Nice, clean place. Very good kitchen and cookware. Washer and dryer were great. The only negative for us were the two futon couches - not very substantial and very uncomfortable to sit on.

Convenient location near the Bath/Phippsburg border. Short walk down to Winnegance where they have canoes you can use. 10 minutes to Bath, 15 minutes to Popham. Apartment was well stocked - big bathroom with washer/dryer. Nice appliances for a rental unit. Bed might be soft for some.

Bath Retreat
The Kitchen great/room was a good size. And the bathroom was big too. Washer/dryer was a nice amenity. The bed was too soft for our taste and the dormers made getting in and out bed a little acrobatic. The property was very pretty.

Thank you Darryl and Jenny!!
We had a wonderful stay! The property was beautiful and very well cared for. It was the perfect peaceful retreat after a long day of moving our daughter and her family into their new Bath home. A glass of wine sitting on the dock on Winnegance Lake was the best.

Wonderful getaway at Popham Beach. Beautiful little apartment-clean and full of amenities. Oil for cooking, vinegar, variety of spices, wonderful choices of different coffees. The linen was nice and of high quality. Soft and comfortable bed. Would go back in a heartbeat! Loved our canoe expedition on the lake. Couldn't ask for more!

The setting for our stay in Bath was perfect. The cozy apartment was spacious and comfortable for the 2 of us and the neighborhood was very quiet. We didn't spend much time there because we were attending a family reunion, but it was obvious that all the amenities were provided if you need a little get-away.

Cozy and quiet
Home was very clean and comfortable. Area was nice and quiet. There was a streetlamp outside bedroom window, but it went off automatically around 11, so don't worry! Couldn't find a corkscrew in the kitchen though. Loved exploring Bath and neighboring areas - the Harpswell Cliff hike is a short loop, but beautiful. And they encourage building fairy homes off the trail using fallen branches/bark/moss, etc. Very fun to walk and discover the creative constructions!

Love this place would go back
Very clean and comfortable. If you go here a must is to go to the Maritime Museum, we spent two days there it was very interesting.

Leaf Peeper Paradise
Beautiful apartment in a beautiful area! The apartment was perfect for our little family adventure. We spent most of the weekend in exploring local parks and towns, coming back to the property only to realize the amazing views of the fall leaves and water “in our own back yard”.

Quiet, comfy plus extras!
We love booking places to stay through VRBO and have yet to be disappointed. Darryl & Jenny's place has everything we needed and more... Beautiful setting, easy to find, full kitchen, SUPER comfy bed plus extras we don't always see... Laundry supplies (detergent and fabric softener), shampoo/conditioner/body wash, cooking basics (oil, salt &pepper) plus fancy flavored coffee (💕💕). This was our first trip to Maine so we spent a ton of time visiting other areas recommended by friends and didn't get a chance to canoe or spend as much time at the property as we would have liked, but we did walk down to the waterfront and the cabin - the acreage is beautiful. We are sad we didn't get to meet our hosts in person, but they were always immediately accessible via phone when we had questions and super helpful with our last minute change in arrival date. Thank you for a great trip!

Charming, cozy and clean
Very pleased with our stay here. Darryl and Jenny were great with communication, excellent hosts. The apartment is clean and has everything you need, and the bed is very comfy! Great location if you want to be in Bath, near grocery stores and cute restaurants, plus close to Portland and Freeport. I'd recommend this place and would stay again.

