Camera ampia, splendido terrazzino vista mare e piscina.

I booked a room for 3 people, expecting the comfort and standards of a 4-star hotel. What we got instead was a nightmare. The third person in our group had to leave early because instead of a proper bed, they were given a sofa with an incredibly hard mattress — honestly, the floor would have been more comfortable. After they left, the hotel stopped bringing us towels for the extra person, even though we had already paid for the room.
The minute we entered the room, we wanted to leave, but the owner refused to give us a full refund. To top it off, the room was filthy! There were spiders on the ceiling, black stains near the bed, and a general lack of cleanliness. When I brought this up with the receptionist, she brought me the cleaner there (who is the owner), I was met with sarcasm. Her response to the dirty walls? "What do you want me to do, ask the painter to paint it?" Truly unprofessional.
The bathroom was another disaster. As seen in the photos, the handle was falling apart, and the room had a grimy feeling, with dirt accumulating in the corners of the floor. It was completely unacceptable for the price we paid. I uploaded more pictures here as well showing the terrible situation of the room. I wish I was able to upload more than the 4 pictures that this review allows, to show you how bad this was…
Breakfast was no better. We found flies inside the bread, which I immediately pointed out. The response? "Yes, that's reasonable." I was horrified and refused to eat anything after that.
The hotel doesn't even have a proper reception — just a small booth with a woman who answers calls or receptionist.
This place is a scam and far from a 4-star establishment. The only thing I regret is not leaving immediately. Save yourself the stress and disappointment — stay anywhere else but here.

Located in front of Plaka beach. This is however not enough for the exorbitant price.
We booked our stay for the Economy Room and paid €240 per night for 6 nights. When we arrived we were shown to a small room located in the very back, which appears to be a former washroom or storage room converted into a small room. We discovered a drain under the bed indicating the above. The room fair price is €50-70/night for maybe an urgent situation.
Outside the room is a messy area where the cleaners hang the bedsheets for drying.
The twin bed could only fit in the room by leaning against one of the walls.
The room had no outside area or balcony. No clothes drying line and even when we asked for one it was forgotten and I had to borrow from another room.
Some minor dust on the top of the closet. One of its two doors was stuck and wouldn’t open.
We expressed our disappointment on day 2 and we were taken to another room for 2 nights. The other room fair price maybe ~€120/n but a bit more decent than the other. The owners seemed not surprised by the complaint and had the answer ready (which shows knowledge of the price vs quality issue). By the way, we spotted a couple of visitors using the room in the 2 days we were temporarily taken to the better room. This tells me they sold the room again during those two days! (or even worse, maybe they screwed the other folks for two days, to appease us).
Basic breakfast (I wouldn’t worry too much if the rest was good).
The owners (a local family from what it seems) know they are overpricing.
Overall a scammy pricing for a motel type room.

The beachside location was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious at the poolside. The accommodation was perfect for a family of 4. Close to the bus stop to get into Naxos Chora. Walking distance to delicious tavernas. Everyone working at Golden Sands was super friendly and helpful. The staff went out of their way to help us celebrate a special birthday. Would have loved to have stayed longer.

The only thing I liked about this property is that it’s on Plaka Beach.
The rooms are dingy, the lighting is terrible. The beds are uncomfortable. The linens are very thin and the “beach” towels are quite questionable. The pool had very limited seating and there was a creepy older man (part of staff?) sitting there most days just staring. It was very uncomfortable.
The dim bathroom light turned off intermittently.
There is no beach access.

Davvero molto spiacevole.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in May for my birthday. It was an absolute dream, beautiful room, clean, light spacious with a charming private balcony. A wonderful team, great fresh and local breakfasts and only a minute from the beach where you can enjoy the natural beauty of Naxos at its purest and most glorious. Can highly recommend this hotel.

