A great stay as always. This was my family’s 5th year at Eagle Lodge. We continue to book because of the space we have to spread out, the stocked kitchen and cleanliness of the home! Definitely recommend.

We were very pleased with everything. The house and grounds are excellent! The only complaint we had was the fact that our time was up and we had to return to reality! Highly recommended and we hope to come again very soon!

The house is stunning as you walk through the front door! The yard and exterior of the house is well maintained.
PROS:
-Well stocked kitchen
-plenty for all ages to do (8-74)
-very spacious
-large dock for our boat, kayaks, canoe, although a little tricky getting in and out of kayaks/canoe
-great seating in living room and seating for meal time
-good bluegill/brim fishing off the dock
-screened in area on deck was great
-plenty of parking space
CON:
-2nd kitchen in the basement but no fridge, we could have used a 2nd fridge
-no hot water in the basement bathroom
-internet didn’t work but we could still watch tv
-one sink in master bath didn't drain
-no hand towel ring/bar in half bath on main floor
-small bedroom on main floor didn’t have a side table for a phone, etc.
-outdoor furniture on basement level was dirty, as were the outdoor eating tables on the deck
-could have used more dish towels
-surprised how grassy the lake water was
-both rings around the garbage disposal pop off when you turn it off and on
-the house could use more than 3 showers for as many as it sleeps
-ladders to get in and out the lake from the dock are far from the end you jump into and one is broken
-tricky figuring out which light switches work which lights
-we had to go to more than one boat ramp to launch because our boat was too tall to go under several of the bridges to get back to the house. We have a master craft ski boat with a wake board rack.

Awesome lake house with everything you need. Great location on Guntersville lake. Something for everyone. Thanks

Excellent property. Tons of space and quality home. Only downside is Lake Guntersville has a lot of sea grass which slightly diminishes swimming around the dock and boating. Otherwise a perfect getaway.

We loved the home as always. The owners are quick to respond and flexible. It is perfect for our family. Everyone has their own space to spread out. We love to sit on the front porch in the morning and the screened in back deck in the evening. The kitchen is stocked really well and the tow ovens are great when cooking for a large family. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for quiet, room to spread out and a well stocked kitchen.

We had a great vacation. Everything was just as described

Easy rental. Huge home with room to roam. Excellent beds and an exceptional view. Flat yard to the lake. Clear water with some lake bottom vegetation. Good fishing.
Upstairs bathtub is not hooked up so can't use it.
A couple of areas of concern. Some stones are not mortared securly at the fire pit and at the front entry. The stair railing in the kitchen has 2 gaps that could be dangerous for toddlers. We kept something in front of it to block the area. The upstairs bedroom on the left had a hole where the door knob went through the sheetrock. Outside water spickets were turned off downstairs so we couldn't hose it off before we left. The raised dishwasher was amazing.
Overall superb home!!

A group of 22 men on a Church men's fishing retreat and it could not have been any better. The only issue was trying to get all our boats parked but we made it work. Words can not describe this amazing house. When you can stand and the middle of a house with 22 people inside and have no idea where they are.... that's big. Amazing is not the word. We will be coming back every year!!

The house was great, it was very spacious and homey! We had 20 people staying and it never felt over crowded, and the outdoor space was clean and beautiful!

This home is so beautiful. We love celebrating our family Christmas here. The home is well furnished and accommodates large gatherings well. Our grandchildren love the game room and outdoor space.. We have stayed several times and feel at home here.

We celebrated my mother’s 90th birthday with family coming in from as far away as Boston, MA. Our experience could not have been better. Penny was extremely helpful and answered any questions we had. The house is gorgeous and had everything we needed! We hope to be able to come back again!

The house was very spacious and had everything we needed. One of the bathrooms upstairs had a bathtub that was not hooked up to water. Also the kitchen sink downstairs has no running water. Other than that our stay was amazing! The big wood table in the kitchen seats at least 10-12 people and was great for our game nights!! Everyone enjoyed the beautiful lake and fire pit seating.

This was a wonderful location for our family to gather for Thanksgiving. We were a group of adults and older teens and had plenty of room. The host was very easy to communicate with, and the house was stocked well for our needs. The house is 20 minutes from the closest grocery store, so plan accordingly unless you want to be driving back and forth. Also, there are three showers (one on each floor), which was plenty, but no one should come expecting that they will have a shower or bathroom exclusively to themselves. The fire pit by the lake is great for congregating outdoors, and though we didn't participate in any water activities, the lakeside location not only provided a great backdrop, but is home to many birds, including bald eagles. Our family would easily return to this property for a future gathering.

