About this villa rental
The villa is located in Croatia's southernmost town, Cavtat, built on a pine-scented peninsula. The medieval town occupies one half the peninsula, the forest covers the other. The villa is on the edge of either. Over 400 year old, it has all modern conveniences, such as a state-of-the-art kitchen, while its old charm has been retained. Cavtat features among the most beautiful towns in Croatia. Its boulevard overlooks a splendid bay, and is lined with restaurants, cafés, and super yachts. It boasts better beaches than Dubrovnik, which is within easy reach by boat or bus. Cavtat is an upmarket town in an upmarket region. Discos are banned in the old town, and the only buzz comes from the restaurant- and café-terraces on the palm-lined boulevard. Yet, even this buzz cannot be heard from the villa, which is built on the top of a small hill (40-odd steps).
This traditional stone house is just about 150m from the old town promenade with the cafes, restaurants and shops. The house can be reached either from the main parking (a 100m path with some 40 steps) or from the town promenade (a slightly longer but less steep climb through medieval streets). However, the house is not convenient for people with walking difficulties.
Entering the property you will find yourself on a spacious and furnished terrace dominated by a huge bougainvillea, and orange and lemon trees. The terrace is a perfect getaway to the sunny beaches that line peninsula, all of which can be reached by foot in 5 to 10min.
The main entrance leads you into the fully equipped kitchen, beyond which there is a partially separated dining area for 8 people and living area with a television set (Netflix, Chromcast) and DVD-player (with a collection of films). The internal stair case leads you to the first floor with a double bedroom and en-suit bathroom with shower, a second double bedroom and a separate bathroom with shower. The second (top) floor has one more double bedroom and twin bedroom, as well as and a separate bathroom with shower. Both top floor bedrooms have lovely views of Tiha bay.
The house is fully air conditioned with units in each bedroom, the kitchen and the living room, and on the top floor landing. There is Internet Wi-Fi and the utility room in outside area equipped with a washing machine and a tumble-dryer.
The closest beach is a rock beach just 100m from the house where you can also find water sports center. Banks, shops, a (modest) green and fish market, a pharmacy and the post office are within a 5-10min walk.
This villa radiates old world charm beauty and is perfect for family or group of friends looking for the Mediterranean way of life.
There is no private parking as the house is situated within the pedestrian area of the old town, but there is a public parking down by the sea. It is paid and a parking card can be provided for 300kn (this was the last year’s fee and will probably remain the same).

We were picked up at the airport and transported to meet Ida at the closest point the driver could drive to. The transfer was a very reasonable cost and I highly recommend it. Ida was waiting and welcomed us, then showed us the way to the villa. It was absolutely beautiful, a wonderful outdoor area for cooking and eating. Fabulous laundry and washing line if you’re there for a while, has drier too. Everything about the villa exceeded expectations, the rooms were great, the layout good and it worked so well for a big family group. The kitchen was very well equipped too.

It was really Nice.. the house was beautiful. The garden is very good , because there is always a spot in the shadow or sun!
Only the stairs to reach the house is heavy.

Fantastic location, beautiful courtyard for evening meals, well equipped kitchen, and everything is spacious and comfortable- even for 4 couples and a very young baby. Aircon that allows very real comfort. Handy to Dubrovnik boats, taxi and beaches as well as restaurants and the charm of the old town

We enjoyed our stay at Cavtat. As all the other reviews state, the stairs/climb to the property are no joke. Our group kept joking about it getting easier but it wasn't. Make sure to pack light or be prepared to haul your luggage!

We booked airport transfers with the owner, these went very smoothly, Ida met our taxi in the car park near the house and took us up to the house.
It's beautifully renovated, spacious, well equipped and set in a very pretty garden. Ida was very helpful giving us lots of information for our stay and her watts App contact details should we need her.
The steps were a challenge on arrival but we soon got used to them, we often took a longer less steep route from the waterfront through the village to the house.
The house was perfect for us, we had a wonderful holiday in Cavtat and would love to return.

