The place is rundown, built in the 70's or 80's and hasn't been touched since.
Lots of little broken things, place is filthy and the entire property needs to be scrubbed clean for a couple days.
Everything is OLD. Thought I was going to fall through the shower tub floor it's so rickety. Feels like going back in time 40 years, and about the same feeling for how long it's been since it was cleaned.
If you want a place to stay with a group of friends to enjoy the resort, it's a fine place. Definitely not somewhere to stay for any length of time and be enjoyable.
Oh yea, blinds would be nice. The downstairs bathroom has a full length window right to the road, from the toilet! The place is basically all windows, good luck sleeping in with daytime light and no blinds.
Dishes were dirty, there was gross years old hair clogging the tub drain, the list goes on.

hot tub soothing. no black out curtains. street level bathroom did not have privacy curtains, i fixed with a towel wedged in screen.

Lots of room for the adult family.
Quite and peaceful

Had a VRBO in Homer Ak for fishing there. Came back closer to Anchorage . To go fishing and glacier sight seeing .

The house itself was great and clean. The outside weeds and grass around the house was bad and really needed to be cut back.

My parents and I had a lovely stay at this property. It is fully equipped with everything you may need and we enjoyed unwinding in the hot tub. Customer service is prompt, check-in was easy, and the place was extremely tidy.

This is an older cabin and has its quirks, however it is spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well supplied.
It's an easy walk to Girdwood Brewing or the Alyeska resort.
Would definitely stay again.

Outstanding ski chalet surrounded by beautiful mountains, trees and a stream.

Very nice house. Incredible views and beauty. Great, easy walk to ski resort and brewery.

Great Location. Great Price. Needs some updates. Be careful of the stair rail, it could give you splinters

We stayed here over the Christmas holiday 2023. It’s an older home with a lot of quirks, but par for the course for a ski trip! Overall, we loved the home and it’s a great location five minutes walking distance to the slopes. Some days we would even ski almost entirely back to the condo with ”skating” on a flat part, which is pretty cool! The hot tub was great for kids kids and for after skiing!
If I were the owner of this condo, I would want to know what was lacking and change it as soon as possible. These are the issues we ran into..
- The lock box needs to be replaced. My husband is a surgeon and could hardly figure out how to open the thing , especially with snow/ ice/ cold it seems to freeze easily. Not great for those late night check ins during negative degree weather!.
- we were only given one dishwasher tablet for the whole stay. We contacted Vacasa and they dropped mar off, but it takes a couple of days because of their corporate system.
- We were only given to trash bags for the entire eight days day with two kids
- We were only given 2.5 rolls of toilet paper for an eight day stay with two kids and three adults. Again because of remedied this but it takes a couple of days.
- kitchen is not well stocked- they need more cups, Mugs, and bowls. They also need cookie sheets a very nice house cleaner dropped us off some cookies for us to make with the kids when she dropped other things off, however, there were no cookie sheets to make the cookies. I contacted Vacasa about this and they told us we had to buy our own. …
- The heating system was a little confusing to figure out. They should have directions for this in the home.
- there are about six remote controls in the house for the TVs, but no instructions on how to use them . The Home needs to have instructions on this .
Other positives- there was plenty of laundry detergent, and having laundry in the home was very convenient with the five of us.
Overall, I would stay at this home again, but I would contact Vacasa first to make sure the home was appropriately stocked for eight nights with five people :)

This place was very clean. A little outdated but clean and spacious.

When we arrived we found everything as described. Instructions and directions were text to us early. Then they asked if everything was satisfactory once we checked in.
I text the staff and they responded immediately. We ran out of propane and asked if there was any on the property. There was not, but they were on top of it and had it here asap.
The hottub was amazing and the heaters all worked. The kids and adults loved the foosball table. We loved all the windows and the beautiful view. Make sure to take the short hike up to the waterfall. You won’t be disappointed.
I was trying to think of a downfall, but our only complaint was the grill was not cleaned before us and was moldy. (It’s clean now. We made sure)
The downstairs bathroom could use a curtain. Not a complaint, just an observation.
Thank you for fun wonderful memories.

The house is great. Classic mid level Alaska home. Everything worked as intended. We would recommend it to anyone with a family up for the local adventures.

There were only a few windows with curtains in the house. The ones in the house were worthless. It is summer months with lots of light. Many windows in the home. Needs more and better curtains. Many spiders downstairs. The loft is super noisy. If others are staying with you, you cannot sleep up there with anyone downstairs. Very open.

We liked the chalet and so did our 2 dogs! Convenient location and nice airy space. And the hot tub worked!

The chalet and the location are excellent. Its large and has a good feel to it. Its also nice and warm. Its an older Chalet and there were some small things that need fixing, but given the price you can't really complain. Its more annoying as it would probably only cost $100 to make the place perfect...
The things that need fixing:
- No plug for a number of the sinks including the kitchen sink
- No tap on upstairs bath (it has been removed).
- Only three plastic wine glasses provided (one badly warped). We bought some glass wine glasses for $5!
- Hot tub broke and communications were not great about getting it fixed. They did refund us for this.
- One of the lamps was broken

Great place for a family to stay on a Girdwood get away. Two bathrooms, three bedrooms, hooks for cold weather gear, mid floor for cooking and gathering, hot tub for relaxing. Absolutely perfect!
4.4
I love this property! Unique and tucked away. Cozy with plenty of blankets and occasional views of the mountain. Kind of oddly laid out with no bathroom on the living level lol. The hot tub lid is in pretty bad shape and could really use one of those lifting racks to ease operation. Our only complaint is that no wood is provided for the woodstove. I crackling fire definitely would have been even more cozy!
4.4
Unfortunately the hot tub stopped heating and was more a like warm tub. Especially when we turned on the jets. Pretty cool house but pretty old with some weird quirks.
4.4
Is a very nice house. The beds are extremely noisy tho. And if there’s going to be a grill it would be nice to have a tank on it. If they don’t want people using the the grill, put it away. One bedroom was extremely bright in the early morning. Could use better light blocking blinds.

Our family had a great time in Girdwood, your home was so comfortable. Loved the location, hot tub, and the layout of the house.
4.4
At the breakfast nook and many other windows, you can see the mountains. The hot tub was ready to go and we had all we needed. Things were nice and clean. Plus, the collection of movies there was highly entertaining.
4.4
The house was clean, and interior/exterior pictures are accurate. While a bit outdated, the house worked well for us. The kids loved the games. Open kitchen/living room was nice. Gave 4 of 5 stars because a few simple things could have enhanced our stay. The beds were pretty old and uncomfortable. Home has tons of windows without curtains which made the house very hot, and made it hard to sleep at night (summer sun doesn’t set until almost 11pm). Great proximity to the town/resort/and some good hiking trails. We overall enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

This home was built in 1981 and has had very few updates since 1981! The hot tub was the only bright spot at this property. Beds weren't very good, no black out curtains, and the blind in the main bathroom was only on one side of the window. Other than location, I can't really recommend this property for any reason.
4.4
The home had great amenities. Hot tub was relaxing and location perfect.
4.4
We had a fantastic time and every amenity we could possibly need!
4.4
Everything was wonderful except upstairs room has no way of blocking the long summer light so make sure you have a sleeping mask for your eyes

Great location and lots of space. Furniture was a little used and 2 of 3 beds were not comfortable. Commication was not good until after check-in.
