Our stay was perfect for all the ages. The house had everything we needed and more. The thoughtfulness of items was appreciated from the kids step stool for the bathroom sink to bikes and beach wagon. The amount of bath and kitchen towels was great and the quality excellent. The playhouse and fenced backyard kept the kids busy and safe. The kids park was easy walking distance and a very nice park. I personally loved the older home. The built in bookcases, squeaky floors and unexpected cabinets. The house was clean, fresh and relaxing.

Very cute home, clean, comfortable beds and beautiful outdoor areas. The grounds are manicured and everything was in bloom and beautiful. The proximity to the beach was great- just a few blocks down. Loved the added touch of beach chairs to take to the beach and the master porch in the morning for coffee.

We enjoyed our stay in South Haven at this property.
We were 4 adults and 2 children ages 6 and 8. The kids enjoyed the playhouse and the basketball hoop.
The adults appreciated the backyard with the fire pit and the lovely outdoot patio. Beach access was only a few blocks away. Nice house and nice location.

My family and I finally got a chance to visit South Haven again as we used to ever summer 20+ years ago. This was the perfect house and location! Inside of the home was very clean and just enough room to feel comfortable and meet our needs (bedrooms/baths). The outside area we mostly occupied since the weather was beautiful. The patio was huge and had very comfy seating. The fire pit area was also great and especially the adorable little house with so many cute toys to keep my kids occupied. Definitely recommend this lake house! Oh and we brought our own bikes, but they had so many to choose from too. Another great plus! We hope to be back soon!

We loved our time in South Haven and we were so comfy in Susan’s home. The location was great-a few blocks from the beach and our kids loved either biking or walking the trips to and from. We did part of the Van Buren trail nearby. We had a couple of rainy days and her home was perfect for us all having space for playing/relaxing in multiple areas. We would most definitely return.

This property is an older home, but very clean and tidy. We really appreciated the sitting room with plenty of comfortable couches for reading and conversation, and the super fenced in back yard with a nice grill, fire pit and outdoor seating. The play house was a huge hit with our toddler! We loved the short walk to a wonderful playground as well as the beachfront. The owner was helpful and responsive when we had a question. This was a great place to stay!

This house only has only 1 full bathroom that is on the second floor, it was a challenge for the grandparents to shower and take care of themselves. The 1st floor bedroom does not have a dresser or closet. There is an exposed “bathroom” (no doors) in the unfinished basement that has an unpleasant odor and is in need of a dehumidifier. The house was not clean, the surfaces, fans, etc were dirty. There is also not a closet or dresser in the bunk bed room and just enough space on the floor to fit 2 children’s suitcases. There is also not a dishwasher so if you are planning to have a couple families and cooking that might be something to consider. These are all thing we wished we would have noticed (there are other reviews mentioning the same things) before we booked. We emailed the host with feedback the day we left but she hasn’t responded.
The backyard is amazing and it is in a great location.

We really enjoyed the property. It was actually better than the pictures. The kids loved the playhouse. It was close to the beach and playgrounds. Susan was very good with quick communication too. It was quiet in this neighborhood, which was helpful for small chicken who had to go to bed a bit earlier. I would like to stay here again and recommend it to others.

Great area. Backyard was lovely. The ceiling fans had about 1/4 inch of dust on them as well as bathroom fan. It needs a new refrigerator. The freezer had to be held closed by velcro. Hard to keep it closed. The basement needs a dehumidifier because the house had a very musty smell. Also, in the description, the owner needs to say that the second bathroom is in the basement, not main floor, and is not enclosed from the rest of the basement. I think advertising as 2 1/2 baths is a stretch.

Perfect location for our family get away! Description accurate. Easy walk to beach and playground and town , even with two kids in the wagon. House well equipped. Garage full of toys for all ages. The fenced in yard ( with comfy furniture, fire pit, gas grill and playhouse) was our favorite place to hang out. Susan was patient with my many questions. Definitely hope to return.

