Phong states everything clearly and the house is run very well. Would stay here again.
Nothing really.

Distance to Anaheim Conference Center is doable on foot, takes 1h one-way. Bus connection to MetroLink and AmTrak is easy and direct (twice per h). Location wonderfully quiet, no traffic noise (snoring roommates is hostel risk . . ). Staff very friendly, helpful and personable (includes a chicken that offers a morning welcome).
Breakfast is entirely do-it-yourself and on the sparse side (tee bag, banana, orange). A coffee to start the day would have been nice. Kitchen is super-clean, but food preparation is very restrictive (re-heating, no cooking from scratch).

This guesthouse is located in a quiet residential area. There is a dedicated bicycle trail going to the Newport beach. Also there is a direct bus to Newport departing every hour. Good for people who don't have their own car.
There are some outlet shops and cafes in a walking distance.
My room and the shared bathroom were clean. WiFi worked well.
The host let me leave my bags prior to the official check-in time (which is very late, 7pm)
Upon arrival, I was shocked by the amount of notes forbidding or limiting something on every wall. No talking. No photos. No walking. Shower use 10 mins max. No cooking in the kitchen. No use of own kitchenware. Flush the toilet twice. No matter where you go, there would be another warning sign.
In addition, the owner put my booking printout containing such sensitive data as my private phone number, address and full name on the door of my room, letting any guest read it. I freaked out when I saw it and I had to use black pen to cover the details I did not want to share with any random public. The host kept disclosing personal data for all current and future guests of his property. I am not sure this is even legal and doesn't breach any privacy laws.
The next day the owner started asking me, if the hiking boots that I put on the rack outside really belong to me and not to some "friend" whom I am (supposedly) hiding in my room. I assured him that the shoes were mine (I wear hiking boots 2 sizes bigger to be able to put thing woolen socks on my feet). After this talk I freaked out again, so I could not sleep the second night. Even though I prepaid for 3 nights at the property, after the second sleepless night spent in anxiety of breaching any of these 1000 rules again, I called my friends and asked if I can spend the 3rd night at their place. Luckily, I managed to escape and could finally breathe freely. I will not return to this place even if offered money.

I enjoyed the connection of the people around. The tenants who stayed there were very hospital
My stay wasn't long enough to enjoy the city.

My bed was comfortable and it was great that I had the entire shared room to myself. The neighborhood feels safe for a solo female traveler. I went for two solo runs and there are even trails nearby!. Shared kitchen had free food for me when I arrived and the host was nice and friendly. I would definitely stay at OMG House again!
I would have enjoyed having a second pillow, since the one provided was quite flat. Also, a full length mirror would be nice in order to get dressed!

Bed wasn’t too comfy. bathrooms were fairly outdated with very little water pressure. There was a rooster that was really loud around 6AM

This house is in a central location,! The owner Phong was very friendly and pleasant. There is a chicken on the property named Lilly/Ester. There was a mix of short term and longer stay guests. Everyone I spoke to was really nice and chill. The neighborhood that the property is in was pretty quiet. I would definitely stay here again!!

I loved the good positive energy the owner puts I to the place. It seems more of a lifestyle that is warm and welcoming. Respect is both ways and it sure seems abundant here.

The owner is very friendly and his Russian assistant Natalya was super nice.
Disposable dishes. But most people wouldn’t care about that. In fact, might prefer.

Very cute place, clean and quiet. It was exactly what I needed. Phong was very helpful, and even let me extend my stay and check in early. If I'm back in Santa Ana, I will definitely stay again.