Absolutely Fabulous
Terrific villa in a charming old village. There are 3 great beaches within easy walking distance and a nice selection of cafes on the main street. The easy access to Dubrovnik via water taxi was nice (about 30 min away). The caretaker Suzana was very helpful. All in all this was a great place to spend a relaxing week.

Cavtat House on the Hill
A lovely house that suited myself and my friends very well. The 100 or so steps up from the harbour got easier as the week went on! And they gave us a good excuse to eat more without feeling guilty.
Cavtat is a charming town with a beautiful harbour and plenty of restaurants. We particularly recommend Leut and Toranj. The service and the food at both places were excellent.

Family Holiday in Cavtat
We found the property exactly as described on the website. The house was lovely and the air-conditioning was very effective without being noisy.
All the arrangements were very efficient with both the property owner and manager. We appreciated being able to check-in early on our arrival day.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Cavtat, the snorkelling was a highlight for everyone.

Great accommodation for group of friends or large family
From booking to checking out everything was handled perfectly. Both the outside and inside were spacious and well appointed. As 3 couples we were able to have our bedroom and shower/toilet.
The kitchen was well appointed for cooking our own meals and Cavtat had plenty of restaurants if eating out was preferred.
Yes you have to get your luggage up the hill when arriving but it’s well worth it. If returning, this would be the first place we would look to book.

Great stay in Cavtat
The property was lovely and the outside space was great. Make sure you take mosquito spray as we all got several bites. As the property says it has quite a few stairs but for us it wasn’t a problem and helped with the daily exercise.

Beautiful Villa - Amazing location
We were a group if seven, celebrating our joint 70th birthdays. The villa is beautifully situated on the top of a small peninsula and can only be accessed by steps, but we managed! It is very clean and well equipped and Susana, the housekeeper is most helpful.
Cavtat is a beautiful little harbour. Plenty of water-side restaurants and a couple of supermarkets It's easy to get to Dubrovnic by boat or bus.
We so enjoyed our stay here and the owner was most helpful.

Clean and cozy escape in a great location!
My mother and I stayed at this wonderful villa for 8 days. We were greeted by Kitty's lovely housekeeper, Suzana, who provided us with plenty of useful information for our stay. She was kind and welcoming, and was available for contact via Whatsapp.
It is in an exceptional location with easy access to the water, just minutes away in any direction. The house itself is spacious, yet cozy. There is plenty of sleeping space, which remained remarkably warm during our rainy stay. We were very grateful for this sweet escape from the storm. The courtyard is perfectly private and beautifully decorated by assorted flowers and trees.
There are plenty of delicious restaurants within walking distance along with access to boats that will take you to nearby islands of your choice. Be sure also, to check out the delicious little deli right next to the market in the center of town, where we treated ourselves to lovely meats and cheeses. There is also a mouth watering bakery just next door.
This home served as a perfect getaway and I hope to return with more sunshine and time to explore. I would highly recommend staying here.

What a find !
Our first holiday in Croatia and we could have gone anywhere but read the reviews of Cavtat and this superb villa. We were not disappointed, the villa is spacious has a wonderful terrace and located in an excellent position. As mentioned in the owners description there are steps up to the villa and down to the harbour but think of it as a positive as you can work off the superb food from the numerous restaurants in the town. A visit to Beach Bar Little Star is a must, in the words of our kids "Vincent is a legend" The team at Cavtat Watersports are fantastic as is Mario at Sea Kayaking Cavtat. Planning next years trip already.

