This villa is in an excellent location, 45 minutes from Faro airport and with a small supermarket and some restaurants and bars with a couple of minutes walk. It's also 20 minutes in a car from Vilamoura and Albufeira old town, and roughly 15 minutes in a car to a large supermarket. The pool is fantastic and got sunlight for 12hrs of the day, and the outside BBQ area is also excellent. The property was clean and was a good size for our party of 8, and communication with the owner was easy, with quick responses. The WiFi was a little unreliable at times, so something to bear in mind, and some of the doors and floors also creaked quite a lot, which could be challenging with young children in the villa. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone

I stumbled on the resort of Falesia which I’m so pleased I did. The area is beautiful with a very local feel to it. The villa was spacious and the pool an absolute dream where many a day was had lounging by it. The kitchen was a bit tired and would benefit from a refresh. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely return to Falesia.

We stayed at Jan's house in the off-season. So, a bit of rain and ever changing weather. Wifi did not work during our stay - but Jan is seeing to that for future guests.

We had a lovely stay at the villa, it’s a little dated but clean and tidy. We were two families of four and there was plenty of space. We had a couple of minor issues but Jan the owner was always very responsive. The location is brilliant, next to a supermarket and several restaurants, bars, ice cream parlour and shops. Few minuets walk to the lovely beach. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Sadly my husband and I were unable to fly to Portugal due to injury in the UK. The rest of the party thought that the villa was superb from the swimming pool, airy living area to the well appointed bed rooms.

We had a great time in the house. It is spacious, clean, well equipped, with a really nice swimming pool. The location is excellent - you can walk everywhere, with plenty of choice for food and drink. Thanks for a great holiday.

The property is spacious and stunning. Outside areas including pool amazing. Located close to beach and very close to supermarket, restaurants and bars. A charming area. Plenty to keep you occupied on a relaxing break but if you want bright lights and nightlife maybe go to Albufeira which is a short shuttle drive away easily booked at the tourist information office across the road. I hope to come back in the future.

If you are looking for an perfectly located villa in the amAlgarve, look no further. Beach, tennis courts, lunch/dinner opportunities, super market within 2 minute walk. Super convenient!

This property was really amazing. It was clean and spacious and gave us the time together as a family that we were looking for after a long summer. It was in a great location with everything we needed in walking distance. Would definitely stay again.

The house was spacious and clean and the outside area and pool a real treat. The property is ideally located with a supermarket just metres away and a lovely square with bars and restaurants less than 5 minutes walk. The beach is around 10 mins walk and lovely and sandy. We would definitely return to the property and the area and already talking about a trip next year!

This is a very spacious property with an excellent pool and sunbathing area, plenty of bathrooms and walking distance to the gorgeous Falesia beach. Having the small supermarket so close was really handy for us to pop and fetch supplies. Jan and the housekeeper were very flexible around our arrival and departure times, which was really helpful. They also responded quickly, and resolved, a small hot water problem we had one morning It would be useful if the notes about the property, facilities and local area were in English as well as German. This way we might have worked out the air conditioning system a little sooner!

Overall wonderful time at Villa Doura 2. Beautiful outdoors area. Really enjoyed grilling outdoors and swimming in the pool. Short walk to the beach. Excellent convenience supermarket next door food options and tours agency all within 5 minutes walk or less. Jan was super responsive. The housekeeper only speaks Portuguese but we were able to communicate fine.

Our group of two families from the USA truly enjoyed our stay at Jan’s house. The house was spacious for our group and we enjoyed the multiple outside spaces for dining depending on the sun of the day. The location was excellent with food and shopping a few minutes away and the beach ~10 min walk. The pool was a fun and warm break from the ocean; our kids were in it all the time. Falésia is a scenic beach that is not crowded like some areas closer to Albufeira. Jan was gracious and his Portuguese house caretaker made sure we were comfortable.

