that. Left him a VM the day we departed to share a few cleaning concerns, but no response past 5 days. I ordinarily share any concerns directly with the owner (to avoid leaving a bad review). Just wanted to let him know we discovered a bowl with 3 deteriorating floating hot dogs in the microwave. Few days later was sprucing up for a visitor, and discovered that the coffee table beaded mat was stuck on with what appeared to be soda spill. Normally wouldn't irk me too much, but between COVID and the cleaning fee I thought he should know. Probably just a lax housekeeping service, needs to be spot-checked. We brought disinfectant (I manage custodial services professionally), so we took care of it.
Still a great place to stay, but cleaning and communication were hiccups this year. No issues at all last year

The owner is very easy to reach. The people in the area are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant next door is extremely good. Had a lot of fun here. Will come back again.

Patrick was extremely accommodating and the rental was just as advertised. It was very clean and contained everything we needed including cooking our own lobsters which were purchased fresh from the sea located just a 1 minute walk away. Pick your lobster and take it home to cook!! I've been home 5 days now and still can't stop wishing I was still there. Camp Ellis is my happy place! Oh and the ocean is only a few minute walk away as well as the harbor (kayak rentals etc.) and next door is a wonderful seafood restaurant with outdoor dining. Just writing this makes me want to book another week for August !!

Nice and clean super small, on the street and the loudest location we have ever stayed. If you like the smell of fried food this is the place. We rented for the week and left Wednesday because you cannot sleep at night from noise.

Pros: Very convenient access to beach by the jetty; trolley can bring you to OOB for a $1 all day as well; best seafood right next door, neat, clean, comfortable first floor unit. Cons: No air conditioning but we brought several fans which helped a lot and there were two oscillating fans available. The loose slider screens were no match for our dog so may not want to rent if bringing any pets with you! No way to lock screen doors but they are only source of ventilation so we had to leave doors open at night. Right next door to Huot's Seafood (see Pros), however, this is very noisy and tons of cars driving by constantly. After 10PM, very peaceful.

Property owner was easily reached and accommodated our late arrival. The little house with the well equipped kitchen, clean bedding and premises and nautical decor was most welcome after hours on the road with two teenager and a 60 pound puppy! The beach, pier to fish, trolley stop to Old Orchard Beach (1$ per person... yay!) and the famous and delicious sea food eatery Huot’s were all within a 100 feet of our doorstep, not to mention the amazing historic Sea Hawk curio ship owned by the charming local matriarch Midge Sanborn. My kids and I will never forget our days in Camp Ellis and our little home away from home!
