Ontspannen verblijven aan het water.

Goed ontbijt. Goed diner. Ook hier personeelskrapte, maar pakte niet verkeerd uit. Mooi uitzicht op de bergen en het water. Uitermate vriendelijke medewerkers met humor en een missie om de accommodatie beter te maken. En -bonus- een wijngaard op het terrein.

De bedden. Alhoewel daar een diversiteit in zat. Bij de boxsprings waren de veren te goed te merken. Gemeld, bekend en matrassen aan het vervangen. Het hotel zou aan kracht winnen als iedere kamer openslaande deuren zou hebben en een eigen buiten. Dan mag ook de prijs van de hotelkamer naar boven (een investering die zich terugverdient).

Beautiful location

Unkempt garden , dated and tired , carpet tiles were dirty , shower tile grout dirty , noisy , no room fridge, poor service on Restaurant , food very ordinary - we expected much better

Expensive and bad value for money.

The property is in a nice location, great view and garden.

Room was small, view was not the best, shower dirty, expensive compared to what you get, breakfast was boring and not very good. Room had an echo and poorly designed in terms of sound, cobwebs in the window, old room with no power outlets by bed.

We kregen zoals gevraagd een mooie, rustige kamer MET UITZICHT … TOP.ER LIEVE VRIENDELIJKE BEGELEIDING.

Het dinertje was lekker, maar het vlees niet zacht genoeg naar Belgische normen …🤗

Superb

Location by the lake was excellent. It was interesting to find a lot of artworks in the halls of the hotel. Good breakfast.

A small detail about the bafhroom: the toilet feeder was hanged in a way that made it uncomfortable to use the toilet.

Thorbjornrud is a lovely historic hotel still family owned that welcomes everyone.

Thorbjornrud is an older hotel that has a couple of additions made to it. This is not a modern sleek hotel. It is the type of hotel that immerses one into the history of the location as well as the comfort of scandinavia. The hotel and especially the rooms were spotless. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast that was included was very good. There were many visitors the day we stayed so the chefs were scrambling to keep up, which to their credit, they did. Situated on a beautiful Norwegian lake, the hotel offers views and walking paths in all directions. We saw many people walking to the outdoor water recrecreation center that sits on the lake in a cove next to the hotel. The local people have a stronger constitution than I because it was only 16 degrees out and cloudy. It looked like fun though. A smart move on the owners part was to add glamping. Each of the glamping stations in set up on a wooden platform looking out to the water. They were full with families enjoying the long summer day and sunshine still at 10:30 pm. Thank goodness for the blockout curtains in my room. If I had more time in the area I would have enjoyed staying longer and taking in the surrounding community. If you have the opportunity to visit, you will be doing yourself a favor. Enjoy.

The additions are single floor long buildings that means one has a long walk to the room pulling suitcases. But that is not really a negative, just an obsertvation.

A unique experience not far from Oslo

Breakfast and dinner where good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Near a lake.

Old fashion and simple but can possibly be considered part of the charm. Could not adjust the temperature in the room.

It was an absolutely fantastic place and they also serve great food!

The place was peaceful and really quiet. If you really want to have a vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this place is perfect!

cold hot food at breakfast, cold food at evening meal. No choice at evening meal no menus Annoying hassles from house keeping staff trying to clean rooms etc one occasion where the room was nor visited at all, very poor service reported bathroom sink blocked was never fixed No instructions what so ever regarding timings for breakfast, dinner etc. no instruction on how to use the so called “coffee machine”

Lucky choice in the nature,50 minutes from Oslo

This was an unexpected surprise. The building lands on a flat hill who is 50mts from the beach,surrounded by green areas and very peaceful.We had a quiet and sunny room on the backyard and we really enjoyed the big windows, the calm and the room size,a little superior than the average and then,more comfortable.The bathroom is essential but functional, everything worked properly.The day after we enjoyed a wide choice for our breakfast in the restaurant hall.It definetely was a happy choice between our hadeland glassverk visit and the very very near Kistefos Museet with his stunning mix of modern art and wild. The reception service was also very nice to find us a room with 2 single beds as last minute request,thank you!

As in many not recently update structures,i would suggest to update the tv with internet connection ones for those who have children or want to spend a movie night during their stop over.But really,this is not essential for fast stops like mine

Tasteful interior and exterior: cozy courtyards, professional artwork in the lobby and elsewhere, inspiring view from the window to the fjord. Coffee machine with coffee in the room, organic hygiene products in the bathroom, generous, exceptional breakfast.

Hotel staff were nice and friendly and helpful. Very convenient location to Hadeland Glassverk (5 min. walk) and Kistefos Museum (5 min. by car), and magnificent view of Randsfjorden lake.

Walls between rooms were so thin that you can hear voices and noises from next doors. No fridge, no safe box in the room.