Not Really Waterfront
This review is about a 50/50 mix. There was good, and there was not so good. 2 1/2 stars really.
First the good. The actual living space is wonderful! The space and separate rooms, make it a great little place to unwind, and refresh. The drawers and cupboards have everything you can think of, from pots and pans to dish soap and seasonings. The TV is a large new flat screen with an awesome cable package. We watched Goonies as a family, ate popcorn and had a blast! The yard has a tree swing and great little playground, which our kids adored! The land itself is very pretty with lots of barns and greenery. The owners kept to themselves, which was nice since it could feel awkward staying in someone's guest house. The guest house was clean, except for the occasional daddy long leg spider.
Now for the bad. We chose this particular spot for the sole purpose of being on the waterfront. The property claims to offer a waterfront setting and canoeing on the bay. The first thing we did when we arrived was check out the waterfront. We found ourselves surrounded by dog feces as far as the eye could see. Wearing flip flops, we were all covered in feces and were blown away by the sheer volume. It in our opinion made it impossible to enjoy the waterfront area, even in boots. We turned our attention to the canoes, which were left outside, with broken seats and were filled with spider nests. When we tipped them over, it was like a horror film as the countless spiders came rushing out at us. We are not city folk, we camp, love the outdoors and endure the elements with the best of them, but this was ridiculous. The life vests were broken, sun bleached and filled with spiders as well. We realized that we would have to completely scrub clean the canoes , and rid them of the spider nests as well as purchase new life vests for our kids in-order to make our canoeing dream a reality. We decided instead to not return to the water at all, and rent a canoe at another location. We could have addressed these issues with the owners, but staying right on the property made it feel uncomfortable.
This is not a "waterfront" property as advertised. No one would want to spend time in feces and spiders. These problems need to be fixed or the owners should change it to, "water-view" property, as it does have a very pretty treetop water view.
All in all we wouldn't come back, or recommend this spot. However, if the waterfront issues were addressed, it would be a home-run. Too bad.

Perfect indoor and outdoor space and wonderful hosts!
We loved the apartment and the property. So many acres on a beautiful Maine lake. Great for walks, meals outside, and evenings by the campfire. The apartment had all the necessary amenities and more! The hosts were very gracious. We loved the proximity to Rt. 1. A great place to stay. We would stay again!

Perfect spot for two
We enjoyed sleeping with windows open, walking down to the cabin by the water and listening to the birds. Sorry we didn’t have time to canoe.

Clean, quiet and close to popham beach
We arrived late and needed help getting in. We texted and we were contacted back literally within a minute. Great communication!! Everything was very nice, will stay here again! Thank you. The bonus was the great little bakery/breakfast place right down the road.

Wonderful little place. Clean, convenient, quiet and adorably decorated. Easy check-in.
We loved this place. It was right down the path from the lake and they even had a canoe you can use. It had a playground in the yard and picnic table. It had all of the things you would expect - clean bedding, towels, a coffee machine and full kitchen with pots and pans. Cute little place.

This was a great place for a getaway. The setting is perfect and guest house was a great fit for 4. It was a short drive to Booth bay to shops and restaurants. Next visit will be more days to enjoy.

Fabulous Mini Vacation for Couples
My boyfriend and I stayed for a long weekend at this sweet and cozy guest house. We showed up late Thursday night and walked in the door to find everything we could need for the first night. The next morning, Friday we went out to Shaw's which is about an 8 minute drive to get some groceries for our stay. We went back to the guest house and packed for the beach. We went to Popham beach which is 20 minutes and parked at Percy's. It was $10 to park for the whole day and a short walk to the beach. The beach was beautiful and not too busy. We came back to the guest house and made dinner. Darryl and Jenny came up to the guest house to introduce themselves and made sure we had everything. They are both very sweet and welcoming. I asked for a fan and they brought a fan right up to the guest house for me.
Saturday we went to the beach again and cooked dinner on the grill. I can say that if you are planning on cooking in instead of going out to dinner than I would recommend this guest house. I was really looking for somewhere I could cook my own meals. They had a few spices to use and all the cook wear you could need. We also took a drive down to the lake and sat on the dock for a while. It is very private and relaxing. Very romantic little place for a vacation with your other half. Sunday was rainy, so we went to the Freeport outlets (30 minutes) and shopped around Bath. Sadly, Monday came to quickly and we had to pack up to leave.
We truly loved our stay. It was convenient to everything that we needed and it was out of the city enough to have our privacy. We will be going back:)

Quiet, clean, and pristine surroundings
I stayed two nights in July at Darryl and Jenny's place with my husband. They were super in all communications. When we arrived, the place was immaculate. They encouraged us to use their canoe and take a stroll through their lovely acres. They also left us ice, cold water, and good coffee. The picnic table outside was perfect for having our morning Joe. All around, it was a good place for to stay.