The location is super, right by the beach, which is wonderful. The room was good, quite big, beds confortable, the bathroom a bit small. The hosts are very nice.

we’ve booked our stay in Naxos in this hotel trusting in the photos shows on Booking.com and here attached. The room and hotel looked nice and new. We arrived at the hotel and the receptionist was a young girl who didn’t speak any lenguage except greek. The hotel has apperead immediatly old and different considering the photos sohows on Booking.com. Anyway, we got the room and it was the worst surprise ever. The room was terrible and totaly different comparing that one booked by Booking.com (have a look the real photos of the room here attached). We immediatly asked to spik with the manager who said there were no more rooms available so we booked a diferent hotel by Booking.com asking a refound by Booking. After few minutes we got a call from the owner who was super rude and said we were lier because the room was the same the one shows on Booking.com (please have a look to the photos here attached and judge by yoursel). Morover, the owner said: “if you book a different hotel you will lose money because I will not accept the refound request”. Infact, she has not accepted our refound request, so we have to start legal action to get back our money. We don’t know if we will get back our money, in meantime I am writing this review to avoid other people to fall in trap with this fake advertisinent. That’s the worst experience we have ever had.

Loved the location and beautiful room. The bed was so comfortable
The beach loungers are a separate business so although hotel guests get a reduced rate, you have to reserve or may not get one and you need to factor the additional cost in to your holiday budget.

Generally tidy site, room layout suitable for 4 persons, flexible reception considering our late checkin, cleaners helpful, good breakfast buffet. Next to good section of beach. Swimming pool is pretty good.
Strong smell of sewage in the bathrooms although this was coming from the drains so is not necessarily the hotels fault. Hotel is fairly remote in its location on Plaka beach meaning you need a car, bike or bus to get to restaurants or better supermarkets. I didn’t eat at the restaurant as it seemed expensive although other customers seemed happy. Overall, the price of the accommodation didn’t reflect its quality which felt a little outdated in a poor location next to a dusty rubbish strewn track, defiantly not as idyllic as the photos suggest.

Super-friendly staff - the reception & especially the bar/restaurant staff were polite, helpsome & fast with the orders. You need to try the Banana Daquari or the Aperol Spritz with pink grape. Big portions of food - very tasty & a very good breakfast. Super-close to the Suthern part og Plaka Beach, very Nice Beach with Yellow sand. Close to nearest busstop.
Sunbeds at the Beach right next to the hotel were not free for the hotel guests - but at least they gave a discount - and you could just stay for free by the pool & then take a dip in the Ocean once in a while :-)

We liked the location very much, because it's next to the beach that is not as crowded as the ones closer to the town of Naxos.
The room was cozy, the terrace was nice and the bathroom as well. The staff was very friendly.
The breakfast is ok, but the scrambled eggs were cold all the time :( and it is kind of the same every day.
There was sand on our floor in our room when we arrived.
The breakfast area looks a bit old and needs some renovation.
The guests also need to pay for the sunbeds :( the sunbeds of the more expensive hotel next to it are nicer and less expensive!

The pool was good.
The room was tiny the bed was as hard as a brick. They should have got rid of that bed in the 1800’s The air conditioner barely worked. The shower didn’t work properly couldn’t wash my hair. The breakfast was so basic and very ordinary.
I would not recommend this property for your stay. The pool was clean and that’s the only positive. The meals were very expensive and the food was not worth the money. Do yourself a favour and give this hotel a miss.

Many positives about this hotel. Location on the beach was great. Hosts were extremely helpful and friendly (helped us book a taxi and rent a car). Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean (a little small), beds were comfy. We took a taxi to the hotel but we learned later we could have taken a bus (the bus has a separate space for luggage). We ate at the restaurant a few times - it is a little pricy but portions were big (you could easily split). There is a mini market within 3 min walk and many cool restaurants a little farther.
Music at the restaurant was too loud. I would recommend to them to at least turn it down and perhaps in the morning change it to a more spa like tune - not techno.

