Awesome stay. Don’t hesitate to book!

We loved our stay! The hosts were such kind, genuine people who really thought of everything. We were surprised with a highchair, which was very helpful. We enjoyed trying the local treats that they so thoughtfully left for us. The communication was very easy and Marco provided us helpful information throughout our stay. Great location for traveling the island with a rental car. Property and house are well-maintained. We’re our Portuguese-American, so we know and greatly appreciate their hospitality. We wish had could have had a few more days there and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Even our toddler didn’t want to leave!

There is nothing we didn’t like, just noting that the master tub may be a bit difficult to get in and out of or bathe kids for some.

En perle av en villa på en perle av en øy!

Quinta do Charco er en perle på jord! Villaen er svært smakfullt og moderne designet både eksteriør og interiørmessig. Rommene er romslige og luftige og inneholder alt en kan tenke seg for et behagelig opphold. Vår gruppe bestod av tre voksne par og vi hadde rikelig med plass både som samlet gruppe og for å kunne trekke seg litt tilbake enkeltvis. Vi fikk ikke nyte bassengområdet så mye som håpet pga. litt kjølig vær, men det var vakkert å se på. Villaen ligger skjermet til selv om vi hadde utsikt til havet og omkringliggende landskap. Selve villaen oppfylte alle våre forventninger og mer til. Men det som overgikk alle våre forventninger var vertskapet!! Iolanda og Marco er eksepsjonelle verter som verdsetter sine gjester svært høyt. Vi ble personlig tatt hjertelig imot selv om vi ankom sent om kvelden. Iolanda og Marco viste oss hele villaen og tok seg god tid til å prate med oss. Vi fikk også vite at villaen ville bli rengjort to ganger i løpet av vårt 12 dager lange opphold, og sengklær og håndklær ville bli byttet!! Virkelig hotellstandard! Sao Miguel er en vakker øy med utrolig mye og oppleve, og Iolanda og Marco vil gjerne vise mest mulig av øya si. Derfor fikk vi utrolig mange gode anbefalinger til severdigheter og gode restauranter. Vårt opphold ble mye mer innholdsrikt på grunn av deres gode råd og tips. Viss du ser etter en villa som er sentralt plassert på øya, men i et fredelig område og har alle tenkelige fasiliteter, er dette stedet for deg. Men det store ekstra er det Iolanda og Marco som står for - de er de mest fantastiske verter!!! Anbefales på det sterkeste!!!

A wonderful, very special property, home and lovely fruit orchard. The detail in the homes construction reflected conscientious environmental choices. Very relaxing, comfortable and spotless. Exceptional hosts, every detail was taken care of prior to arrival, and the information provided to enjoy the beautiful island of Sao Miguel during our stay suited our every interest and even considered the current weather conditions.

The best holiday experience we ever had, with hosts that really went the extra mile.

Amazing experience! Wonderful home and excellent hosts. We received a lot of tips to make our holiday even better. We were traveling with our daughter of jus below two years old. They did everything to accommodate her. The house is beautiful with a nice view. The garden with fresh fruit is a nice add on.

This an AMAZING property with a pool. The house is well designed. Everything feels like new. House is super clean and extremely large. The parents has a full suite. Each of the other 2 rooms are large. The kitchen and living room are superb - large clean with a great view to Rib Grande and the ocean.

Our stay at Quinta do Charco was magical beyond all expectations. Marco und Iolanda were very friendly and amazing accomodating. They gave us recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants. We received also delicious suprises. We could not have wanted for single thing. Thank you very much for taking care of us and of our needs during our stay! We enjoyed everything! If we come back to Sao Miguel we would not consider staying anywhere other than here. Absolutely perfect! Sad to leave Quinta do Charco.

Excellent properties and hosts

I honestly have never had such an amazing stay and host. We had great communication leading up to our rental period. Marco and Lolanda welcomed us with such a sweet and warm energy. They showed us around the home and you can truly tell that they love their home! Such care and love in how the talk about the fruit and vegetable garden,the island and all the small details in their home. We even got some local sweets and cheese on arrival. Every morning we would pick our own salad and some tomatoes to make breakfast.. how enchanting is that!! During our whole stay the host kept on helping us with what activities where best to undertake in regards to weather or our likings. And half way trough our stay they even popped over to put some sweets in our fridge. Really no word for how amazing this stay was!! We will come back for sure!!!

