Spacious, quiet, and well-appointed room in back of large house. Beautiful huge backyard with jackfruit tree and the Wailuku River about 100 m at the end of the lot. Parking on the premises.
Breakfast on the lanai (porch) with other guests was excellent: fresh fruit, homemade pastries, yoghurt, and coffee served by gracious hosts (not the owners).
The "Boiling Pots" are about a 10 min walk from the B&B and the Rainbow Falls a short drive away. (We walked, but it was dangerous because of lack of sidewalks part of the way.)
There was no television, but we didn't miss it.

Beautiful quiet bed and breakfast with lovely grounds,. Large vintage room with tub. We enjoyed a lavish breakfast and friendly welcoming staff. It was nice the hosts allowed us to drop off our bags early.
Would appreciate coffee maker in the room. Staff were accommodating to make breakfast earlier than 8 am, and allow us to use the communal refrigerator, but having the amenities in the room is a plus.

Nice place, easy to reach the whole East Region of Big Island. Excellent breakfast different everyday.

It was a treat to wake up to a delicious breakfast, served artfully. The daily homemade breads/scones/muffins were to die for. The hosts were friendly and responsive without being intrusive. The fellow guests were lovely people to chat and be with. The setting was amazing and peaceful. The location was central while still feeling "off the beaten path."
Not really a "didn't like." I had the room just off the breakfast and gathering place porch. My bathroom was just a couple of feet from the door and it was awkward to use when I knew folks were on the porch a few feet away. I'm sure the other two rooms offered more privacy. But, this is a little thing compared to all the overwhelming positives and you just have to roll with older properties.

We really enjoyed having breakfast. The size of the room was great and it is a good location for a stay on Big Island on the Hilo side!

The gorgeous location, giving a beautiful Hawaiian experience, also the breakfast provided was absolutely fantastic
Nothing to dislike about the property

Breakfast was a nice touch. We really appreciated that our house prepared breakfast for us when we had to leave at 6am for a tour. Everything was well organized. A binder was available and had all info about the lodging, sites and local restaurants. The room was very clean.
The room was pretty humid and moist, but I’m not sure if that’s avoidable. The restroom was not sealed from the bedroom so you get the humidity from the shower and can smell some business….

The bathroom was immaculate and had plenty of extra towels. The shared space was lovely and very comfortable to relax on. I really enjoyed the fruit provided every morning for breakfast, and Lori was very accommodating with our early start the morning we left.
The mattress felt past it's prime, but nothing that would keep me from rebooking here.

Host was exceptional, including her breakfasts and service. Very nice grounds and good location for going to Mauna Kea, falls in and north of Hilo and Hilo bay and black sand beach to the south..
Room size was small, and we had the center unit which had little/no airflow. No water view.

Everything!
The location is good, close to rainbow fall, boiling pots and closer to Mauna Kea.
The host is really thoughtful, I love the experience a lot!
Nothing!

We enjoyed every moment in this bnb. Spacious room and huge yard to explore. Also Lori prepares a delicious breakfast with fresh fruits every morning.
4 nights is too fast. Lol

The rooms were exceptionally spacious and comfortable, with lots of gorgeous windows and a very nice bathroom. All rooms have a private entrance from outside!
Breakfast was also great and the portions were huge, with lots of local pastries and fruits! Definitely recommend.
Getting out of the parking lot can be tricky

Staying at the Old Hawaiian B&B was definitely the highlight of our Hawaii stay. The place is beautiful, authentic, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, equipped with everything you might need during your stay. We have stayed in great hotels all over the world, but the cleanliness of this place is outstanding, everything is absolutely spotless. The garden with the river and waterfall at the back with the wildlife is heaven on earth helping you to disconnect and recharge. Oh, and let’s not forget about how wonderful, diverse and delicious the breakfast was, freshly prepared every morning, including fruit bowls from fruits from the garden, muffins and banana bread also baked in the morning for the guests exclusively. The owners Lory and Stuart, and the lovely Kalā took great care of us. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience in Hawaii, make sure to book this place asap! We will definitely return! Great, quiet location. Lory was absolutely fantastic in accommodating us, and the lovely charm of the place and its gardens are great assets.
Room did not have a TV, otherwise, nothing else to complain bout.

Their backyard is simply amazing with waterfalls right by the end of it

Nicely decorated room. Opened onto a lovely shared porch.
The budget room is small but having the extra space on the porch was great. Beautiful garden and lovely property to wander about. Yummy breakfasts included in rate.

Amazing breakfast on the veranda, nice and attentive staff, comfortable and clean room, close location to some of Hilo’s waterfalls.
nope, all good

Beautiful location - the property is absolutely stunning, and the homemade breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious. The host was so welcoming and had tons of knowledge about the area and was very willing to chat and offer suggestions on where to go and what to see.
We had the smallest suite at the B&B - we stayed for two nights and it was great for that amount of time but a longer stay would have been a bit cramped. Good value for money though, so no complaints.

Very nice house in a very quiet neighborhood. The room was big and comfortable, super clean. In front of it there was a lovely lanai. We enjoyed it in the evening and we had breakfast there in the morning. Huge backyard that goes all the way to the river. Breakfast was super, varied and delicious! Thank you!

The home-made breakfast is delicious, the place is awesome and the owners are lovely !
I higly recommend !

I cannot say that there was anything that stood out. Perhaps the surrounding grounds.
Room very small for a couple. Shower/bath tight squeeze. Breakfast was tasty but vegan and I did not think that was explained in the B&B description on line. Location of the rooms were off the back porch where the breakfast was served.

We loved the tropical fruit breakfast and relaxed atmosphere.