I could live here!
This is a beautiful property. It's situation in the old town was a great location. We could walk everywhere and there were steps but we quite enjoyed the built in exercise. The house itself was so beautifully renovated and there was everything we needed. Each room was of a good size and the garden was lovely. A separate laundry room was a bonus. There were mosquitoes but they weren't really that annoying. A 2 minute walk took you to the old town full of restaurants and the harbour full of super yachts. The little supermarket had most things we needed and a slightly expensive market ran every day too. The fish stall was limited but very good with the days catch. There are 'beaches' on the peninsular which are concrete areas where you can hire sun beds for about £3.60 for the day or you can lie on rocks anywhere. The sea was beautiful and we swam all the time. It was never really busy even at this peak time. We enjoyed seeing the sunset at Beach bar little star where the drinks were pricey but the sunset and the atmosphere priceless. We hired paddle boards and canoes from Mario at the Beach bar, had a speed boat morning with Watersports Cavtat with the extra fun of parasailing and had a day on a sailing boat with Dubrovnik daily sailing. All were brilliant and the locals were very friendly. We didn't want to leave.

Lovely large villa
This is a great property and we soon got used to the steps which of course we knew about before booking. Caveat is a lovely spot and was just right for what we needed- four friends going away to chill - good restaurants and people watching, with Dubrovnik and other islands not far by boat.
The only difficulty we had were the mosquitos which were prevalent day and night- we soon had repellent at the ready at all times and wouldn’t stop us going again. Lovely holiday in a lovely location.

A wonderful place, very highly recommended!
We have just returned from Kitty's house and absolutely loved it. It's in the most beautiful location in the old town, peaceful and traffic-free and very close to beaches as well as all facilities in the village. Everyone in our party (the over-60s as well as the under-5s) found the steps very manageable and the path to the beaches through the pine trees delightful. The house itself is beautifully renovated & maintained and equipped with everything we needed. We spent many blissful hours relaxing in the beautiful walled garden, with oleanders and bougainvillaea in bloom! An absolute treat!

Wonderful situation, well appointed - ideal!!!
As a group of 7 women this villa suited our needs perfectly. It is very close to everything yet secluded too. Suzanna was wonderful, so welcoming and helpful. Cavtat is a wonderful place to stay, rather than Dubrovenik old town itself. Cavtat is beautiful and relaxed. It has great restaurants and bars, lovely walks, the clearest of seas containing a myriad of sea life including dolphins and an overall ambiance which makes you slow down. Dubrovenik is easily accessible via bus number 10 or, as we did, by boat. This cost us the equivalent of £7 return and was a great way to arrive in Dubrovenik. The old town is interesting, clean and worth visiting. However, to walk the wall you have to pay (over £20 each). Game of Thrones watchers will enjoy spotting Kings Landing images and the 'walk of shame' area. Dubrovenik is much more expensive than Cavtat - double the price for a meal and drink - another reason to stay in Cavtat!
Without reservation we thank Kitty and Suzanna for all of their help prior to our visit and during. We had an amazing break and would return without hesitation. The steps to the villa would make it unsuitable for the elderly or infirm but we liked the workout!!

Perfect
This is an idyllic house in a perfect location for our girls weekend away. It is clean, spacious and well equipped, the garden is beautiful to sit in the mornings and evenings. Susanna was lovely and very helpful. we explored the local area, we chartered a private boat from Dubrovnik boats who picked us up in Cavtat in the morning and we spent the whole day exploring the Elafiti Islands, swimming, snorkelling and had lunch at a beautiful fish restaurant, we spent evenings watching the sunset from 'Beach Bar Little Star'
we would highly recommend this house and would love to come back