Me and my girl friends had a WONDERFUL long weekend at Villa Douro! Jan was quick to respond during booking and check in was simple. Almost too good to be true, we had everything we needed and only a short (& cheap) Uber into the main town of Albuferia. Cant wait to book again and go back to the beautiful Villa Douro!! Sarah

Staying at Villa Douro with my wife, son and wife and 2 year old and daughter and husband and 1 year old has been a wonderful experience. The villa exceeded all expectations on every count. The maid comes every day so the cleanliness was first class and to have 2 high chairs and 2 travel cots provided was exceptional. The poolside furniture and outside tables chairs and parasols were plentiful and the pool itself great. Three upstairs en suite bedrooms have sun terraces and the beds are comfy. The kitchen is so spacious and well stocked and leads to a very pleasant outdoor, shaded seating area. Forget about using Intermarche, Lidl or Aldi-the local supermarket is absolutely first class and sells everything. I even managed to buy a birthday candle for a 1 year old. The bakery in there is great for fresh bread/croissants in the morning. Having a car we did go to the Lidl at Boliqueime to stock up on bottles of beer and the ‘own brand’ Castle Garcia costing 1.6euros and just as good if not better. It is called Cooperative Agricola de Felgueiras with a blue and cream label. and is a green wine with a slight fizz and not too alcoholic 9.5%. The location of the villa is brilliant and the square has restaurants and bars aplenty. We are in them all once but by far and away the best eaterie is Quinta do Mel. Leave the villa and walk through the Pine Sun Park and exit at the far end turning right down a slight hill and follow the big brown sign. Without doubt this will be the best food you have tasted on the Algarve and all at a reasonable price. Wednesday is the barbecue evening with entertainment. The walk to the beach is easy but there are a flight of stairs down to the sand and once there you can walk (easier at low tide) all the way to Olhos de Aqua named after the fresh water springs that still appear in the sand. For the first time ever I used Uber and would recommend anyone who doesn’t want to drive too much to forget about a hire car and use Uber. For example, it is about 11 euros to Albufeira and 30 to the airport. I suspect you will have got the message by now that we have all been blown away with our 10 days here in Açoteias _ we had a fantastic holiday.

The Property was as described. Situated in a great location just a few minutes walk from the beach and local amenities. The perfect villa to enjoy a relaxing and quiet holiday. Looking forward to a return visit.

We had an absolutely amazing stay in Jan's home! The villa is a quick 35/40 minute drive from Faro Airport. Less than 2 minutes away from the villa is a plaza filled with restaurants, pubs, and a supermarket. The convenience of this made our stay even more special. Walk 5 minutes to Praia de Falesia beach and experience what the Algarve is known for- stunning beach landscapes. The beach wasn't too crowded and our group could choose to spend our days poolside or oceanside. The house itself is outfitted with every amenity possible. Each room featured an en suite bathroom, resulting in ultimate comfort for our group. Thank you Jan for supplying us with an amazing homebase for our group of friends. To future renters, don't hesitate to book this beautiful villa for your next holiday!

We were 2 families and had a very relaxing time. The villa is spacious and clean. The pool was fab - kids loved it. The local restaurants are great as is the beach - miles of beautiful sandy beach.

We have just returned from villa Douro 2 after spending two weeks in this truly lovely villa. We are a group of eight adults (four couples) and found the villa very spacious and well equipped. The outside areas were more than we expected and the location of the villa was excellent, an easy walk to the supermarkets, the square with lovely bars and restaurants and also the amazing Falesia beach. Getting out and about was easy too as we used taxis and buses with no problems at all. The owner Jan has been very helpful and informative when we have contacted him, always quick to respond to any question asked. A few minor things we feel could be easily rectified are regarding the bed linen and pillows which we felt need replacing but other than that we have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful villa to anyone looking for a place for a group or family holiday. We truly didn’t want our holiday to finish and hope to return again to Villa Douro 2.

We have just returned from villa Douro after a 9 day stay. 4 adults, 1 teen and 3 kids. The villa is huge!!! 4 good sized bedrooms and 5 bathrooms! It is so well equipped with everything you could ask for, so much crockery etc and BBQ to cook great meals. We had maid service nearly every day who were friendly and discreet. We had no troubles whatsoever, air conditioning was easy to use but only needed it one day as house is airy and breezy. The house could do with a little updating but that didn't matter to us. The huge positive is the pool area. Clean, large and just beautiful. We spent all 9 days relaxing there. The beach is a very short walk, bit hilly and steep for the little one in the heat but apart from that, it's stunning. We spent most evenings in the square (1 min walk) eating, drinking and enjoying some live music. Lovely buzzing atmosphere and friendly locals. The supermarket is fab, no need to go any further for one. Cheap and literally next door! Perfect! We will definitely come back here, it was wonderful for a relaxing time away.
