Rose Lodge - peaceful, relaxing, comfy and amazing local bird life

Friendly welcome from hosts, obvious attention to detail for guests, treats in the fridge!(thank you so much), well stocked items in the kitchen, tea/coffee/sugar already in place, lovely internal and external lights to set ambiance and.... a box for your items and a hat if its rains while you're in the hot tub!! lol Loved watching the cows in the far distance. AMAZING local bird life!! Watching the buzzards circling. Get a bird song app! Our stay was for two nights, so peaceful and relaxing.

That I wasn't staying there for a month! :) Would like to explore some of the local walking available next time if possible. Beautiful views and countryside.

A cute little house.

Fabulous view, comfortably equipped. Felt welcoming and cosy.

Cutlery and cooking utensils were a bit hit and miss, with mismatched cutlery, few teaspoons and very battered saucepans. An oven glove would also have been helpful.

Perfect for a peaceful getaway

Perfect little getaway - well equipped clean accommodation. Lovely hosts. The hot tub was the icing on the cake.

Fabulous views with incredible hot tub!

The view was incredible and the hot tub was amazing! Met by the host on arrival that gave us a tour and showed us how to use the hot tub. Everything we needed to cook breakfast with in the kitchen and plastic glasses for prosecco in the hot tub. Lovely recommendations for food given prior to arrival. Overall amazing experience, will definitely return!

Nothing really! The main bedroom was very hot at night compared to the rest of the property, but we just slept with the duvet off.

beds are a little uncomfortable, the smaller of the two doubles you could feel the join in the bed and the larger room with the double could do with a topper for comfort.

I'm definitely booking again

if you want a nice quiet break to wind down & relax, this is an ideal place to come, away from all the hussle & bussle, you have wifi, tv, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, cooker, & all sorts, even a Tesco nearby - a 3 min drive away, even there you can be in & out within 5 mins, its nice & quiet there too. The Hot tub was just great, nice & clean & guess what, it was private ! no1 to share it with, you even had a beautiful view from it too.

Let me think........ errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr nothing at all !!! Honestly, everything was just spot on, not one thing was bad, everything was perfect.

Was honestly one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed! Everything was perfect from the scenes to the cabin itself. Host was really lovely when checking up when we arrived, the beds are super comfy and was able to see the stars whilst in hot tub in the night with an amazing view which was the best experience ever !!! thank you so so much.

Overall a pleasant stay with a few solvable issues

The property location was quiet and secluded with an excellent hot tub for personal use. The overall property was good and the hosts were friendly. The views from the property were stunning.

The mattress on the bed had clearly seen better days as you ended up just sinking in the middle, so we did not sleep well. The oven didn’t have any baking trays, so cooking anything was not very realistic, bearing in mind this is self-catering. (To add balance, the hosts did email to see if there was anything we needed but we didn’t bring it up at the time, however if an oven is provided then the appropriate cooking utensils should be too). Then one thing which could be tricky to solve: there is a smoke alarm right next to the kitchen space and it goes off at the merest sign of heat. It is impossible to cook a breakfast, which most people like to do when they are away, without it screaming in your ears. I appreciate properties have to be safe, but it does need looking at because it makes the kitchen unusable.

Was a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

Hot-tub was great. Netflix and WiFi all great. Kitchen had everything we needed as well as many basics such as Salt, Pepper and Oil etc.

Tiny bedroom and the bed wasn't too comfy (but ok for 2 nights).

Tranquil, fantastic, sensational and just perfect.

Wow!!!! Incredible location, wonderful hosts and facilities we’re absolutely spot on, spent majority of the time in the hot tub overlooking the views, sunset and watching the stars, for a weekend away you cannot ask for more. The lodge was absolutely spotless too just an incredible experience and will be going back without a doubt.
