About this house rental
"Sound & SeaDogs Flat" is a great vacation getaway just steps from the beach on one side and the sound on the other! This single story 2 bedroom/1 bath bungalow is pet friendly and has all of the amenities including kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove and dishwasher, open concept dining and living area and a laundry closet with over/under washer dryer. Two bedrooms (Bedroom 1 King bed, Bedroom 2 two Twins) complete the 800 sqft beach getaway.
The 16ft adjoining patio with outdoor dining seating and gas grill provides for relaxing evenings after a day in the sun. Access to an outdoor shower is available. A private paved driveway entrance has room for 3 cars or a combination of car, boat & trailer (
Reservations are for a minimum 3 night stay. Check-in at 4pm, check-out at 10am. This is a Non-Smoking property. Response guaranteed within hours.
Dogs (2 dog max/50 lbs. or less) are allowed with pre-approval and a non-refundable pet deposit. Don't hesitate to inquire about having a larger dog. The pet deposit is $120 per stay.
Crisp linens are included as part of the Cleaning Fee with all beds made upon your arrival. Bath towels, hand towels, washcloths and kitchen towels are set out for you as well. Beach towels are not included and bath towels are not to be removed from the bungalow.
Personal concierge service at check-in and check-out is part of your reservation experience. This service provides you with a single point of contact for questions, maintenance or after-hours emergencies.
There is a deposit of $500 applied only upon inspection for damages at check-out. This is not required upfront. Also any unregistered dogs will result in the $120 pet fee being applied against this deposit.

Local eateries minutes from the bungalow include the Crab Shack and the Anchor Drafthouse for pizza which too offers a local bar experience with water front seating. A fabulous food truck option is Captain’s Kitchen with fantastic seafood options as well as burgers and hotdogs. Don’t be swayed by lines of patrons, it is worth the wait!

The beach can be bustling but not in this little slice of tranquility on the isle! The listing is just as pictured but immaculate. More than enough to cook, a great grill, small deck area and laundry. Bed was comfortable, plenty of towels and good shower along with an outside shower and hose. We really had all we needed! You are close to the road but when inside you really don't hear it. We sat out in the evening and it was still peaceful. Just a short stroll to the beach. Property manager is on top of everything and very quick response to any questions. We have already booked for next year! Best of all the furry friends are welcome too.

The property was very clean & comfortable! The kitchen was well-stocked and we had everything we needed. The walk to the beach is listed as 1 minute, and it honestly is...super easy to get to and because you are on the more narrow side of Emerald Isle, the beach is not crowded at all, but still folks around if you like to socialize. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you to Brian for ensuring we had what we needed! He was very kind and accomodating.

We've stayed at this property twice and have enjoyed it. It's worked well for our small family of three and nice to be able to bring the pup along. It's not a fancy place with bells and whistles but comfortable, economic, and location is great.

We enjoyed our stay at the bungalow in mid-June. The weather was perfect, so we took advantage of the close beach access every single day. The property is in Emerald Isle but very near Indian Beach, which worked well since we went into Morehead City for the Big Rock Tournament and some other activities.
The property itself was a great size and layout for our family for the week. I was glad I thought to pack a drying rack so we had more space to dry our towels and swimsuits. The beds were comfortable, the space was clean, and we all loved getting to use the outdoor house at the "big house."
We had a wonderful stay and would truly love to return in the future.

This was the cutest bungalow and was perfect for us. We had everything we needed-kitchen was very well stocked and we enjoyed cooking meals so we did not have to go out. The walk to the beach was a short walk down the shaded path, right to the beach access! We will definitely be back!!

We had a great stay, we got to visit our favorite people, our grandson from a great site near the beach. the Cottage was easy to find and a very short walk to a beautiful beach. Second stay and there will be more, I'm sure.

The bungalow was so cute and had everything we needed! Brian was a super friendly guy and helped us with any questions we had. The location to the beach was perfect. I didn't get to spend much time on the patio but even that was well equipped. Perfect spot for a smaller family. We'll be back!

