Peaceful unspoiled comfortable nature stay to renew your mojo

Breathtakingly Beautiful location. Excellent hosts. Delicious breakfast and supper. Charming domestic animals (Pedro dog, cats, chickens, cows) and wildlife (butterflies, lizards even wild tortoises). Used as base for walking, lake tour and sightseeing.

We booked our stay at Skadar lake family resort as an intermediary point between the mountains and the seaside, yet it turned out to be one of our favourite places during our stay in Montenegro. Lili and Dusko run a guesthouse at a fabulous location with a magnificent view of Skadar lake, and they make you feel like you are part of the family. Dusko is not only the chef who prepares excellent meals, but also captain of his own boat. Don’t miss out on taking a boat tour on the lake with him. The landscape is exceptional, it really feels like a jungle. Dusko and Lili are also happy to provide you with information about the region and point you to hidden beaches and other spots off the beaten track. Thank you again for having us!

Absolutely amazing family guesthouse by the Skadar lake

The reception is very friendly and family-like. Everything is clean and cosy. They have a great restaurant too and serve home-made food. The rooms are quite comfortable, Wi-Fi works well and the view from the rooms and on the terrace is amazing. It's situated very close to the amazing viewpoints on Skadar lake canyon. I absolutely enjoyed my stay there and Lilly was really kind. Hvala!!!

A wonderfull discovery at Skadar Lake!

Lilly & Dusko were very kind and always aware of our wellbeeing. The room was confortable, and clean. Local breakfast was perfect! We enjoy the boat tour with Dusko on Skadar lake! Relaxed familly athmosphere! Note that you are in a gesthouse, not a hôtel!

You can´t drink the water in the room! It's comming from the lake!

Best resort in the city

Everything perfect. Their foods and drinks are of quality and delicious. Rooms are super confortable and there is everything you need. The staff is the best i have ever seen, really generous and funny. I loved pedro(the little dog). I recomand you to do the tour in boat is beautiful.

The owners who are the family were very nice and welcoming. They care that the customer is satisfied provide us information about the area and we rent a boat for the lake with the same owner of the resort we feel "family" and "friends" rather than "customers"

Cheap accommodation

The location is breathtaking: I didn't know how beautiful the Skadar region is. It's probably one of the areas of Montenegro that haven't been spoiled by "progress" yet. There are plenty of cats, swallows and a fat chiuaua. We loved the quiteness, wildness and tranquillity of the place.

The rooms look like in a general state of decay. The room was clean only at the floor level, but there were spiderwebs on the ceiling, dust on the frames and dirt inside the gap between the mosquito net and the windows frames. The mosquito nets are broken. Also 2/3 coffee tables are broken. The bed has a plank which needs to be fixed. Also, walls require a refresh, because they are mouldy. For the time we were there, I cleaned spiderwebs and removed a wasp nest from the window shade and my bf repaired the bed. The breakfast is not included, but I was reling on the tea/coffee facilities . The "tea/coffee facilities" consist in an electric kettle left in the corridor. There are no cups or spoons. There is a lovely balcony, but cannot be used until they remove the wasp nest under one of the chairs. There's a restaurant, but we found it a bit expensive and from what I see they don't accept cards, I don't really look forward to make maths when I am at the restaurant to see if I remain in budget. In general, it doesn't really feel like you're welcome.

Great place and fantastic views!

The warm hospitality of the family and staff! Even though we arrived earlier than we said they immediately started to prepare our room and gave us a drink in the meantime.

The water boiler for the shower needs to be turned on quite some time in advance, for us it was turned on 30 mins in advance for +-3 minute shower, a small hint regarding this would be great for future guests :)

Family atmosphere in the heart of the mountains and Skadar Lake

Delicious food Fish has been sauced from a local lake, the resort provided organic food and a home-made cuisine experience with high-quality products made by an experienced chef. The stuff was really excellent. The wife is very friendly and polite woman, doing breakfast, cleaning ... His husband is a capitán of the boat, did us amazing trip on Skadar lake. Incredibly beautiful places, we couldn't stop taking pictures. The captain in the evening turned into a chef and prepared us unbelievably tasty trout caught by him the day before

First stop of our roadtrip in Montenegro. We really enjoyed the hotel. Family run business. Peaceful environment. Excellent homemade cuisine. Try the fish dishes :) Very nice boat trip on the lake with Duško and Pedro the survivor dog ;) I would highly recommand.

Nice place to stay in Skadar lake

This family resorts makes you feel at home. Rooms are clean. It is located next to the lake. The family is nice.

The boat tour in the lake was 75€ for 1.5 hour. We thought that we would be alone considering the price however we ended up with another couple. We found it very expensive considering that we were not alone. I would recommend to the visitors to go down the village where you can find many agencies who can take you to the lake on your own. On top of that the tour was very quick, we did not make any stop… We were disappointed for the price we paid.

A major pity that we had to endure Sam for as long as we did

Owner's (Lili) willingness to help resolve any issues News from Lili on Friday morning that Sam had left - see matters we didn't like Some helpful(?) suggestions for Lili: throw away cracked plates, buy a dishwasher to clean crockery and cutlery, improve time between taking food order and delivery of food to table, improve play area (broken trampoline and paddling pool), invest in better wifi, extend menu choice?, improve (or get rid of!) table decorations, replace falling-down shower curtain in Room 6. This all costs money but would avoid negative reviews such as this one Lili, we appreciate that working within a limited budget is difficult and that ideas such as extending the menu choices is probably impracticable, but cracked plates, dirty crockery and cutlery, and better (or none) table decorations can all be achieved relatively inexpensively You and your husband made sincere efforts to make our stay enjoyable. We hope that these suggestions will be taken as constructive and not destructive

Sam! He boasted that he had never had a bad review. Sam, if you're reading this, brace yourself. Claimed to be odd-job man but there was so much he could have done but that was left unattended. He basically lacked initiative and, in our minds, was just about as lazy a person it has ever been our displeasure to meet. Waste of space (and Lili's money) He could have: cleared broken fences from round the parking area, set up more wasp traps rather than just one half way through the week, cleaned the table decoration pots and condiment holders, repaired the toilet seat BEFORE our arrival, repaired the shutters (straight out of Mama Mia), repaired the droopy curtain rail in Room 6, filled with silicon the gaps behind the bathroom fittings in Room 6, removed the cobwebs from the gap between the window and the shutter (Room 6). Instead Sam spent hours each day talking on facetime (?) with friends (in UK?). We were subjected to hearing his life history within 5 minutes of our arrival - and we really were not interested. Even Manuel from Fawlty Towers would have been an improvement. Sam, you did Lili a great service when you walked out on her without giving her any warning

It was clean-ish. The bathroom and bedsheets were clean but there was a lot of spider webs all over, I didn't even dare touching the outside blinds. Lots of random stuff around the property. The place needs a good clean and tidying. There were outside toys for kids but they were really worn out, some broken. Again, the broken pieces were just left on the floor. I can't really decide whether I liked it or not. I'd certainly go back for food but I don't think I'd stay there again