Gorgeous villa, great location on the island! We stayed for two weeks with my family and our 10 month old little boy. The villa is fantastic and has everything you need....our little boy loved the swimming pool! The hosts are lovely and on our arrival had stocked the fridge with local products which was such a nice touch. They were incredibly helpful during our stay and made lots of recommendations for places to go and things to see. They were also great at communicating with us before we arrived and if there was anything we needed during our holiday. Wish we could have stayed longer and could not recommend this place more! X

This is a beautifully designed modern house in a spectacular setting. The hosts are the nicest of people and will go the extra mile to make your stay totally enjoyable. Lovely welcome package, personal tour of the place on arrival, great communication and recommendations on absolutely anything on the island throughout our stay. It is a high tech house, with air con, wifi, electric blinds, super lighting options and very secure, not that you need it in such a lovely community. For me the most magical thing was being able to walk next door to pick oranges to eat/juice every day. They also have lots of other stuff, which were not in season just yet or just over, bananas, lemons, figs, tomatoes as well as a herbs like parsley and mint.

great house, warm and the best atmosphere of the house we ever expirienced with renting-booking. Great views, a lot of light in the living room, terrace.... great equipment and furniture- really warm and modern. In near by garden you can pick fresh oranges for your morning juice. really kind owners- Marco and Iolanda, thank you!

Beautiful house and high confort with all equipements needed. Perfect for those who enjoy cooking with their loved ones while admiring the view. Uma maravilha, a breathtaking stay on São Miguel island

Quinta do Charco really exceeded all our expectations. The estate is insanely beautiful and offers all and even more luxury than home. The sleek style of the house is also our own, we even got inspiration for our own home! We were really sad to have to leave after a week! The host and hostess are very friendly, take your personal preferences into account and give you an extensive tour. The refrigerator was filled with delicious Azorian specialities of top quality. The hosts also provide some nice surprises during your stay and give you the best tips every day according to the weather. They are always there for you, they are always available. As very frequent travellers, this is one of our best experiences ever, if not the best. We definitely want to come back to São Miguel and will not hesitate for a second to return to Quinta do Charco. When we told them that we were travelling to the other islands, they said that we could still contact them as they considered us to be their guests for the rest of our stay in the Azores. That is perhaps the greatest form of hospitality we have ever experienced. Congratulations on your beautiful property and for your amazing hospitality! Superlatives really fall short here ... Our stay was exactly what we were looking for after the lack of travel and COVID

We loved the house and the outside in feel and the amazing view. All of my party agreed the house made our holiday special in addition to hosts that were able to provide contacts for the wide variety of demands we had from sailing boats to private chefs that came to the villa to cook for us, excursions and excellent restaurants in the city.

It is difficult to think of anything we didn’t like but we all agreed the beds were very hard and could have been much softer.

Everything really. This is a beautifully prepared modern holiday home with charm, a perfect pool, and the fun of a vegetable garden. Excellently located within a 20min drive of the airport and 30-45mins of everything one might want to do on the island (some things much closer). The owners give an excellent introduction and welcome (which is needed because the house has some features that would take time to work out without the intro eg locks and lighting). They are extremely knowledgeable about the activities on the island and full of useful tips. They are also sensitive to individual needs

Nothing. We paid a fair price for an outstanding property. If we can we will stay here again when we next visit Sao Miguel. How can one say better than that?

This is I think the first time I review a house on booking - and this one is worth this first time. Honestly impossible to think of anything I would change. On top of the house, the view, the pool and the kindness of the host, the location is central and perfect for a full discovery of San Miguel. Thank you so much Marco & Iolanda!

Perfect oasis

The house was perfect. It was beautiful, peaceful, clean and the perfect “home base” for our family of 5. The location was perfect and made it easy to travel to anywhere you would want to go to on the island. The owner provided great suggestions of things to do in the area - even rainy day ideas - and some tasty Azorean treats. The space was comfortable and had every thing you could need in a vacation home. The kids loved the pool.

Breath taking dream holiday in a stunning villa on a beautiful island – best holiday ever!

The villa Quinta do Charco is absolutely stunning… great views and very spacious. We were very impressed by the warm welcome of the hosts Marco & Iolanda. The villa is very complete, luxurious and has a real wow-factor. We were surprised by the hosts during our 10 day stay (no spoilers, but they bring a great big smile on your face). The villa is spotless clean and you have so much privacy. There is an alarm system and a locked gate & walls around the property. You will find luscious green all around the villa and next to it is a plantation to pick fruit. Our teenage kids loved the large pool and toys provided. The washing machine and dryer are very welcome too. The villa is located in the centre of the lovely island Sao Miguel, so everything is nearby. The hosts are very willing to give you advise where to go for diner, days out etc. The are so very attentive, warm and personal! We rebooked a longer stay for next year even before we left the island… and we usually never go back to the same place. It proofs this is a great holiday place…. the breath-taking island, the great villa and hosts. Very much recommended!
