Located within a 15-minute walk to the picturesque village of Fontaine de Vaucluse, this ca. 100m2 loft-style conversion has all modern facilities - a fully equipped kitchen, two double bedrooms, a mezzanine ideally suited for children, a large Italian-style bathroom with two showers and a separate WC.
Le refuge sleeps a maximum of 5 people and is located near Fontaine de Vaucluse, ca. 1.2 km from the village center and 6 km from Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a picturesque small town renowned for its antique markets, stores and art galleries at the foot of the Luberon mountain range. Views over the countryside are truly spectacular.
This large holiday rental, exquisitely decorated in a Provençal style accentuating the ceiling’s wood beams and stone walls, is situated on the ground floor of the owners' home. It has a separate independent entrance, a terrace accessible from the kitchen/dining room, as well as a private courtyard with a stone-built filtered pool (ca 6x4.5m) operated from June until September. Nice fully equipped kitchen with dining area, living room with an entertainment corner and a detached sleeping space with a queen-sized bed. A main bedroom with two twin beds and wardrobe, a mezzanine with 2 single beds. A beautiful bathroom with Italian-style shower and 2 sinks. Separate WC. Bedroom linen and towels provided. Housecleaning at the end of the stay €45. All taxes are included in the rental price. Prices vary depending on the season.

Stone house and oversized wooden beams, spacious indoor and outdoor areas, make this a unique holiday home while travelling. Well equipped kitchen with lovely indoor and outdoor dining areas connected by a massive sliding door to bring the outdoors in and expand the overall feel. Used the swimming pool to cool off after a day of touring. Convenient parking for our car. Our host, Dirk, lives onsite and regularly checked in to be sure everything in the gîte was operating as expected and offered suggestions for exploring the local area. Used the washer and clothes ( and wet bathing suits) dried easily outdoors on the drying rack.

Probably one of the best stays we have ever had. We read all the 5 star reviews and understand now why. Property is charming and fully outfitted with everything you might need; meticulously well kept. Great location, and Dirk is a 5-star host who has lovingly restored his home and made this an easy recommendation from us!

Our stay in this house was amazing. Very comfortable with a beautiful location. The home was well supplied with all your needs. The host is gracious and full of useful and great advice. You can also enjoy a bottle of wine with him and the view of the Galas Aqueduct is divine. We will be back! The town is sleepy and lovely. During our time we took a horseback lesson, rode Mont Ventoux and visited many markets and towns. Best holiday yet!! Thanks again Dirk!!

After a three-week tour of Italy and France that included 6 different Vrbo's - I can say without hesitation, that Le Refuge in Fontaine de Vaucluse was the best of them all! Extraordinary in every way. Dirk's wonderful Gite - more like a grotto - is incredibly enchanting. From the gorgeous patio and private pool to the perfectly appointed kitchen and luxury bathroom - we wished we had booked our stay with Dirk for at least another week. The village of Fontaine De Vaucluse is a must - it is breathtakingly beautiful and offers wonderful ambiance and entertainment. That being said - our preference after a full day of sightseeing was to come home to Le Refuge, open a bottle of wine and sit by the pool! I promise you will not be disappointed with this OUTSTANDING Vrbo - but I encourage you not to dawdle around and book your stay before it's gone. You will also find Dirk - the owner of Le Refuge - to be a wonderful and considerate host. BEST VRBO EVER!

Great accommodations with modern conveniences. Short walk to a lovey village with 12th century ruins in the rocks above, as well as restaurants and shops. Very comfy TV area for relaxing after sightseeing and a beautiful outdoor area to drink wine from the nearby local vineyards. Host recommended a scenic drive for the afternoon which was a favorite and was helpful with dinner plans, etc. Ideal! Thank you!

Beautiful loft style property which was the best equipped of any place we have ever stayed in. The pool was lovely and much bigger than the photos make it seem. The terrace and courtyard were very comfortable and private and we spent many happy evenings there. We really appreciate the effort Dirk took to ensure our stay was as good as possible- advising us on local days out and making sure everything was perfect. Our highlights of the week include: canoeing at Canoe Evasion and the L’isle sur la Sorgue Sunday market.

Es war ein kurzer, aber sehr schöner Aufenthalt. Die Wohnung ist top eingerichtet, sehr geräumig und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Terrasse bietet ebenfalls ein tolles Ambiente.

Dream vacation in the heart of the Provence
Womderful stay with view of an aqueduct, close to an excellent winery, and the fountain de Vaucluse.. Great accommodation and a host who many special tips for activities. Highlight was riding up Mont Ventoux on bicycles, the farmer markets in Gordes, Bedoin and la Sorgues and the eveni g Aperol with out host.

Superbe séjour chez Dirk, le gîte est magnifique, décoré avec goût et superbement équipé (comme à la maison). Et que dire que de la piscine en pierres naturelles ! Sehr erholsame Tage in der Provence
Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und uns super erholt.
Der Vermieter wohnt oben im Haus und steht mit Rat und Tat jederzeit bereit. Zudem spricht er fließend deutsch, englisch und französisch was die Kommunikation sehr erleichtert.
Das Haus ist ein altes Steinhaus das sehr liebevoll hergerichtet wurde, top in Schuss ist und super sauber war. Dazu kommt das die Ausstattung insbesondere der Küche super war. Auch die Flasche Rotwein auf dem Tisch war eine nette Geste.
Es hat an nichts gefehlt - es war wie zuhause.
Was uns zudem gut gefallen hat war das es richtige Decken in den Betten gegeben hat und nicht die bekannten französischen Bettlaken.
Wir haben schon viele Häuser gemietet, dass hier ist aber definitiv im positiven Sinne herausgestochen.
Der Innenbereichen mit Pool ist von dicken Mauern nach außen abgeschottet so das man seine Ruhe hat.

