Peaceful !

We are regulars at this apartment. Host Joao is always hospitable and quick to respond. Key collection is by Cala who lives locally and hands you the keys and shows you around the apartment. The apartment is spacious and is more than adequate for 2 people with plenty of cooking utensils. Nespresso coffee machine plus a kettle for us Brits !. Balcony views are always good. The apartment is set up for more than 2 people really but when the price is right it's great for 2 people.

I hope they don't develop the land behind the apartment where the cats live ! It's nice and peaceful as it is ! Sometimes the rampant charge of capitalism needs stopping !!!.

Apartment in Santa Luzia

The apartment is located in a building in Santa Luzia (see picture) in the municipality of Tavira, near Praia do Barril. There are no problems with parking on the street. This village lives off octopus fishing and there are good restaurants specializing in octopus cuisine.

The apartment has the necessary, but in the case of our visit the television and the gas stove were not working proprrly, as was reported to the manager. Be aware that the requires a deposit of 200 Euros for any damage.

Santa Luzia experience

The location was beautiful, we enjoyed watching the boats on the water. Close to facilities such as restaurants and small supermarkets. 40 minutes walk to Tavira was easy enough. Cary welcomed us and provided plenty of useful information. Communication was good between all parties.

Small balcony, just a bit small to enjoy, but there was a roof terrace which we could have used if the weather had been a bit less windy, but that's the luck of the draw.

Location directly in front of some kind of electrical station and a huge commune of cats in the garden area . This place also required a further €200 bond for incidentals /breakages

Superb

The apartment is very nice and located in a lovely area in Santa Luzia. It is centrally located - only a few minutes to reach the riverside with restaurants and a bit longer to reach the beach (Praia do Barril). The apartment is in a quiet area and nothing disturbs you during the sleep. We didn't use the shared balcony which is on the top of the building, but it also seemed very nice. The apartment is spacy and clean.

We had two little issues which shouldn't be played up, but I still mention them here: 1. Until the very end, we didn't really figure out how the hot water system is working. There were moments when we had to wait 10 minutes to go to the shower because we couldn't get hot water 'out'. It was kind of a tricky (I personally never succeeded and gave up, but my husband finally did). 2. The kitchen utensils (pots and pans) are coming from the previous era and seem to be 50+ years old which nobody uses anymore. It feels weird to make a morning porridge or anything else with something so old (made of aluminium, which nowadays is considered unhealthy) - if I was the owner, I would replace them with something newer.

Good apartment in great location.

Lovely location in Santa Luzia - an authentic pretty fishing village. Within walking (25 mins) / cycling (10 mins) distance of Tavira. Beach at Barril is about 30 mins walk (or 5 min drive and 15 mins board walk) Quiet location. Lovely views across the river especially from the roof terrace.

Apartment generally good, but could use sprucing up especially the kitchen and kitchen equipment.

Santa Luzia apartment

Huge communal roof terrace with 180 degree view of the river and island. Great for afternoon/early evening drinks. Two large bedrooms. Excellent shower. Air con in three rooms. Owner João lives nearby and responds to requests in minutes. Will return next year!

A lovely relaxing stay in one of the most beautiful villages in the Algarve

Excellent view over the estuary from the balcony good location for local restaurants and promenade. Comfortable apartment.

All the furniture a little dark a little bit of a make over would transform the apartment to a light contemporary space but appreciate that the owner has kept it traditional
