Great property! We had an awesome vacation here.

4 night stay with preparation of bridesmaids on Saturday and after wedding brunch on Sunday morning for guests. The house remained pleasant during hot weather and sleeping accommodations worked out. There were a few minor issues (bad shower head) but nothing to spoil a nice stay.

There were 21 of us, three generations, ranging in age from 18 to 91. The home had enough space for everyone to be together as well as having areas to be in smaller groups. Some of our young adults had to work remotely and did not have any problems with internet access. The kitchen is well-equipped. We brought some extra serving trays, baking pans, and seasonings to complement what was there. We took advantage of the outdoor grill for a few meals as well. Having an ice machine was great. Everyone enjoyed the pool. It didn’t need to be heated because of the warm summer weather.
We were disappointed that we weren’t able to use the sport court in the evening (when it was a little cooler outside), because the lights had been disabled. As for linens, we were lacking two sets of bedding for the pullout sofas. Some of the towels and pillows need to be replaced.
Overall, we had a wonderful time at an amazing property. Thanks to the Hays family for hosting us.

The location, amenities, and view are outstanding. The view from the pool deck and front yard are gorgeous.
BUT when I signed up 2 years ago, I had expected 10 adults and 6 kids so I paid for them. Due to a divorce and Covid concerns, only 9 attended. The owner refused, and still refuses to refund the extra charges as he says it's been 2 years and it's my responsibility to make sure everyone shows up. What difference does the 2 years make? If I paid for 12 and did not pay for 16 until everyone showed up, I would have been charged and would have paid.
As for the amenities, the towels were dingy and worn. We had to wash the dishes, glasses, cups, and eating utensils before we could use them. The pots and pans and knives need to be replaced. I had better kitchen tools in a cheap rental that I booked later in San Diego. The soaps and shampoos were lacking. I even had to look for a new toilet paper roll in an unused bathroom to replace the one in the master bathroom. When the two 6 year old girls went running around and played on the floor, they came up with large dust strands on their hair.
There is a pool table, but the pool cues all need replacing. The basketballs, ping pong balls and paddles, darts, pickle ball paddles and balls are all stuffed in a large basket. We couldn't find any darts or ping pong paddles in the mess as we weren't willing to dig through the large basket. Totally disorganized.
For a million dollar home, it was a mess. For what I paid, my wife and I felt cheated even before the extra charges that I believe I am entitled to be refunded.

This property is amazing. It’s everything I could have imagined and more. The home is gorgeous, clean, and just relaxing. It was almost like a mini resort. My family and I enjoyed every bit of it. I had my baby shower here with about 30 guest and everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed their stay!! Mr. Hays and Duncan were quick with a reply and any questions or concerns we had, it was taken care of right away!! I’d definitely stay here again in the near future. I highly recommend!! I don’t have one negative thing to say about my stay here!

I had high expectations coming here. Nothing would have prepared me for the beauty this property offered. The views were my number one favorite part. The outdoor kitchen was the second. With that said I do have to say that the 1 little thing that I was not used to was the lack of little extras in the kitchen. There is no salt and pepper or some basic things that most the places I have stayed has has such as coffee. Even for 1 day. There was a spice rack but had Nothing that I used normally to cook with. With keeping that in mind come prepared. The amazing house and grounds wont leave you disappointed.

BEAUTIFUL PLACE. THE VIEWS WERE AMAZING. THE POOL IS STUNNING.
It needed a little pair and pair in places. New bedding an linen would help. Updating for the kitchen and bathrooms also.

Make sure you are up to date on all the extra charges for the hot tub, pool etc. These are not always extras with other properties in the area, or they are a single fee for the stay. This place has a free per 4 hours per use of the pool and hot tub.

This house is very spacious and comfortable and the outdoor area is perfect. If you are coming in a large group, there are plenty of rooms to sleep in and places to chill. The bar/billiards room was a hit with our group. The pool and jacuzzi were heated nicely every day (extra of course), and we had no problems there. And the view....spectacular! Just make sure you get the remote control for the skylight blinds in the upstairs bedrooms or you may have a challenge getting to sleep. All in all, we had a great time and we look forward to staying there again. Have fun!