Just what the doctor ordered! The accommodations were quite comfortable. The weather was beyond perfect for early November and we loved the uncrowded beach! The only negative of our trip was that so many of the restaurants that we wanted to try were already closed for the season! It’s sad that full time residents can’t go to the Crab Shack during the winter months! Even the dogs settled in and they loved their walks! Thank you for a sweet place to rest and renew.

Great location. The beach is beautiful. It was so perfect that I proposed to my girlfriend on the beach and she said yes. We’ll definitely be back. Brian was a wonderful host.

Loved how clean our bungalow was. We wanted to be close to Salter Path, so location was excellent. Kitchen was well stocked. Beach access was great! Owners left a nice bottle of welcoming wine. I will definitely request again! Highly recommend!

The main things we didn’t like were the shower head and handle—the handle was very hard to control (the water also got extremely hot even when it wasn’t very far toward the hot side) and the shower head was old so not functioning the best. The outdoor shower was actually better than the indoor one. The other thing was that they only supply one roll of toilet paper—I understand not wanting to have a lot available, but I think one extra roll would be a helpful addition.

The property was perfect for our family. It is very close to the beach and the sound- which allows beach days to be less stressful and more relaxing! Early morning fishing was also super convenient due to location. It is very clean and we slept comfortably on the beds. The owners are available and easy to contact. Brian is knowledgeable about things to do in the area which proved to be helpful! We hope to stay again next season! If you need a quiet relaxing getaway this is the place!!

Our stay was great. The house was clean with an open floor plan, close to the beach, on a bike path, and great for little kids. We enjoyed several local restaurants and the North Carolina aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores. We would definitely recommend the house.

Loved that this rental was dog friendly. It’s often hard to find a vacation rental in a great location that also allows larger dogs. Our girl loves the beach so we could never leave her at home. The rental was very clean and the property manager and owners are very hospitable and great communicators. We hope to visit again next year!

Nice clean property with very easy ocean access. Centrally located on the island for quick trips to the pointe or the fort. Property manager was very accommodating and helpful. Would recommend and will look at a return trip in the future.

My husband and I and our little dog stayed a few nights this spring. The house is literally a 1 minute walk to the beach, and the sound is right across the street. It's the perfect size for a couple or a small family, very clean and inviting and well kept. The owners even left us a bottle of wine to enjoy in our first night. The house also has a nice little deck area with a gas grill and a table with umbrella where you can sit out and enjoy a meal, and a couple of grassy areas where our dog could use the bathroom, and a place to hose off her sandy paws. The area is just a few minutes drive from several restaurants, a Publix, and a couple of Food lions, plus some nice little parks where we launched outlet kayaks. It was quiet but still convenient to just about everything. Check in and check out were very easy- Brian the property manager met us to give us the key and gave us a lot of great recommendations for places to eat and things to do. We were very happy with our stay and would gladly stay at this cute little house again.

The bungalow was truly just a 1 minute walk to the beach! The place was very clean and conveniently located to restaurants/shopping. Loved having the walking path right in front of the house. Brian (concierge) is extremely knowledge of the area and has some great suggestions on where to eat. He checked in to be sure everything was going well during our trip and then thanked us at departure. Other than the bathroom being a bit small the rest of the house felt pretty spacious. Thank you for allowing us to spend our spring break in your bungalow! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

This was our 2nd stay, but first time during the off-season. We VRBO a lot & this is hands-down THE CLEANEST and THE BEST vacation rental experience we’ve consistently had. We always travel with our 2 small well-behaved dogs and finding a CLEAN, decent pet-friendly rental can sometimes be a challenge. We had hoped to return in August, but the cottage was already booked for our dates (it’s a popular destination and books quickly). The rental hosts & Brian are gracious and quick to address any questions/concerns. The upgraded bathroom door (from pocket door to barn door) was absolutely PERFECT! The kitchen counter was also recently upgraded. We definitely don’t want to stay anywhere else when visiting EI - it’s our home away from home. Thank you so much for kindly sharing your property with us vacationers & for engaging Brian - he’s a true gem!

This location is the best for 1 minute walk to the beach. Small space, but roomy enough for 4 guys on a fishing weekend to have plenty of room.
Brian , our host , was so great! He even offered places to park for access to the sound side near a public access.