Tolle Unterkunft mit persönlichem Kontakt zum Vermieter
Die Wohnung ist sehr stilvoll und schön eingerichtet, sehr gepflegt. Der Vermieter ist äußerst bemüht und gibt im täglichen Kontakt sehr gute Tipps für Ausflüge usw. Die Terrasse ist angenehm im Schatten und optimal zum Frühstücken oder auch am Abend für ein Glas Wein zum Ausklang des Tages. Die direkt am Haus vorbeiführende Straße stört nicht, da sie eigentlich nur unter Tags (durch
Touristen) eine Frequenz aufzeigt, nicht in der Nacht, am Morgen oder in den Abendstunden…Die Wohnung lässt sich sehr gut kühl halten, auch in der heissen Jahreszeit. Der Ort weißt auch eine Boulangerie auf mit traumhaften Croissants :-) Wir kommen sicherlich wieder…Danke für die tolle und traumhafte Woche und die guten Unterhaltungen….

Un merveilleux séjour
Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable. Le gîte est impeccable et Dirk est un hôte très prévenant et d'une grande gentillesse. La piscine nous a enchantés toute la semaine. Les alentours sont magnifiques. On gardera en mémoire les balades dans la garrigue, les parfums et le chant des cigales. Merci Dirk pour cette délicieuse semaine !

Nous avons trouvé un gite impeccablement propre, décoré avec gout ou rien ne manque, la terrasse avec son jasmin apporte un plus incontestable. L'emplacement est parfait pour silloner les visites, le village avec sa source est très sympas. Quant à notre hote, quel plaisir d'avoir fait sa connaissance, bienveillance et gentillesse font parties intégrale du personnage. N'hésitez pas à aller à sa rencontre et profiter de son gite

Un séjour merveilleux
Nous avons séjourné une petite semaine chez Dirk, notre hôte a été très attentif à notre bien-être et plein de bons conseils pour découvrir la région.
Le gîte est un très bon mélange de modernité: cuisine tout équipé avec tout le matériel nécessaire comme à la maison et une salle de bain sublime et très pratique; et d’authenticité avec une décoration aux touches provençale.
Enfin l’extérieur est très agréable et bien entretenu surtout la piscine naturelle qui a fait notre bonheur les jours de forte chaleur!
En résumé je recommence à 100% ce gîte pour un séjour en toute sérénité.

Mind blowingly beautiful rental
We are serious travellers and we have certainly done our fair share of travelling. I can honestly say that this property was the best rental we have ever stayed. This is a very handsome, typical Provencale farmhouse in excellent condition. You have over 100 square meters of space to yourselves along with a wonderful backyard and a private pool. The place is recently renovated with a lot of taste. The kitchen is very well equipped with high quality appliances. There is high speed fibre internet, which, our great host, Dirk, has further enhanced during our stay so that we had very good internet service in all corners of the back yard. We were here for 10 days and could not fault a thing. We are already thinking of going back next summer. Book without hesitation, you will love it! The town itself is an incredible gem as well. We enjoyed daily walks in the town and could not get enough of the beautiful views and the nature everywhere we looked.

Difficult to find
House was difficult to find. Not enough keys to accommodate 4 adults coming and going. Bedrooms had no privacy from each other. Pool was very cold. But house was charming and well appointed.

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour au refuge chez Mr Dirk, qui nous a reçu chaleureusement, mais avec beaucoup de discrétion...

Tout le monde avait son espace pour profiter à sa guise de la journée.
Le gîte est très joliment décoré, parfaitement équipé ( il y a même un petit batteur pour la mousse du chocolat!)
Et l’extérieur extrêmement agréable.
Il faut juste ne pas oublier du coup de sillonner la région qui est très belle aussi!
Je recommanderais vivement cette location.

Très jolie location
Le bien est très joli. Très bien rénové. Fait avec goût. La double douche est très appréciable avec des enfants en bas âge. Cela manque peut-être un peu de luminosité mais c'est un bien ancien donc logique.
Plein d'attentions appréciées à l'arrivée: bouteille de très bon rosé au frais, bouteille d'eau fraîche. Lit parapluie acheté exprès pour notre séjour.
La route qui longe la propriété est un peu bruyante car fontaine de vaucluse est très touristique. Cela ne nous a pas trop gêné mais ça a savoir pour les gens qui veulent être vraiment très au calme.
Prendre en compte la proximité très directe avec le propriétaire.

Wir haben eine wundervolle Woche zu viert (2 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder) verbracht, und es fehlte an Nichts! Ein sehr freundlicher Gastgeber, dem das Wohl des Gastes am Herzen liegt. Eine moderne, saubere Einrichtung, sehr bequeme Betten und ein stets gepflegter Pool, dazu sowohl sonnige als auch schattige Plätze auf der Terrasse.
