good communication we speak:
DEUTSCH, GERMAN, ENGLISH & RUSSIAN and will any other language as well
The place is well connected to all other city parts.
The neighborhood around is full of life, an atmosphere that artists like Pablo Picasso or Cartier Bresson would have loved.
In front of the door you experience Old Europe at is best. So you don´t need to listen to a tourist guide who tells you about the great past and the extraordinary of that place. Its still there.
The historic market around the corner is unique and nowhere else in Europe you find places like this for such a price. Try the home made honey and apricot jam from the farmers who come in the morning together with a fresh white bred or the Hungarian Kifli. Also don´t forget the world famous Hungarian Salami. It goes best with yellow paprika, white bred and fresh butter.
The cheese stand on the right side is outstanding and provides you with home made products and fresh milk. Ask for the smoked cheese.
Bring one of the empty glass bottles from my kitchen and the nice woman (speaks English) will fill it up right in front of you with fresh cow or goat milk.
Opposite the cheese stand you find a place where they sell bred and yoghurt. The yoghurt is the best one I ever tasted in my life. They offer it with rasberries, strawberries, peaches and many other tastes.
Ask also for kefir and turorudi rools - its a chream cheese filled chocolate roll. This one will make your day.
The café Csiga on the corner of the market hall is a good place for a cheap breakfast or a good night beer. Its filled with intellectuals and artists. On the opposite side there is a Gulash restaurant - cheap and great to experience.
Four minutes walk away you can allready enter the famous New York coffeehouse, as big as half a soccer field. But there are other ones around the city who are great too and cheaper.
Just start to stroll throughout the streets and you will love it. To the river Duna you walk arround 6 to 8 minutes. Depends on your speed. In that direction you will find other nice little shops of the neighbourhood.
Dont forget to pack your bathing suits and the best after your arrival is to go to the Szechenyi Fürdo. You can take the tram to Octogon and then change to the second oldest subway in Europe the Földalatti in the direction to Mexico Ut. The station of the thermal bath has the same name like the bath. Its a 15 minutes trip or 6 minutes by taxi. After the first hour in the both bathes, try the Thai Massage for 30 Euro per hour. There are Thai masseuses from Wat Pho in Thailand. You dont get a Thai Massage anywhere else that cheap and good in Europe. Its almost like on the beach of Ko Samui and its very warm on the place they do it. So it feels totally right. After all that get a bottle mineral water out of the machine in the entrance hall. Even better the fresh Orange Juice from another machine, before you leave.
For dinner find out about the Menza Restaurant near Octogon at Liszt Ferenc tér 2. Two people can eat for 30 Euro with drinks. Its really high quality. For the evening its better to make a reservation.
for cheap taxi please call (phone number hidden) - its cheaper then the normal one and they speak english
tram in front of the house every 5 minutes
If you need pick up from the airport or train station, please let me know and I can send a driver.

The apartment is beautiful and spacious. The location is very convenient once you work out the trams and metro, but even to walk to many sites of interest. It was perfect for us. There are rules around noise and disruption for neighbours which is fair enough and wasn’t a problem for us. If you are a rowdy group stay elsewhere. There is no aircon which can be challenging but two electric fans were ok. A third one didn’t work. I put 4 stars for description as an ‘outdoor space ‘ was mentioned and this is a very small balcony at the front of the property on the main rd or a communal walkway at the door - but people are asked not to stand and talk there. I guess you could sit and read or something but it is a walkway. Maybe an idea to ask about any additional charges that will be mentioned with your check in info before booking. On the whole the apartment was fine for us. We met with family there so were able to use an iron at their apartment ( there isn’t one here). We had a great stay and a fabulous holiday.

The apartment was very nice and nicer than expected. Very clean and tidy. The area is in a good location we all enjoyed our trip away.

Great amenities at the apartment; it had everything we needed and was very clean. It's also spacious so a good option when traveling with a family.
Accessing the apartment was simple since the host gave very clear instructions.

this review actually is for the "design" apartment not the "grand" apartment.the apartment is exactly as pictured. it is spacious and decorated in modern minimalist style which is my personal preference. also, there is a wardrobe filled with extra towels so you do not have to worry about using the same towel for days. what i also appreciated is the fact that all the cleaning tools and detergents are in the house. it is nice to have the tools to keep my temp home clean.what i want to add in more details in this review is its location. it is on the Pest side of budapest. if you do your homework, you'll know and notice that 1) there are much fewer VBRO properties available on the buda side. the ones you can find are mostly very dated and with stairs to negotiate. that is because buda side is hilly and very residential and not much going on. 2) in contrast, Pest is where all the chic restaurants, bars, ethic eateries, shops are. it is also flat. so if you have mobility problem, this is where you want to be. frank's apartment is in the midst of everything. bar district, many beer/burger places. one of the cheapest and best draft beer/burger places is right down stairs on the same block. and because of the neighborhood, you can go upscale but also find some amazing food at very cheap price such as doner kebab and turkish take out. 3) by the same token, this apartment is located on a very busy main road of budapest with practically non stop traffic of cars and old trams. street noise is significant. but it was not an issue for us as it was cool enough at night for us to keep all the windows closed and frank has great double sets of windows.another thing about the Design apartment is that there is a condo construction going on at the back of house. on monday and tuesday, the banging started at 7:20 am. however it was not a big issue for us either because it was just me and my husband staying in this large place and two main bedrooms are at the front of the apartment and there are interior doors we could close to block most of the noise. i think budapest is just a noisy city and you'd be hard pressed to find any home that is better than frank's.

