The "Trailside Chalet" is a beautiful classic Vermont ski chalet with all the modern comforts of home. Our home is located ON OKEMO MOUNTAIN across the street from skiing and riding at Okemo Mountain Resort -- only a 100 yard walk downhill from the Sunshine Chairlift and Suncatcher ski trail (typically open late Dec - end of March). Best part is - you won't ever hit any traffic because we are already on the mountain! The Chalet is located on a private wooded lot overlooking a babbling brook on Okemo Mountain. Our updated kitchen and 2 full baths are complimented by 5 bedrooms, a pool table, outdoor fire pit, and plenty of space to spread out!
A short drive down the mountain is the picturesque town of Ludlow with many quaint restaurants and shops.

About the Home:
At our house, we want you to have that 'home away from home' feel. The Trailside Chalet's main floor offers a great room with vaulted ceilings, a central sitting room and a wood burning fireplace. Completing this level is a modern kitchen, primary bedroom with a king size bed, full bath and mudroom for all your ski and boarding gear, The kitchen has been renovated and includes granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, and essential cooking and kitchen accessories including everything from utensils, to pots and pans to paper towels.

The second floor hallway overlooks the living/dining room and features two bedrooms. The second floor also offers a renovated full bathroom with tub.

The lower level's game room has a pool table, dart board, and sitting area with a smart TV. The lower level also features two bunk rooms with beds for six. We also have plenty of DVDs, books, games and puzzels in the lower level to keep everyone entertained.

I am happy to report that our second stay at the Trailside Chalet was just as wonderful as the first. We have family in CT and NH and have met up there for the second year in a row now to spend time together in Ludlow, VT. The house was neat, clean, well-stocked with paper goods and towels and the beds are very comfortable. The pool table is a big hit with the whole family and got regular use during both of our stays. The house is located very close to places to eat and it a nice middle location to visit places like St. Gauden's National Site, Wilson Castle and the Vermont Country Store. We also very much love being able to use the Pool up at Jackson's Gore and going on the Mountain Coaster there. . This is a great place to stay! I can't say enough positive things and I really have no negatives.

We stayed here for 5 nights with my brothers and their family. First of all , the house is very nice and clean. There r 2 rooms with single bed / bunk bed downstairs that we put all our kids in that 2 rooms. There is a common area down stairs with pool table . Kids had so much fun playing there with their cousins. Second , their house is around 3-4 mins drive to the Okemo mountain base. Very close and very convenient. Everyone had a great time here and most of the all, the house owner is very nice and always respond quickly whenever I have any question. I would highly recommend this ski house to anyone 🎿👍🏻

Ideal setting for our small family to just site-see & relax for a couple of days. Quite a number of craft shows , exhibits, & festivals, all within about 20 minutes drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there amid perfect Fall colors! We’d do it again.

Our stay at the Trailside Chalet was fantastic! It was a great central location for all of the things we wanted to accomplish on our long weekend. The home was clean, cute and comfortable. Our reservation went smoothly and we had no issues with the property. I would highly recommend booking this property for a family vacation. I would definitely book again if I was in the area. Definitely a 5 star experience.

Stayed here for 3 nights with two families and it was a clean, comfortable stay for all of us skiers. We had very cold weather so the fireplace warmed us up nicely! Host was very responsive and house was very clean. Lift by the house opens at 9 am.

The Trailside Chalet was a great experience for our 3 families. We had 10 people and it was spacious enough for all. The check in was easy and the owners very proactive with information. The home itself was fairly well stocked in the kitchen and we made good use of each level (including the fireplace). The location was also good as it was a short walk to the new lift on the left side of the mountain which made a full day of skiing an easy experience! We would be happy to stay again sometime!

This is our second time renting the Trailside Chalet for our February school break- and it's always the best! Convenient for access to the mountain/downtown, communication is always excellent and we enjoy our time in the house. The kids have a great time in the downstairs-TV and pool table adjoining their bedrooms. Kitchen is easy to access and prepare meals-only bring along groceries. Thanks again to this property team- another great experience!!

We had a great time. Bed were confortable. The home had all the necessities youbwould need in the kitchen. Great location for access to the lift as well as driving to town to eat. Plwnty of wood for the fireplace in the evening. Kids loved having their own space to play pool and their video games.

We loved our stay here! Location was perfect, and the three floors of living space was exactly what we needed for multiple families. We have never stayed on this side of the mountain and we loved it. We were able to jump on the lift with a quick walk and be out for the day. The kids loved the bottom level space where they watched shows, played games, pool and darts. This allowed the adults to have the entire first floor for relaxing by the fire. Being able to walk to a lift is a game changer for us, and although that was our main reason for choosing this space, after this week there are so many other reasons we would chose to stay here again. In fact we are already looking at dates for next year! Thank you for the hospitality and sharing your beautiful property with us!

I took my son and daughter and two of their friends up to Okemo for the weekend for my son's 16th birthday. The house is a great house! Located very close to one of the lifts at Okemo, we can just walk to the lift without having to park at the base. The lift is on the far left side of the mountain, so it takes a bit for the crowds to get over there. Recommend getting out there early before the lift lines get long. Super responsive owner and fantastic accommodations - can't recommend it more.

The location of this house, communication and instructions for the owner were all outstanding. Not enough snow for the the new sunshine quad to be open but this is basically "ski in/ski out". The house was a great setup for the kids to sleep, play, watch kids shows in the basement while the adults could enjoy the upstairs area by the fire and TV. My only two complaints is that the unit could use a living room seating and grill upgrade. I am used to a charcoal grill but this grill was something that you would see at a camp ground vs a standard weber grill which made grilling tough. Also, the two single chairs in the living room were two of the most uncomfortable chairs I have even sat in. Other than that place was great and I would stay there again.

We love to come to Okemo in the off season to get away and relax. We came here with another family and had plenty of space. The beds were comfortable, everyone loved the pool table and the fire pit area outside. Owners were responsive and made sure we got there ok and everything was up to par in the house, which it was. Very clean and organized.. Ludlow is a cute town and we drove to Woodstock and Quechee and enjoyed a day out there. We would definitely rent here again. Thanks so much for a pleasant stay.

This was a weekend of eight friends who have been friends since grade school. We wanted a quiet spot with great indoor and outdoor space. Outdoors, the deck and fire pit were great spots to hangout. Indoors, we played cards, pool and darts. The kitchen had everything that we needed and really lent itself to staying in and cooking meals, even though the guy who was supposed to make late night pizzas kept forgetting to make them. All in all a great place to stay even without the skiing.

We walked the kids easily to their favorite quad lift- easy lunch breaks at the house and back to the mountain-with gear tucked easily in the mudroom. We played pool, made a fire and enjoyed the surrounding woods. Easy parking and access to town- could not have been a better rental for us-thank you!

Our stay at the Trailside Chalet fit our needs perfectly. The layout was perfect for our group. Plenty of space for our young adult children and their friends. The description of the property is very accurate. The communication from Prescott was very helpful and made our arrival and departure very easy. If you are looking to take advantage of the Sunshine Chairlift, note that depending on when you go and snowfall, it may not be running, but the drive the to the mountain is super close. Would definitely recommend and look to rent again for our next trip to Okemo.
