About this cottage rental
Entering the garden gate, you'll walk under an arbor and pass the chicken coop, the organic garden and enter your own private retreat. We have made every effort to make this retreat as green as possible. Just inside the gate you have a lovely patio shaded by native Live Oaks, another garden area planted with Texas Natives, and a large covered porch with an outdoor dining spot, and a wide bench with cushions. Inside the Casita, which is small and efficient, you have a queen sized bed, a love seat, a kitchen with granite counter tops and equipped with all the basics, an expandable dining table, a closet and a bath with walk in shower. There are handmade tiles installed in the kitchen and the bath. The dinnerware colorful Fiesta ware. We harvest rainwater and use it on the vegetable gardens, and use some for the landscaping. When available, we can supply you with some fresh eggs from the chickens ! We also stock the fridge with organic free trade Coffee and Half & Half to get you started on your day. The hot water heater is tankless on demand, the AC/heater is an energy efficient 18 Seer Mini-Split, and there is a ceiling fan to reduce the need for AC. The floors are hardwood and tile with an area rug in the living area. We use sustainable paper products, bath products and soaps. The furniture and cabinetry was locally sourced and/or reclaimed.
We have 2 fish ponds with Koi and goldfish for you to enjoy.
There is a lap pool on the property, just behind the main house filled with rainwater. You are welcome to use the pool while enjoying the cool water, the flowers and watching the wind generators spin. This is a very relaxing place.
Small dogs under 30 pounds are allowed. 2 dogs max. There is a pet fee of $15. per day per dog. (Pets are not allowed in the pool)

The little cabin was quaint and perfectly equipped for one to two people to stay comfortably. The host was very kind and showed us around her property filled with her stunning artwork, sculpture and tile work. The pool was amazing. I would definitely recommend this as a nice place to stay. Close to town too!

The Casita is a special place. From the drive up to the artist inspired surroundings it could not be more idyllic or romantic. The owner lives on site but could not be more accommodating. Her incredible works of art can be seen throughout the property The pool s beautiful and inspiring Great location with great dining option nearby. It was the perfect getaway and we hated to leave

We stayed here to celebrate our 25th anniversary and we could not have asked for a nicer experience. The neighborhood feels like it's out in the middle of the country. So quiet and surrounded by trees. The Casita is cozy and has a lovely porch to enjoy the outdoors and watch the birds. We also spent the mornings and evenings swimming in the pool. We are already looking forward to staying at the Casita again!
Thank you,Claudia, for making our anniversary so special!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay with our two pups for my husband’s birthday over July 4th. The location is perfect, the casita is cozy and comfortable and the pool was just what we needed to help cool off from the Texas heat. We will definitely consider staying in Claudia’s casita again when we visit Austin again. Just a note for those traveling with pups, make sure to bring a brush during the summer months as cockleburs are prevalent. I should have been more prepared, so that was my fault.

We stayed at the Casita and it was exactly what we needed. The surrounding area was peaceful and the sounds at night and morning a delight. Claudia was an amazing host. We even enjoyed her eggs and coffee she provided. The property was clean and stocked with natural products.
There is a pool as well and it was relaxing and clean. This location was close to all our destinations we were headed. We cannot wait to come back and return to the Casita.

We had a lovely time at this cute little cottage. The patio was our favorite place to relax and it was perfect for our dog since it was fenced in. We only left once to eat at a super good restaurant recommended by our hostess who came to meet us with her adorable pup. This is a great place to get away from the city and chill!

We enjoyed staying at this property.
Claudia is very talented, her pottery was showcased in the cabinets, and on the wall.
Unfortunately she was working on a big order and we didn’t get to tour her studio.
The place is cute and eclectic. The chickens were friendly and greeted you. Claudia provided farm fresh eggs the first day. Everything was nice except for the towels, smelled a bit like mildew. Other than that, nice stay.

Such a charming cozy casita to tuck into at night and to linger in over coffee in the morning! We attended young grandchildren’s activities and other busy family gatherings in Austin (away from the casita) during the days of our 4-night stay at the casita and looked forward each evening to returning to the quiet that awaited us there! Highly recommend!

We loved everything about our stay at the Casita. If there was one complaint it would be that we loved it too much. It was so relaxing it made it hard for us to leave for exploring. We slept late every morning and enjoyed coffee and brunch on the porch. We would head out for lunch and some walking but enjoyed our own private happy hour every evening on the porch. Claudia was a wonderful host. The Casita was stocked with everything we needed. Every morning we picked greens for a salad from the garden and the kitchen was stocked for a quick vinaigrette. We brought some bacon and cheese, Claudia provided us with eggs. It's safe to say that breakfast salad is officially our new thing. The bed was comfortable, the setting was peaceful, the decor was just funky enough. We felt right at home and we will definitely come back for a visit!

My husband and I absolutely loved this serene casita out in the rolling hills beyond Austin.
It was super clean and welcoming, with Claudia being a terrific host. Her artistic touches were such a delight both inside and outside the property. We needed a peaceful retreat and we got it! Definitely would choose this casita again in a heartbeat when in Austin.

Uniquely set up in a way that allows you to relax. We will be back!
I would’ve given my review all 5s if only the online instructions were updated to match what our hostess shared via email. It was a minor inconvenience that was quickly resolved when we enjoyed the gracious eggs, coffee beans, and milk with our cookies we baked fresh in the oven.
How wonderful it was!

It was a very pleasant stay, Claudia is an awesome human being and an excellent host, if you’re looking for an Austinean experience this is the place you want to pick for your visit, we’re definitely coming back!
Well thats what my wifey thinks. Personally, I prefer a crappy sterile hotel to a totally laid back chill Casita. I caught the personal handmade art statues placed randomly amongst the trees looking at me side eyes as we drove up the gravel road. Haha. Fridge and place had all the necessary provisions to start your trip. Bed was awesome. We just loved it!

Casita was as pictured. Loved that we had a private yard with porch & sitting area outside. Very clean, and felt at home. Bed was comfortable. Claudia was in touch before we got there and made sure we knew how to arrive at the property. We appreciated the food items given to us! Not far from downtown & south congress area (15/20minutes). 10/10 stay.

A perfectly cute lil place to stay, awesome covered porch to hang out on even if it’s raining or to get outta the heat. We enjoyed lounging by the pool, and cooking dinners in casita’s kitchen. There were other people their using the property and doing maintenance but if we did see or run into them all were friendly and respectful. Would for sure stay there again if we visit Austin!!!
Thank you again Claudia
