About this house rental

Don’t worry about hurricane season. We automatically reimburse any nights in which the island is under mandatory evacuation. Beginning in September thru February is our Off Season. We will allow a 2 night minimum for the Off Season for Friday and Saturday nights only. Stay will begin at 4:oo pm on Friday and end at 5:oo pm on sunday. All other nights have a 3 night minimum. The camp has an open floor plan with exposed rafters framing high vaulted ceilings over an area with spacious kitchen and island, a dining area which seats 10+, a huge sectional sofa with flat screen Roku TV, a game area with table and chairs, two comfy twin sofa beds (sleeps 2)to read, nap, and cuddle and 6 large wooden rockers facing the beach all within sound of the surf and 180 degree views . To feel the breeze and smell the salty air you can step down three steps to a very large wooden deck overlooking the sea with hammock, a swing, 4 more rockers, four large custom built loungers and a teak high top table with four high chairs. The master bedroom has a king size bed, en suite bath with a tub/shower,(sleeps 2) and a flat screen TV. Another bedroom has a queen bed with extra long twin bunk and a baby bed.(sleeps 4 plus baby) The 3 rd bedroom has a queen size bed with a twin bed and an extra long twin bunk (sleeps 5) The shared hall bathroom has a toilet and tub/shower . Another half bath and the laundry room with full sized washer and dryer also open to the hall. Wi fi is included as well as Roku TV with Netflix and Prime. All linens are stocked including bath towels, wash towels, beach towels, kitchen towels, and bed linens. The kitchen is fully stocked with a 5 burner gas stove, full size oven, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, air fryer, blender, drip electric coffeemaker, and double sink. Everything you need to cook your fish or boil seafood is downstairs where you can enjoy the breeze in the shade beneath the camp. We have a stainless boiling pot and burner as well as a full size stainless gas bar b que pit ready to go with natural gas connections. Below the camp is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water , 2 cypress swings, 2 tables, a bench and covered parking for 5 vehicles.
The camp is designed for year round comfort with 2 central heating and air units. It has solid wood walls and is well insulated making your stay very comfortable and quiet. The bedrooms have black out curtains. Every room in the entire camp (except the baths and laundry room) has a ceiling fan.
Location is within walking distance of the island grocery store, a fun dance beach bar, several good restaurants, and the snowball stand. A golf cart access to beach is just 100 ft away. Our area of the island is the best for surf fishing, crabbing, and catching shrimp.
Note warning: Don't get on the rocks. It is against the law and dangerous. There are strong currents, sharp barnacles, and lots of bird poop. Always watch children in the surf.
Sorry!! No pets allowed and no drugs anywhere on the property. Smoking allowed outside on the porch or down stairs .Violation of these policies will lead to expulsion from property with no reimbursement.

Our family (4 adults and two kids), stayed in this spacious and well stocked cabin. Martha was such a great host and answered any questions or concerns we had in a timely fashion. This cabin is AMAZING! We are already looking at dates for next year!

Although it was not great weather, we were able to spend quality time with our kids and grandkids! We played family games, flew kites and enjoyed the beach and the big waves. We had the grandkids, 7, 6 and 5, wear their life jackets and they were perfectly safe in the big waves. They had the best time!

We loved the deck overlooking the ocean and how assessable the cottage was to the birding areas,places to eat, and biking. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen and communal areas were very nice. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat!

The Villa was clean, well stocked with amenities, short walk to the beach. The outside porch was peaceful with the waves of the water in ears shot. Great location to grocery store and restaurants. Rocking chairs for comfort as well as the beds. Roomy bathrooms, bedrooms with a dream of a kitchen. The pictures on the listing is what you see when you arrive. We will be booking again.

I planned this trip for my 13 year-old nephew, who loves to fish, but my entire family, including my fishing-adverse mother, had a blast. The house was perfect: comfortable, inviting, thoughtfully designed and extremely clean. We all enjoyed the amazing view from the deck and the close proximity to the beach. Overall, this was the prefect spot for a long overdue family trip and I cannot recommend it enough.

Two families with young children, the property was wonderful! Lots of different “spaces” for everyone to spread out (game area, swings downstairs, beautiful front porch, and of course the beach). Crab pot, grill and fish station were great additions . Short walk on the path to the beach, wagon was helpful. Supermarket and gas station were very close which made it easy to grab something if forgotten. Nice quiet neighborhood. Will definitely be returning!

Book this house! After seeing the 5 star reviews, I can understand why it’s highly rated. The house has a big deck with a 180 degree view of the ocean with easy access to the beach. It’s clean, well-stocked, comfortable, and beautifully decorated with delightful, whimsical artwork and decorations. I wish that I wouldn’t have lugged so much from home with me because the extras that I thought that I needed from home were already there! The owner is easy to communicate with, and we had no problems accessing the key, parking, etc. The locals were friendly, and we felt safe and welcomed. Would definitely go back!

Our first vacation as a family of 6 (4 kids, 4 and under) was a success thanks to this lovely home. The room layout is perfect. The bedrooms are separated from the main living areas, kitchen, and powder room by a door, providing extra quiet for naps. There's a bathroom at the end of the hall, which was perfect to pitch a pack n play for the littlest. All the rooms have black out curtains. We were able to unpack in record time as the kids were kept very busy picking through the toybox and pouring over all the kids books. Many rocking chairs to snuggle up with the littles and read those books before bed. The roku TV brought Winnie the Pooh to the beach and allowed for a peaceful dinner prep (as much as you can with that many littles). The multiple porch swings were a big hit and the top porch is entirely enclosed. The location is great, I could see my husband out fishing as the sun rose and sipped my hot coffee in peace. The outdoor shower was an added hit with the kids. We hopefully will be back as soon as our backs recover from packing our Griswold style minivan topper to make many more memories. Martha, cannot thank you enough, the retreat was just what our family needed.

Spring Break 2022- We felt like we had rented our own private beach! The whole time we were there we saw very few people. The house is exceptional and the owners were very responsive. The owner is the artist of the artwork in the house. I was thrilled to be able to purchase one of her paintings. Overall this was a great house! I highly recommend!

This is our second stay at La Dolce Vita and we love it here! Even though the weather was not the best, we remained comfortable and spent time together as a family, which was the point of our trip after a rough 2020. Martha is wonderful to deal with and we will definitely return!!

Great camp, great location, great owner. We stayed for a week and had a wonderful vacation. Instructions were clear, everything in the camp was in working order, and communication with Martha was easy and pleasant. Zero negatives to report. 100% pleased!

The camp is perfectly located on the beach of Grand Isle. Beds are comfortable. I love the back deck and furniture available. The lift was the best .. all groceries and suitcases rode up to the top door !! The camp had all you need for a long stay and more stuff that you didn't think of brining !! Thank you .. we will return in 2021 !!
