About this house rental
Step into the past with a visit to this incredible custom ranch-style home, built with all the unique details of the iconic architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The brick exterior with monochromatic colors, a cleverly designed stack stone fireplace, and a rectangular picture window all add to the charm and character of this mid-century modern gem. It's truly a part of an era when stylish, simple Usonian-style small houses were designed for the middle-class American family's way of life. Think big band music, cool furniture, community gatherings, and wholesome family times.
The home is located on a beautiful corner lot, with views of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods, and just a short walk to charming Old Colorado City, full of shops, restaurants, and parks. With so many attractions just a short drive away, this home is the perfect place to experience all the great things that Colorado has to offer.
Outdoors, a sunny and bright patio is perfect for soaking in the 320 annual days of sunshine. Inside, you'll find an updated mid-century modern kitchen bathed in natural light, with a wood-burning fireplace in the living room. The master suite and two other bedrooms are located on the main floor.
The basement serves as a family-friendly entertainment zone, boasting a wet bar, big screen TV, and the perfect place for a game of ping pong. There's also a full-size clothes washer and dryer, and there's plenty of parking too!
This beautiful house offers a trip down memory lane, back to a simpler time and a way of living that many of us still cherish today.
It's a 45-minute scenic drive to Cripple Creek, travel 50 miles further west over some of the most beautiful Colorado Mountain passes and you'll arrive in Summit County. The ski towns of Breckenridge, Keystone, Frisco, Dillon, and Copper Mountain are great places to ski in the winter and enjoy the mountain hospitality and serenity that abounds.
Red Rocks Amphitheater and Fiddler's Green concert are in nearby Denver and host some of the world's finest musicians.

This location was the very best! Central to USAFA, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, and most of Colorado Springs. The house had plenty of space with lots of things to do when you were not out doing things. Especially enjoyed drinking coffee out on front patio looking at the peak! Would 100% stay here again

Our only regret with this stay is that we couldn’t extend trip because our boys were leaving for collage. This house is the ultimate vacation house ! We went out everyday day to our excursions all so close and came back cooked out in backyard and watched Netflix’s as as a family in the outstanding backyard. Only one rainy night where I best my husband in ping pong and poker!! This is your vacation house! We enjoyed every morning having coffee and breakfast in front yards admiring Mountain View’s . Again my last regret I could stay there longer or buy property. Nancy checked in but we were so taken care of my only regret didn’t get to meet her in person!

We had a wonderful week at this house. It was in the perfect location to visit Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, and Cañon City. We walked to the Old Colorado City strip from the house a few times to walk the shops and eat dinner. Nancy was an excellent host and the property was exactly as described. Would stay here again and will recommend this place to friends.

We had a wonderful stay at the Retro Retreat. It reminded me of when I used to stay at my grandma's house; I felt immediately comfortable. The house is clean and cozy (my grandma also had a rotary phone!). The kids loved ping pong, the hot tub and were impressed by the large outdoor TV. We ate dinner outdoors on the patio and took in the amazing views. The location is perfect. It was so close to all the things we had planned: Garden of the Gods, Manitou springs, Pikes Peak and the Flying W Ranch (I highly recommend the chuck wagon meal there). It's also within walking distance of restaurants and shops in Old Colorado City. Nancy was amazing and allowed us to check in early, which was so helpful after a long morning of travel from the East Coast. We were able to get settled, then walked to lunch. The only downside was we didn't book enough days! It was the perfect place to start our CO vacation visiting family.

Very well stocked...had everything we needed and wonderful communication.

The location is perfect. Walkable to shops, restaurants and bars. Short drive to Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak Cog Railway.
The amazing retro home included a Rotary Phone. :). Very clean, great views from the front. Visits from mule deer while sitting on the front patio.

We had a great time and really enjoyed the property. The location was perfect for our adventures and the house had wonderful spaces to gather as a group of 8 or in smaller groupings (including "seniors," and a 5 and 7 yr old). The inside and outside living spaces gave us lots of options, including hot tub, fireplace, dinner on the patio, and even views of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. We had plenty of parking in a quiet and nice area with a cul de sac street. The accommodations are pictured accurately and Nancy was easy to work with. We'd plan to stay here again if we return for another family gathering to Colorado Springs and area. I highly recommend this VRBO!

We spent one night in this cute home as we traveled between national parks with our 4 young adult kids. Everyone in our group had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the entertainment it offered from ping pong to the outdoor space with the hot tub and corn hole. It was a great break from our strenuous hiking and skiing. The host was gracious and communication was excellent!

