Beautiful house, exceptionally caring landlady. Discrete entrance to the room. Beautiful garden with sculptures scattered around. Absolutely tasty breakfast, with a wide selection of cheese and pastries. Just outside Cambridge, just 5 minutes drive from city center.
The heating system is not the best one. In winter time could be quite challenging to stay. High prices due to the NZ Fieldays.

Absolutely fabulous stay. Great host, friendly and helpful. Beautiful room, hot tub and delicious breakfast. The house is like an art gallery with beautiful artwork as well as a lovely garden.
Nothing except we didn’t stay long enough !!

Kay & Grant were exceptional hosts. My partner & I felt welcome from the moment we arrived. We loved our stay & will definitely be back. I would highly recommend booking a stay at Maungakawa villa, you won't want to leave!

beautiful yet quirky villa. absolutely fabulous property to stay at with very welcoming hosts. This was a gem of a place to stay and recharge before the drive back to Auckland.
we made full use of the complimentary wine and cheese and enjoyed a dip in the hot tub before bed.
the whole place is beautifully designed and filled with arts and ornaments.

Everything! Its the thoughtful little things that elevate this place from great to fabulous - the drink on arrival and homemade biscuits to have with tea. The spa pool was a real treat after long days on our feet.

The property is gorgeous. Our host Kay is a warm and most interesting lady. Made us so very comfortable. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do to please. The lobby photo is the chamber outside the bedroom we stayed in. Watching the clouds roll by over the hills and pastures through the windows was magical.
The property is perfect. Wish we could have stayed longer. There was nothing not to like.

We had a very enjoyable romantic stay. Right from the start, Kaye greeted us and was very welcoming. We had the out villa which had all the amenities to make your stay super comfortable. Mini bar fridge goodies, cheese/grapes platter, bottle of wine, brownies, chocolates, beautiful linen, toiletries, comfy bed, Netflix! Home cooked dinner was amazing and so was the continental and cooked breakfast! I can not fault this place at all. The attention to detail was impeccable. Kaye and Grant are the most amazing hosts. Very kind and friendly! Thanks again from Rodney and Melissa :)
Nothing, everything was great
