Revisit the Cape Cod of Your Memories.
The Neighborhood: Colonial Acres at Lewis Bay is a Gem in the Town of Yarmouth. We fell in love with this neighborhood over 30 years ago. To this day it remains one of the happiest places on Cape Cod. It features quaint architecture, with tree-lined sidewalks most of the way to the beach. We love it for the friendly atmosphere where residents smile, wave, and greet each other by name. The visitors, and great neighbors make this a special place.
There is limited free parking at the beach at the end of Standish Way where a short bridge to the beach, gives it an Island Vibe. The kids love to catch blue crabs from the deck. Once on the beach on the right there is a small marina with boat slips, a boat channel and rock jetty where all enjoy fishing.
Relax in one of our beach chairs. Watch Ferries coming and going to the islands, Kayakers, Windsurfers, Sailors, Power boats, Water Skiers, and paddle boards. Never boring, there is always someone or something to watch. The beach is 1000 feet long. Your spot is waiting for you.
Exact Location: 12 Standish Way West Yarmouth.*Close to Bagels and Beyond and many restaurants, breakfast places, stores, attractions.* 1.5 miles from Hyannis and the Ferries to the Islands plus restaurants, stores and attractions.*Dozens of beaches within a 3 mile radius of our house.
The Property: 2BR 1 Bath * Homey * Fully equipped * Original built-in kitchen cabinets tastefully painted in a sea foam green with white trim and scallop shell handles. * Maple hardwood floors * Area rugs add warmth and comfort. * Soothing Summer breezes or Window Air Conditioners * Sleeps a maximum of 4 * Queen Bed * Full Bed and a Twin Bed * Pack and Play Crib * The house is 700 square feet.* Please bring your own sheets and towels. * We provide everything else. * High speed internet* Comprehensive Guest guide * Smart TV's, DVD and VCR instructions. * Movie selection * Stereo * Books.
Flip through our guest guide, read the headings and you will find what you need.
The Backyard: Hammock * Bird Feeder * Feels private * Outdoor shower * Propane Grille with backup tank * Patio table and chairs.
This is a quiet, residential neighborhood with a community, happy feel to it. Quiet time is after 10 p.m. Consideration is appreciated.
Personal Considerations: Limited mobility? Tall or Large? Please see bathroom pictures-as we have less toilet leg room than most. Dog friendly * Be aware if any member of your party has allergies.

Rob and Jean are amazing hosts. Hibiscus House was comfortable and had everything we needed and more. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. Kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, yard (hammock!)...everything is so well kept. There was so much information provided by the hosts regarding the beaches, restaurants, and entertainment in the area. The short walk to the beach along with the chairs and beach toys were a bonus. We brought our bikes and it was only a short trip to the Cape Cod Rail Trail. It was truly a pleasure to spend our vacation here.

Such a fantastic location - walk to the beach, the bagel shop and a short drive to all fun things on Cape Cod. Centrally located but the back yard makes you feel worlds away! Lovely neighborhood and great place to enjoy the Cape and get to all of the day trip spots. Well stocked home with anything you could need! Perfect for a couple and a nice get away! The nicest greatest hosts ever!!!!

Great stay!
We had a great time at the Hibiscus House. It is in a great location right near the beach and restaurants galore. Easy to drive to and enjoy other towns on the Cape as well.

The Perfect Retreat
I rented the cottage for my sister and brother-in-law who were moving to the Cape from CA to look for their new home. I was only able to stay for one night personally before heading back to Nantucket but my family thoroughly enjoyed Hibiscus House for a little over two weeks. The location was superb. Daily walks to the beach were a highlight for them. Rob and Jean were the ultimate hosts, making sure they had everything they needed. We were so happy to meet them at the house and thank them personally for their hospitality. They also left an amazing book full of information of places and sites to see and visit, which included many unknown and hidden gems! I need a copy of that book! My sister’s dog, Annie, was made to feel welcome and right at home too. Many thanks to the owners for taking such great care of my family!