This place is charming, spacious and well equipped.
We made use of the hot tub daily and enjoyed the patio fireplace. The large tv downstairs made for great family viewing. The ping pong table was a big hit on the daily schedule as was bananagram! Something you don’t see much of was the live plants…so big points there too. Can’t beat the view of Pike’s Peak every morning with coffee either. We had a fantastic time 👍

Our family enjoyed our pre-holiday stay immensely! From ping pong, card games to football game watching while in the hot tub with the outdoor fireplace roaring, we also enjoyed the close proximity to a grocery store, North Pole and a charming Italian restaurant, Paravicinis, nearby. We had a relaxing and memory making time. Highly recommend this place! In fact, we plan to make it an annual getaway!

This home and Nancy impressed us right away. Great communication!
We were in town for a wedding, and couldn't resist staying here for our base. The views out the front are amazing from the front patio or inside. The outside back patio was amazing as well, and great to listen to and enjoy the rain showers.
The home was as clean as you can get! The main bedroom had a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The AC works great in every room.
There is NOTHING I would change about this home, except I would own it! :) This home is so relaxing, with the Garden rocks one way, and Pikes Peak the other way. You can even see the highway, and the lights going each way. Watch the rain move in. Enjoy the cool breeze and no mosquitoes (when we were there, but a few black flies that thought I was juicy). Great location but little traffic.

We had the MOST amazing time at this house. Nancy is absolutely wonderful!
The house is perfect! The kids had a blast and had the whole downstairs to themselves which made these momma’s real happy. Haha!
Hot tub and fireplace while watching TV at night was “chefs kiss”.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to make all the food our foodie hearts could make.
It was an easy walk down to the main strip of Old Colorado City.
10/10 would recommend and planning to stay again!

Nancy’s property was the perfect home for our stay. It was my 85 year old grandmother, my two kids (13 and 9) and myself. The home is located on a quiet street, a few blocks to the strip and about 10 min to Manitou and Springs. Nancy called prior to our arrival and was in constant communication to ensure all was good. The hot tub was on and ready for us when we arrived which was much appreciated after the long drive. The backyard is awesome and used every day as well as the ping pong table. Nancy has thought of every detail and was a very pleasant host to interact with. I highly recommend.

This was a very nice, and spacious home. We enjoyed sitting out front of the house in the mornings; along with picnicking out back of the house in the evenings. The ping-pong table and poker table was a fun added benefit!

We drove up from Texas to escape the heat and let our girls (ages 5, 7, 9) explore the mountains. The property is set up very nicely both inside and out, with plenty of sitting areas (including a great view from the front) and amenities to enjoy. Our girls especially enjoyed the basement with ping pong table and other games. Many nights were spent roasting s'mores over the fire on the back patio. However, the best part of the whole stay were the owners next door. Nancy and Al were incredibly warm and welcoming, gave us great advice on things to do in the area, and were just fantastic hosts overall. The setup, location, and next door "local guides" made for a fantastic time. We will definitely look to stay here again when we come back!

The kitchen in this property was stocked! Absolutely fantastic. All the beds were comfy and the outdoor patio was lovely in the rain. The retro vide was done great and I have never been in a place so clean. The only thing I would improve or be aware of is seating for eating. The barstools are so tall they don’t really work with the counter. So we all found chairs and balanced our plates. Not the end of the world- but something to be aware when you book it.

Finding nature in town!!
We had a wonderful stay! We were close to the downtown area for shopping and eating. We were also surprised that we had so much interaction with nature so close to town. Great areas to gather outside and the owner lives next door so they were very attentive during our stay. We had fun playing ping pong downstairs!! We would stay here again.

Spacious and fun rental
The property was spacious for all of us to come together yet have room to ourselves. The outdoor fireplace is perfect for keeping warm at night, sharing stories and memories, and making yummy s’mores! The game room is fantastic fun and entertainment for the evening after a day out exploring! The owners were so nice and attentive to helping us figure out this new age of cable TV for the football game in the background. Great rental and owners!

Nancy was a great hostess!! Very responsive and very friendly. The house was very clean and well equipped. The home is quite large with a lot of space for many guests and is a fun mix of mid-century modern with updated bathrooms and kitchen. Great location too! Very close to Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy and Old Colorado City. We loved the outdoor space and drinking coffee in the morning and wine in the evening while looking at the mountains.
