De beste plek om te verblijven in Hiriketiya

Beste locatie in Hiekeriya. Vanuit onze kamer zagen we de hele baai. Buiten zijn er leuke zitplekjes. Er was genoeg ruimte om eigen tuktuk te parkeren.

Amazing place right at the beach

This place is a totally golden find! Located right at the beach and you can even watch surfers straight from your bed! The family that runs it is so kind and sweet, you’re literally staying at their house and it’s the best way to experience the beauty of Hiriketiya

Only good location

Location is great. The lady is kind, she helped us carry the suitcase upstairs.

The price should be twice as low considering that there is nothing in the room except a bed. The ceiling is open, so any animal can come in from the outside, such as a huge spider that the host threw out because we were scared.

Nothing luxury but great for it’s price

They cleaned the room every day. There is shared fridge which was nice. Breakfast is not included but you can ask for it, just remember to ask it day before (it was Sri Lanka’s breakfast). Location is ok, it’s better to walk across the beach than a street. There is a bar just in front of the property which seems nice but they renovated it when we were there so it was not open :(

It’s nothing luxury but good for it’s price. If you want something luxury, don’t come there. There is no warm water, but you don’t need it when the shower is outside and there is hot outside. There was some little bugs on our room, not a bedbugs so they didn’t bothered us.

Wi-Fi не подходит для работы онлайн, невозможно было даже просто фильм посмотреть. Кухни нет. Сушить белье негде. Ощущения приватности тоже нет, так как хозяева живут с вами на первом этаже и постоянно движение какое-то.

Don’t go to Hiriketiya during High Season

+ good location in Hiriketiya -> important: if you like mass tourism in a small bay during high season Hiriketiya is the perfect place

unfortunately we cannot share the good reviews, but maybe we just had the wrong room (bad smell, not really clean) or got unlucky.

Absolut ok, toller Ausblick und Übernachtung mit Meeresrauschen!

Alles in allem absolut ok! Die Lage der Unterkunft ist super, etwas raus aus dem Trubel und mit einem tollen Blick auf die ganze Bucht! Für das, was man bekommt aber meines Erachtens etwas zu teuer. Ich habe oft günstiger und dafür besser übernachtet.

Der Weg zum Homestay vom Ort aus war abends leider total dunkel. Ohne Taschenlampe echt doof, da er auch so uneben ist.

I absolutely loved staying in this amazing accomodation…right in front of the surf spots..the waves were pretty good.. The room has the ocean view and very comfortable. The Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 breakfast style was simple divine 😋🫓 Super happy and grateful!! Thank you 😊

The host family is super nice! We were exceptionally warmly welcomed! The hostess helped us with everything. The location is exceptionally beautiful with sea views and a hammock. Only half a minute walk to the beach. The beach ist a really nice and with less tourists! We stayed longer then planned, because it s was so nice. And want to come back! And also they offered a quick laundry service.

basic accommodation for a fair price

the house was directly in front of the Point break where you can surf an amazing left handed wave. the house was cute and they cleaned the rooms everyday. it was really basic, but for this price totally ok.

we booked two rooms, one room was just ~2€ more expensive per night, but it was more than double size with extra bed and an amazing view. the other room was really small, we had problems to arrange our staff and surfbags etc.

Great location, sea view and super close to the beach. The room is okay and clean.

Be aware and double check the exchange rate if you are paying in LRK, service fee (cleaning of the room) is not included and breakfast is not included. On Fridays there is a party with super loud music just in front of the house, it is not the fault of hosts but good to know if you stay there.

Very relaxing and comfortable, friendly place

The location is amazing, best in hiri. Right on the surf point and very peaceful (except on Fridays when the bar next does get a little noisy but not too late). Family are lovely people and do everything to make your stay perfect. Very clean place too

Would be nice to have an extra early breakfast option before surfing.

Something about Surf Home Stay...

A friendly, relaxed and affordable family home stay, with two cool surfer kids. From the spacious grassy garden, watch them riding high on the lip, dropping deep, cutting back and ending with frequent 360's. 🤟🏻 Rooms are no nonsense but provide all necessary comfort. Rooms facing the jungle are quieter than the ones facing the bay, since the sea roars loudly and the occasional Zingbar's parties are even louder. At easy walking distance - via mostly unpaved roads - from Hiriketiya village. The various beach bars dotted along the beach (Mage Bar!) and Dot's, are a 10 minutes beach stroll away. Your feet might get wet at high tide and it can be very dark, but the starry sky and the fireflies will light up the short walk. Zing Bar next door is a newcomer in Hiri that is still looking for its identity. If their powerful sound system still blurts out the ubiquitous generic 'progressive' at inappropriate moments, just talk to the staff (or better, manager Shevone). Enjoy!

The occasional party at Zingbar - located at the premises, facing The Point - may be not to the liking of those seeking tranquility and calm in the homestay - but a simple chat with the bar's friendly staff may do wonders (not on weekends, though). If you're walking the dirt road to and from the homestay - especially at night - some playful dogs might come to check you out. Just raise your voice and tell them to STOP. You're sharing a house with an extended family. If the smell of rice and curry at 7 in the morning puts you off, there may be better options.

Position is great: direct access to the beach where there are several bars and small restaurants and also surf schools.

No A/C, hosts don't really speak English easily, a lot of humidity in the room.

good for 1 night

the location was good, big room and comfortable bed but that’s all we could say about our stay.

we didn’t feel very welcome and didn’t get any explanation by arrival. the room only had a bamboo curtain (partly) and the stairs were in front of our window. we get it was the budget room but some curtains would have been nice. we were glad we only booked one night.

I booked the corner room upstairs and it was well worth it. very spacious with fantastic view over the bay and garden. wonderful sea breeze and sound of the waves crashing, you'll sleep like a baby.