The perfect getaway!
We booked this stay on a whim and were so happy with it! The location was absolutely perfect and only a short walk to the beach and a really good bagel shop. The place was very clean and the hosts were very thoughtful when preparing the space during the pandemic. The cottage had everything that we needed from a grill to hammocks and we can't wait for the opportunity to come back!

Lovely cottage in perfect location
My husband, toddler son, and I spent a lovely late summer week at Hibiscus House and would highly recommend it. Rob and Jean were the most thoughtful and communicative hosts. They reached out multiple times in advance with individualized recommendations and were quick to answer any question. The cottage is small but was perfect for our family of 3. It was very clean and well stocked (lots of videos, kitchen supplies, beach supplies ad toys). The yard was beautiful - we especially loved the hammocks and our son loved the wagons and toys. The grill worked well and the set up to eat outside was perfect. The location of the house is ideal - walking distance to the beautiful Colonial Acres beach - a true gem. Highly recommend this lovely couple and wonderful hosts

Nice but Small
Very Clean, Nicely equipped place had a yard with a small patio. Owner was attentive not pushy. Drawbacks were a Very Small Cramped Bathroom & Old Uncomfortable Mattresses.

Great location in center of Cape
Hibiscus House was just as described. User Manual was extraordinary, with extensive information on all Cape activity. Three air conditioners were sufficient to deal with heat wave.

Fall Get Away at Hibiscus Beach
This charming home is perfect for a fall get away. October is an excellent time to visit the Cape and we had perfect weather. Hibiscus Beach House is a short walk from the beach, where our dog exhausted himself retrieving his tennis ball from the water. Dogs are allowed on most beaches on the Cape after Labor Day. At the other end of the street is a cranberry bog and we bought plenty of FRESH berries back for the holidays. There is an excellent fish store just a short drive away and with a grill in the backyard we made some excellent meals. There are also wonderful restaurants in the area especially 4 Seasons, a new one. The backyard at Hibiscus Beach home is very comfortable and you can enjoy all the birds at the feeder. We even saw a red bellied woodpecker there one morning. Our favorite beaches were Nauset in Orleans, Coastal Island in Wellsfleet and Race Point up in P'town. We saw a large group of seals very near the shore at Race Point. P'town is very dog friendly and has many great restaurants as well. Hibiscus House is centrally located so it was easy to head out for the day and visit many places.
Although we never met Jean, Bob is great and very helpful with all the info provided at the house, dog beaches, restaurants, bikes, whale watching. Something for everyone here. If you've never visited the Cape in the fall you might want to give it a try, no crowds either.
We definitely recommend Hibiscus House and look forward to returning next October.

OK, but the owner is very nit-picky
The place is pretty good overall. Beds are comfortable, there is cable TV, Internet, air conditioners and washer/dryer, which are all big pluses. The bathroom needs towel hooks. Owners provide a lot of games, books and they even have a website with directions to nearby attractions. But the house was a bit dusty when we arrived and there were not enough cleaning supplies to leave it in the same "perfect condition" that the owner expects. Bring your own floor mop, vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies, because the owner will charge you extra cleaning fee for the spills on the kitchen floor.
Here is an example of the things that the owner picked on in the end and charged us extra clelaning fee:
- dirty dishes left in the sink (I left one dish, because we were rushed out)
- spills over most of the stove area. I remember wiping the stove...
- failure to wipe up spills on the kitchen floors (there was no mop in the house)
- chewed gum left on the table and nightstand
- the dryer lint filter was full
- the grille was not cleaned after final use
- a wine glass was broken and spilled wine was left on the floor. Again, there was no mop, but I cleaned the floor as much as I could with paper towels.
- the dresser door had to be repaired (that door must have already been broken, because the dresser was really old).
- burnt teapot. The teapot had a broken whistle, so my husband didn't hear it.
Alltogether the "damage" came to over 100 dollars.
Last year we rented from a different guy, who didn't have cable TV and washer/dryer, but he was very nice and didn't charge us any money for the broken table lamp, not to mention the small nit-picky stuff like chewing gum.