Truly a perfect location. Close to town but far enough away that it’s nice and quiet. Just a few blocks from kids Corner and the blue stairs beach. We will be booking again! We were all so sad to leave.

This property was more than we imagined it would be. The house was spacious and clean with so much to offer. Very close to the beach and playground. Short walk downtown as well. We loved our stay here and hope to return in the summer!

This property was fine for our family of grandparents, parents, aunt, uncle, and two littles. The close playground was a plus.
There were plenty of beds and seating in the living room and large area in middle of the room for the kids to get our their toys and games. It was also close enough to town that we walked everywhere. The house was very clean. Our only complaint was the bigger bedroom could use a new mattress.
We loved the fire pit and playhouse too.

Our family visits S Haven yearly. This property and owner were great. The house is an older home with all the character of walls that could tell stories. The little play house out back is charming. The outside shower is wonderful for rinsing off sandy children. The extra shower in the basement was nice. The kitchen is a bit small if doing your own cooking but very well stocked. The living area is nice size and the little alcove with the extra couch makes a great kids play/reading area. Susan, the owner, is very kind and responsive!

The property was perfect for a long family weekend. It was a short walk to the beach or to shops/farmers market. L❤️Ved the paver patio. We spent every moment of home time on the patio.
The kitchen was well equipped…wusthof knives…wow!!! My sister is a cook and loved the kitchen. She’s adding this place to her list of favorites for her annual family trip to SoHo The garage was also equipped with bikes kayaks a wagon for beach trips and beach chairs.

We traveled with 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 2 & 4), and the house had plenty of room for us. The backyard had tons of seating, and the kids loved the playhouse. The location to South Beach, downtown, and kids corner was awesome. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, and checking out was easy.

This is our second time staying at this house and we will return again! The grill upgrade was incredible! The backyard is our favorite part of the house! Fenced in, playhouse for kids, comfortable patio seating and plenty of shade in the afternoon for when you get home from the beach.

Last minute trip to South Haven and got lucky to find this house. Outdoor space was excellent. Communication with property owner/manager was great! Would stay here again.

Wonderful stay
House very clean and stocked. Lots of beach chairs to use. Nice bikes, kayaks , balls and toys in garage. Communication with host very good. Easy walk to lake and town. We spent most of our time outside. Yard is best part. Lovely seating area. Nice firepit. Grill a little worn out but worked just fine. We had a 1 1/2 year old. Fenced yard was great for her.

Backyard was the highlight
Loved the fenced yard, Firepit, and grill. Made it easy to relax with my two girls and they were obsessed with the playhouse. Location was good. Having streaming services, beach chairs, a wagon was appreciated. Wish there had been a few more toys and kids books inside the house. Would recommend families bring.

Wonderful property and location
The property was exactly as described. It was clean and roomy with comfortable beds and a huge back yard with a fire pit, a separate patio seating are with grill, plenty of seating and an adorable playhouse (we were all adults but we peeked in).
The property was an easy walk to town, shopping and restaurants. Also easy walk to the lake and beach. It was a quiet, residential neighborhood. I wish we could have spent longer than two nights. There were tons of books, and I would love to have done some reading.. the upstairs bathroom is roomy and there is a cute half bath on the main floor. We did not need to us the shower and toilet in the very clean basement but a larger group would have found that helpful.
I would definitely go back to this property.

Good Home for 1-2 Families
This home would be perfect for 1-2 families. It was a little over crowded for our group of 3 families. Just a couple blocks to Kids Corner, beach access, and about .5 miles from Phoenix St.
Pros:
Well stocked - plenty of dishes, cookware, high chair, 10+ plush towels, multiple bikes, yard games, beach chairs, wagon.
Great yard space - our girls adored the playhouse, fire pit, comfy seating area in afternoon shade.
Cons:
4th main floor bedroom did not have a proper door - roughly 10x7 room with bifold doors.
2nd full bath is a shower, toilet, and utility sink in the corner of the unfinished basement.
Bunk room is roughly 10x7 with no air vents - fans provided.
Finishes need attention - velcro to keep freezer shut, duct tape on furniture.