Large apartment in good location
The apartment was well located, close to public transport and a short metro ride from city centre. The apartment is a good size and is on the top floor of the complex with easy access via lift. We stayed in September with temperatures in the high 20s. The apartment was very warm and there is no airconditioning - we opened the windows for a through breeze but you then had traffic noise. With windows shut the apartment is quiet. We also had difficulty regulating the shower temperature (either tepid or too hot if you turned the water heater up) and the beds were very firm. Enjoyed our time in Budapest.

Pest near downtown
We loved the size of the flat. Large lovely old school doors and windows. There is no TV, no AC and no cold water line to the shower. But we were busy sightseeing and didn't need a TV. It was hot but there is an adequate number of fans throughout. The shower was never cool enough for a shower in August and turning down the tank temperature only helped the temperature a bit. But... when Frank was available he did help. However, he lives out of country so if you have a problem or are in need of personal assistance you may be in trouble. We speak Magyar so no problems for us. The metro is just down the street.

The Greatest Place I ever rented 5stars
We came for a long weekend over the 1st of may. Check In was super easy, also for late check in during the night. Then we discovered the apartment. It looked so much better then on the images and there where great already. We fell in love with the coffee machine the next morning. Everything worked fine. The kids got a banana strawberry milkshake (fresh Hungarian strawberries from the market across the street) and they where happy. Great grocery around the corner, so we had a superb first breakfast. The flat is very big and has a lot of space just for the space what is great as well. The furniture and style of the apartment adds a special note - would say a modern Bourgeois style with little extra top notch things, like the Geneva Sound System. I always wanted something like this for my own home. Here it is. The price for the night is much less then a double room in the nearby hotels. After the first nights we got so used to the place that the family did not want to return home. Thanks so much for this trip to.... We come back....

This was one of the nicest flats we have stayed in. It was perfect for our 4 night stay to explore the beautiful city of Budapest. The location was amazing, so close to everything. And the communication from Frank. Great!

spotless and great location
An amazing apartment so well located only a short walk from plenty of restaurants and pubs as well as the city centre and other attractions. The apartment itself was absolutely spotless and really had everything that you could need for a trip to Budapest.

nice and central and good price
Early spring is perfect for Budapest. The flat is very big and feels great. High ceilings, wooden floors. Top notch the Geneva Sound System (have one at home as well) and the great Italian coffee maker. We felt very good. Only thing I need to say, that my wife wants now to renovate our apartment, after staying in Franks. Clean and brandnew look. :) Thanks

nice and quiet
I arrived late at night and check in was super easy. We all, my wife and our two daughters, loved the place right from the first moment. It was a good budget deal. Thanks a lot

great place for less
We (4 adults) studied all flats for a big flat with lots of space and high end decoration. we decided to stay in Franks apartment and we where right with it. Great flat right in the centre, you can walk from here to everywhere or take the tram (comes every minute). The flat got everything you need. The rain shower is outstanding and the floor heating in the bathroom as well. We liked it a lot and highly recomend it. Thanks a lot

wirklich tolle Wohnung

Beautiful apartment, good location
We stayed three nights here with our 2 adult children. This apartment is beautiful as the pictures show. High quality throughout. Pride of ownership shows. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Budapest. Frank, the owner was very thorough and easy to work with. Appreciated the tourist information he provided. Great coffee maker too. Close to the metro which we found was key in Budapest. We appreciated the use of the washing machine. Our only area of improvement would be warmer water in the shower(on demand water heater I think), but a minor detail. This was a very good value and I would recommend staying here.

Vintage apartment in Pest side of the city
Spacious apartment with beautiful parquet floors and crown molding high ceilings. Decorated with antique quality furniture and a leather couch; there’s lots of room in the two main bedrooms and a cozy third one worked well for our family of four. Frank did an excellent job of communicating both before and during our stay and provided a ton of information, about the apartment and the local area. We were able to walk everywhere and Frank gave us an excellent, trustworthy contact to pick us up from the airport. Due to the simplicity of the kitchen area and the large, echoing spaces, not sure this would be a good fit for those with smaller children, the neighbors are quite concerned with noise levels. However, it wasn’t an issue for our older kids as we spent all day exploring and usually ate dinner out at a restaurant. Overall, a good value for staying in Budapest.

Great apartment, covered all our needs
We had a fantastic 3 day stay in Budapest. The accommodation was superb. Clean, comfortable and quiet. I would highly recommend this apartment for 6. Frank even allowed my sister to stay as well, by providing an extra bed. Thank you.

Klasse Wohnung in Bester Lage
DANKE

Super Wohnung in 1A Lage - Einfach Klasse
Gerne jederzeit wieder. Danke.

Beautiful and comfortable. Close to tram but we mostly walked. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. The shower was excellent