3rd year in a row
We love this house! It was my family’s 3rd time staying at this house. We have stayed at a lot of vacation homes, this is our favorite. We cook a lot, I mean a lot. This is the most well stocked kitchen! We love having all of the separate spaces to spread out. The lake is quiet. We love the poker room. We have started having an annual poker tournament. Herb and Penny are very responsive and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Amazing Family Vacay
Property was exactly as pictures show only better!! The main living/family room is huge and beautiful with 4 very comfy chairs. Kitchen had griddles, etc. Fire pit was a huge hit as was the game room on the main floor. Had 21 people, 4 generations - ages 11 months to 73. Group texts are continuing with additional pictures, activities during our vacation, etc. State park is less than 30 minutes away with a beach. 12 of our group spent a day there. You will not retreat booking this home!!

Celebrating the end of school and the beginning of summer
We had a great time on this property. We had a total of 25 which included 2 infants, 10 other children of various ages, and my mother who is 88. One of our favorite things was the screened in back porch where we could sit with infants and watch everyone have a grand time. The fishing was incredible. So much fun for kids and the men. The whole family agrees that they would like to go back.

The best weekend!
Our group of 6 couples from 4 states reunited for a long weekend. This property was even better than expected. The lake view is beautiful and it was nice to have the covered dock from which to watch rain and snow. The kitchen is perfectly stocked for preparing all meals. We played pool, cards, Frogger, and watched football by a roaring fire. There are many spaces to be together, but also plenty of room to get away if you need a little quiet time. The location is in the middle of nowhere, which is what we wanted, but the drive to Scottsboro is picturesque. The only complaint was from the couples who stayed downstairs. They did not find the bedroom configuration to be ideal and were cold at night (this was January.) However, if you have children, they will love it down there. Despite that, we would all stay here again.

Family Christmas
We love this home!!! The home is large enough to accommodate our large family. The kitchen is well appointed with all that is needed. We love the pantry shelving added in the kitchen. Look forward to returning next year. The hosts are easy to communicate with and are very accommodating.

Beautiful Home on Lake Guntersville
We stayed at the Eagle Lodge for our bi-annual Thanksgiving trip. We had 4 generations of family this year ranging in age from 86 to 2 years old. This house has something for everyone and is stunning with all of the reclaimed wood and view of the lake from so many windows! Our elder family members enjoyed the master bed/bath on the main level and loved that the game rooms were on the main level as well. This allowed them to join in on the card games and pool table fun without having to navigate stairs. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with utensils, dishes and cookware to make a full Thanksgiving meal. The extra kitchen downstairs allowed us to cook multiple things at one time. The huge oak table fit our entire large party! There are bedrooms and bathrooms galore allowing each family plenty of personal space. Our older kids loved the big upstairs bedroom with 4 beds and a large TV. The back yard is perfect for a volleyball game, time around the fire pit and fishing from the dock. The weather was quite cold so most of our time was spent indoors but we were never bored! The house is off the beaten path but there is a town within 20 minutes for necessities. Eagle Lodge (we saw several bald eagles!) is definitely a place to get away and relax. We will consider visiting again!

Great Lake House.
The property was huge! Great for our group of 6 couples. The supply of kitchen utensils was the best I have seen of any rentals. The dock and lake view were beautiful. The only complaint I would have is for the amount of space it could use a couple more showers. But that didn’t stop us from having a great time.

Ladies Retreat
It was a great property with great amenities. The kitchen was well stocked with small appliances, cooking utensils, silverware, plates, glasses, and cups. I gave this property 4 stars only because none of the bedrooms had a mirror in them, for 16 ladies this created a problem. Everything else about the house was great.

Family vacation
Our family ranging in age from 85 to 15 had a great time at this wonderful property. The house is plenty big and everyone enjoyed the game room with pool table and arcade. The screened in porch was perfect for great conversations. The closest boat rental is at lake Guntersville State Park, which is about 50 min by boat to get back to this house, but we had a great boat day. Would book again.

Second stay at Eagle Lodge
Perfect for our annual family gathering. Herb and Penny are quick to respond! They are very accommodating. Eagle Lodge has the best stocked kitchen out of the many rental properties we have stayed in! We spent much of our time at the huge kitchen table and on the front porch. The pool table, arcade, and dock provide a variety of activities for everyone.

Eagle Lodge Vacation
We had 3 generations, ages 1 1/2 to 74 - - 20 family members in total. To a person (except for the baby, and she looked as though she had a wonderful time) everyone voted to come back again next summer! There was more than enough space for everyone. The whole place is beautifully decorated, amenities galore, and the most well-equipped kitchen of anywhere we have stayed. We all had a wonderful time. I would rate it higher than 5 stars if I could!

The Eagle’s Nest was perfect for our large family. .The home was large with plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed boating, tubing, and paddle boarding. The only downside was the large amount of milfoil in the water somewhat limited our swimming. On rainy days, we loved having the pool table and game room and the screened in porch where we could sit and visit while enjoying the beautiful view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
