The location was great... and the hotel is clean.
First, the room was not overlooking the street as shown in the pictures, and at the back of the building...
Secondly, the room was full of beds, a single bed and another double bed... So it was full as if it was a dump of furniture...
Thirdly, the treatment of the staff was bad and dry, as if they were giving you the room for free. They are arrogant and give you orders as if you were in a shelter such as to not closing the door forcefully and where to leave the key.
Fourthly, at breakfast, they allocate you with specific table without freedom to choose where to sit. They gave me the worst table while the Italians gave them good and comfortable tables and they treat them kindly... employees are bad towards foreigners and their treatment became Different since they knew my nationality.

Nice place, clean, got a better room, good value for money...
This is my opinion, but the staff felt a bit...Well, not so friendly. It was really difficult having conversation with the receptionist, it didn't feel so welcoming. Not bad people per se, just very difficult to have a rapport with (and zero issues where I have been up and down Italy).
They were also really keen for me to pay up front rather than on check out, normally no issues anywhere, same at the bar.
Anyway, all in all for what I got, a good price.

Location.
Breakfast provided.
Comfy bed.
Nice terrace.
I wouldn't recommend this. There were only a few things I needed a hotel to have. WiFi was one of those, and let me tell you, it is ABSENT here, it does not work nor in the common areas, neither in the room (2nd floor). I was able to use WiFi on my last day at the terrace, still, this is not what was advertised. The hotel itself is shabby, my towels and pillow case were torn, there were holes in every single item.
Just overall not a great experience.
Hotel does have AC, it's just there's additional cost for it.
Breakfast was average. Me personally did not appreciate the fact that you cannot access some food, like if you want to have cheese or ham, you have to ask the owner to give it to you, you cannot just take it. I mean, what?... 🙄
Shower can be an issue for some people, it is not separated from a toilet, so you are taking a shower and water is covering everything in the bathroom.
Also I don't really get the idea of room service in this hotel, floors were not wiped, essentials were not restocked, towels were not changed, not even once in 5 days!
I think that pictures provided by booking.com are better than reality, which is misleading.

I booked the room for my daughter. I have asked her opinion about the hotel and her room. She is very content about everything, her room and the staff. She said they treat her very well. She said that when she will attend the "stage di karate" next year she would like to stay again in this hotel. I would like to extend my very big "THANK YOU!" to the staff of Albergo Santo Stefano.

The Breakfast was very good, different cakes, fruits, Croissant and many more. We felt very safe, in the night the door was locked with a code, it was no Problem to come home late.
Very close to the beach. Had a great stay.