This is a long review and we have a detailed timeline of events since the owner will disagree and call us “dishonest.” We stayed here for a family/friends gathering. The Owner wrote a false review to VRBO attempting to justify keeping our deposit. Based on the following occurrences and facts, we deserve our deposit and at least a refund of one night. We overpaid for this home which was not maintained property nor able to accommodate the guests that we had approved to stay:We booked this house back in January 2020 before COVID and originally only had 12 people total confirmed for our stay knowing this house sleeps 28. Due to the pandemic, we had a lot of people cancel as well as some who decided to join because their own vacation plans had been interrupted by the outbreak. We did not think we needed to update the guest count since the home slept 28 and is advertised for family/friend gatherings up to 49 people. When we arrived to check-in with the property manager (PM), Duncan, we knew we would be sleeping 17 to 18 people but again didn’t think anything of it since we are excited to be on vacation. As we started to unload the cars, Larry and Duncan called me because through the cameras they counted more than 12 people onsite. At this time, there were only 11 of us, but we knew we would be a total of 18 and there are additional charges for any questions over 12 that Larry enlightened us to, so we gave the PM & owner our weekend itinerary and updated guest counts. The owner approved our guests & events by charging us for the extra people and 2 garbage event fees and 2 septic event fees.On Friday, the owner had the pool maintenance company there to clean the pool since it wasn’t done prior to our stay (not acceptable for a rental). On Saturday, the owner had his landscapers there fixing a block wall and doing maintenance on the house while we were occupying it. Saturday at 5pm, the septic system backed up downstairs and the owner did nothing about it until I made the PM come onsite 3 hours after my original call. I have all the details and timelines of this weekend in a separate letter. Not only did he approve our # of guests and events, he charged us for garbage and septic to use the home. This was a very hazardous situation and the did nothing to accommodate us but said it was our fault somehow even though he approved our guest count. I am disgusted how this was handled and we were blamed for the lack of maintenance on this home.

Resort-like feeling and unbelievable views! Felt very safe and spoiled there, we all needed a break. Plenty of room for family gatherings, swimming, barbecuing and reading by the pool. Best of all each family had private sleeping bedrooms with a private full bath! We brought in our own food and cooked our meals there to continue Our SIP. Lots of dishes, glasses, mugs, silverware cooking pots, but lacked serving and mixing bowls (no big deal just bring with you). The property manager responded quickly to our needs for hot tub heating request but wi-fi problem on first night made this unavailable for him to do. The gas pit was also not working during our stay, however weather was perfect outside at night enough to eat around it anyway and play family games. (No bugs in Temecula!) Pool was refreshing and no need to heat it. For 9 people we each had a pool towel. There were blow up pool toys in garage to use as well.
The place was very clean, that said, during COVID pandemic I wish reservations were spread out more from previous (or next) guests to ‘air out’ the place. The cleaning lady barely had time to finish when we arrived. The gentleman that met us was friendly and helpful, he made us feel welcome.

Perfect home for a my Wedding Weekend!!
Property:
We booked this home as a central location for family and friends to gather during the weekend of our wedding. It was absolutely perfect for entertaining our wedding party, close family and friends. We could not have found a more perfect home that had all the amenities we were looking for. The pool, BBQ area, basketball court, back bar and especially the back deck/stage area were all clean and well maintained. This was perfect for holding our rehearsal as well as the after dinner/BBQ.
Owner/management:
Larry was very communicative throughout the process and he really worked with us to try and accommodate all our needs within the guidelines that he had to adhere to. Check in was very easy and Larry and his staff walked us through and gave us all the information we needed for a wonderful stay. As with anything, issues will come up, and thankfully ours were few and small. Larry and his staff addressed them quickly and fulfilled all our expectations for good, honest owners/managers.
We highly recommend staying here or at any of Larry's properties. We are planning on returning to celebrate future anniversaries here! Thank you again Larry for being a part of making our wedding weekend such enjoyable and memorable time!!!!!