Great Vacation Rental
My family was very pleased with Hibiscus House. The owners, Bill and Jean, live nearby and are friendly, informative and prompt in responding to questions. The property is well maintained, very clean and nicely decorated (with a nautical flair of course). Bring your own bed linens and towels but just about everthing else you may need is there including toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a fresh dish sponge, Dawn dish soap, laundry detergent and Softsoap in the bathroom. The kitchen had all the dishes, cookware and utensils we needed and the refrigerator was pristine. The bathroom was also very clean - there is a tub with shower but we only used the delightful outdoor shower. One funny thing about the bathroom is that the toilet is very close to the tub making it a challenge for longer legged people to sit down but we all managed just fine. The yard is relaxing with an outdoor table and plenty of seating, a hammock and a vegetable/flower garden. The basement access (with washer/dryer) is only from the yard and has storage space for bikes if needed. There are also some outdoor games stored down there.
It is in a very good mid Cape location - a short walk up the street to the quiet bay beach and within biking distance to the Nantucket ferry, tennis courts and Sea Gull Beach. Plenty of restaurants, shopping and minigolf/arcades within a few miles and some within walking distance. There are binders with local attraction and restaurant info in a kitchen cabinet. We had excellent weather but on the one rainy day there were plenty of movies, games and magazines at the house to keep us busy as well as good wireless internet service. There does not seem to be a landline phone anymore but with cell phones none is needed.
If we return to the Cape we would not hesitate to stay here unless we had too large a group.

Great family cottage
In the end of August we enjoyed a wonderful sunny week at the Hibiscus Beach House with our two children (10 + 12 years old).
The house is very cosy and comfortable and offers everything you need for a perfect vacation. The children found a little boat and kite for the beach, there were games, books and all kinds of maps for exploring Cape Cod. We especially loved the garden with the hammock, BBQ facilities and tomatoes. We shared the garden with lots of birds, squirrels and rabbits!
As good as the house is its situation close to a nice little beach and also close to road 28 from where you can reach all Cape Cod attractions. We went to different beaches, the great sand dunes near Provindetown, to a Whale Watch Tour etc. which we can all recommend.
Thank you to Bob and his wife for this nice place to stay.

Fabulous Holiday at the Cape
My partner and I are just back from Cape Cod and I have to say it was just perfect! The cottage was as described - it was a real home from home - we would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to visit New England. The location is excellent for exploring the area and it has lots of facilities nearby eg restaurants, food stores and a handy liquer store for that all important bottle of wine! When there we also travelled to NYC by local bus (Hyannis) ok, it was quite long..but the bus was really comfortable and took us to the center of New York in around 6hrs. We spent 2 days there and had a fantastic time!! Well worth the journey.

A Home Away From Home
The Hibiscus Beach House was like a home away from home. The cottage was exactly as advertised in the photos displayed on the website. When we walked in it was just like coming home. The property was clean and very homey. The owner was there to greet us and show us anything we needed to know that was not included in the property description. We would definately recommend this to a friend. It was better than a motel room because you had a separate living room to relax in with comfortable furniture. Your bed was not also you relaxing sofa or chair because these were separate areas, unlike a motel room. We had planned on cooking some meals in, and everything was there to make that doable, but with the schedule we put ourselves on we ate all evening meals out. We did eat breakfast in on the days when we were not out of the house early for site seeing. We will definately choose the Hibiscus house on our next visit to the Cape because of its central location to everything on the Cape.

Nurturing atmosphere
The Hibiscus Beach House is such a comfortable, lovely home its like the nurturing atmosphere associated with Grandma's house. The location is prime for enjoying various activities all within driving distance. The house is very clean and well maintained, complete with any household item you could possibly think of. Bob and Jean are honest, delightful people who really care about their renters. We have rented the house twice so far and will hopefully be renting it a third time this year!