Beautiful Villa
We were really, really impressed with this villa. It was immaculately clean, stylish and well equipped. The reliable wi-fi was an essential for us, allowing the children to play on their iPads in the evenings. The villa has a dishwasher and laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a very helpful caretaker, Suzana, who lives locally and speaks good English. The villa is well positioned, being only a couple of minutes walk from the beach and the shops and restaurants in the harbour. We found it is perfect for two families of four, as there are two bedrooms plus a bathroom on each floor (plus an additional en suite to the first floor double bedroom) so each family has some space and privacy.
Note, however, that the villa in at the top of a steep hill. The steps up nearly finished us off in the heat and would definitely be a challenge for babies/toddlers and pushchairs, not to mention older or less mobile people. It cannot be accessed by car, so reaching it was a bit of a shock when the taxi dropped us off at the bottom of the steps with all our cases!
The walled garden was absolutely beautiful, with plenty of outdoor seating and shade. We had some wonderful evening meals in the garden and there is also a bbq, although we did not use it. However beware the mosquitoes and other biting creepy crawlies - Cavtat seemed plagued with the Asian Tiger mosquito which bites during the day and does not seem at all phased by repellant! We adults were eaten alive, although fortunately the mozzies did not bother the kids.
Cavtat is about 10 miles south of Dubrovnik and we caught the water taxi up the coast, which run about once an hour. It is a lovely journey and only takes about 45 minutes to get there. There is plenty of boating, water sports and kayaking around the Cavtat peninsula; kayaking was great fun and not too expensive. The restaurants were generally pretty good and the ice cream shops fantastic. The harbour itself is stunningly beautiful and we have never seen such clear water that makes you actually want to jump in. There are a few small beaches around the peninsula, but take some surf shoes for the beach as they are rocky rather than sandy.
The other point to mention is that Cavtat is under a flight path from the nearby airport, so it could get a bit noisy with quite low flying planes. It would not put us off going again though, as Cavtat itself is so lovely and you do stop noticing them pretty quickly.

Perfect stay in a beautiful accommodation
This beautiful house is very close to the waterfront and the harbour. We really enjoyed the big and amazing garden / yard. The house is quite big and has enough space for 8 people. There is everything you need in the accommodation.
Dubrovnik is just a 25 minutes trip by bus or a boat trip of 45 minutes away.

Late summer break
Our initial intention was to book a holiday break in Dubrovnik, however having stumbled over the property in Cavtat decided this might be a better option, and this turned out to be the case. The property is very well maintained and equipped to a high level. The garden is very pretty with lots of seating areas. The restaurants and bars are nearby and plentiful. We enjoyed some lovely meals in particular, fish dishes, which we found not too expensive. The water taxis were a delightful mode of transport to Dubrovnik and surrounding islands. We were able to hire bikes and spent a fabulous day in the mountains and lower valleys. The local residents are extremely friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great holiday and we would recommend the place and the accommodation to our friends.

Beautiful authentic house
This is one of the loveliest houses and settings we have stayed. The local character and charm of Cavtat is enhanced by the beautiful location and style of the house. We enjoyed the huge outdoor terrace so much, eating breakfast there each morning and enjoying an early evening drink. My children loved the spacious house and garden and although you need to be fit and active to manage the steps up, this did not spoil our enjoyment at all - only a few minutes down to the harbour and waterfront where most activity is. We were grateful for the peace and quiet of the location. The surrounding area is delightful with endless walking paths, outstanding scenery, great local restaurants, bakery and ice cream parlour. We bought fresh food from the market. Fabulous access to boat trips and transport so car hire not essential, but we chose to explore around Cavtat and found lots of interesting things to see and do. We will definitely come back and I am recommending this house to friends and family.

Fabulous location!
Nice fully modernised house with very efficient and welcome air conditioning! Outside seating areas are lovely with always somewhere in either the sun or shade. Only issues were the Mosquitos and wasps that were in abundance unless you kept the windows shut (hence welcome air con) and also the numerous steps down (and inevitably up) from and back to the house. Would definitely stay again though despite insect bites as it's a real gem! Cocktail bar in village us fabulous!!

Accommodation in Cavtat
We loved our stay in Cavtat! The villa was delightful, with all we needed for a group of six. The outdoor terrace had a lovely ambience especially in the evenings. The many restaurants provided delicious opportunities to dine out and the swimming was magical. Much nicer then staying in Dubrovnik which was a picturesque bus ride away.