Great location at a quieter part of the beach. Excellent facilities for sunbathing and lounging by the pool. Friendly staff and the breakfast was amazing! Excellent value compared to other nearby properties
Nothing of note, we had a great time here

The proximity to Plaka beach, the staff, the room facilities, the included breakfast was awesome with traditional Naxian food included, free parking for our rental car. The value for money is really good for the accommodation. The frozen cocktails are brilliant.
Not much really. The concept of paying money to hire sun lounges and umbrellas is something I'm not comfortable with. The price for food and drinks is a little more expensive than other places nearby, however happy to support our hosts with low accommodation prices and great staff.

Amazing location, with great beach in front of the hotel. Pool with bar, and breakfast. The bed was great to sleep on and I loved my room with the fantastic view. The staff was super friendly. Sotiris took care of me like a brother as I had a broken ankle. amazing hospitality to all!! He even sowed my bag that broke. Thanks and cant wait to come again.0

the hotel was gorgeous and very picturesque. looked identical to the photos. we loved the location and the beachfront service. we had umbrellas and seats reserved just for our hotel, which was very nice. the view from our room was gorgeous. we could open the shades to see the ocean every morning. the free breakfasts was good, too. the bartender and receptionist (who I think was the owner) were very nice and welcoming. I came to her with a headache the next morning and she gave me an greek Advil alternative from her purse which I really appreciated.
I love that it appeared to be a more adult oriented hotel. my fiancé and I wanted to enjoy a nice, kid free stay and that’s what we got.
all in all, it was a very nice, luxurious experience and the ambience and beachfront service was exactly what we wanted.
there was a disconnect between what was the free breakfast and what we had to pay for. i had asked for a fresh squeeze orange juice and two waters and one of the guys working there tried charging me 77,00 euros for it. he wrote out 77,00 on a notepad because I wasn’t understanding. when I expressed confusion for the absurd price, he then changed it to 70,00. I still didn’t understand and then wrote out the prices of each item, which came out to 9,00 euros. i handed him 20 euros and he gave me 10 back. not sure what happened, but it was weird.
when the other bartender who seemed to own the bar showed up later in the day, he gave us two cappuccinos on the house. I dk if that was a gesture to apologize for the confusion caused by his staff or just being nice, but we appreciated that.
we also paid extra for the room with the spa bath, but it was never hot. they had someone come try to fix it but it never got hotter than luke warm. could just be a cultural miscommunication between what we expected out of a spa bath. if it wasn’t supposed to get hot tub hot, I would have expected that to be noted in the room details before reserving.
The bed was pretty hard.

Everyday the apartment were clean, also change towels and sheets. it has fridge and kitchen. The Golden Sand is in the front the beach just 5 minute by walk and the third line beach lounger and umbrella free only the guest of Golden Sand. The sea is very clean and beautiful. Peaceful!

The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was great for a small hotel and the room was clean amd spacious. The room also had a nice balcony with a great view and it was bright. It was right next to the beach which was nice and the path leading to the rooms was cute.
The hotel did not quite meet our expectations based on the pictures. It had plastic chairs and tables, the sunbeds were quite cheap and wobbly and they hadn’t put effort into decor. Also the sunbeds on the beach were divided so that the ones we could use were on the worst position and most uncomfortable. Even though the bed was good, we slept very badly as the airconditioning made a huge noise and the shared blanket was quite small. Also the shower left the whole bathroom completely wet and nothing dried there.

Location was great. Just across the beach with beautiful views. Just one block away from the bus stop, so it's easy to go to Chora town for 2.30. Good restaurants around and a few markets to buy basics.
The bed wasn't comfy at all and the room had a really bad smell. We complained about it and they said it was solved a few hours later, but it wasn't. They didn't have another room to stay and we had to accept the way it was. the exact words were " I don't know what to say" ....
The breakfast is ok, but if you are diabetic, you'll need to go and ask every time for stevia as they don't have it available along with the sugar.