This is going to be a long review since I know the homeowner will disagree with me. When we arrived at the house, everything was beautiful. We had a family of 10 adults, 3 teenager and 3 kids under 10 at the property. On the 2nd day, 4 of the kids were leaning on the tennis net when a 20 foot light pole fell and hit 1 of the children on the head, fracturing his school, causing a brain bleed and requiring helicopter transport to Rady's. On looking at the light poles, the base was completely rusted out both externally and internally. We immediately told the homeowner, who proceeded to say he would get it settled with insurance company, and that we could use the hot tub for free since the bball court was now covered in glass. We continued with the trip for 4 additional days avoiding the dangerous area. The homeowner seemed concerned and reasonable.
Upon leaving the house, however, the homeowner notified us he was keeping the security deposit due to "vandalism," unsupervised children and more guests over 7 than paid for. 1st, in what way is leaning on a tennis netting and a full light pole falling considered vandalism? It is clearly an unsafe situation and we have multiple pics backing us up.
As for unsupervised children, we had a group of adults directly across the courtyard from the basketball court where 2 teenagers were playing with 2 little kids. We had to be close since we were able to immediately run over and lift the fallen light pole off of the 9 year old's body.
The extra guests issue is also annoying. Due to the homeowners convoluted billing, we paid an extra fee per night per guest over the number 12. So we paid for 16 which is clearly shown on the bill. Afterword, he claims that we told him all children were under 7 (which apparently is his adult age) and didn't pay for them. Which is funny, since we did have 2 kids under 7 who both should have been free. Additionally, 3 people were staying in San Diego while a child was in the hospital for multiple nights. So in the end, we paid significantly more than we should have.
We tried to resolve the issue with Homeaway regarding our security deposit, however they claim that the homeowner can keep it by showing damage, irrespective of whether the damage is due to negligence on his part or vandalism.
So, if you have made it this far, I would be careful using Homeaway or this property owner. The house is beautiful but you may lose your deposit unjustly.

Great Family Reunion
First of all we have stayed in a number of VRBO homes and this was by far one of the best. There were so many activities to participate in that no one (ages 12-70) ever mentioned the word bored. The pool is outstanding. We paid the extra to have it heated from day one and we felt that it was well worth it. We had no problems with getting Larry to switch to the spa and back to the pool whenever we wanted it. The grandkids played pool, tennis and shot hoops, when not in the pool. The location is also ideal since you can be down in old towne in a matter of ten minutes. A big thumbs up and we would definitely return.

“We’ll Be Back”
From the beginning of my communication with Mr. Hays, I had a smooth, comfortable time making all arrangements for our 4-day family getaway. No question was too small for Mr. Hays. The facility had everything a family of 16, ages ranging 6-71, could want. The rooms were elegantly furnished yet very comfortable for all our lounging and family games. The infinity pool, pool table, and outdoor kitchen were put to constant use. The outdoor patio area was large enough for our own giant Jenga and corn hole games. The basketball/tennis court entertained the active ones. The jacuzzi and fire pit with s’mores provided wonderful evening activities. We celebrated our 50th anniversary one evening and enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Il Tramonto in Old Town and a beautiful, delicious cake from the 1914 bakery, all conveniently just down the hill.
We also had 4 dogs with us...yes plenty of room to play.
To say we had a great time would be an understatement. Hope to return!!!

Great family vacation spot
The Hayes estate was impeccable vacation spot for a family of 12. The amenities kept the children and adults in the family fit and entertained. Rather the kids were playing basketball, swimming and playing Marco Polo in the pool, watching the adults act like kids in a pool tournament, or everyone taking in the remarkable views of Temecula. We were blessed by the Hays family hospitality and prompt service!!!
