About this house rental
Experience the pacific ocean like never before. Our house sits on the beach with nothing between you and the ocean! We hope to provide you with an amazing beach front experience.
Want a great family vacation place? Stay within steps of the Pacific Ocean in one of Oregon's premier beach towns. This sleepy little beach town is great for family get-togethers or romantic weekends. Come and enjoy the beauty! Our house is located directly in front of Haystack Rock in Pacific City, Kiwanda Shores development. Perfect Family house, remodeled recently.
Sit on the deck and watch the kids surf, or walk directly to the water for a swim. Sweeping 180 degree panoramic views of Porter Point to the south, Haystack rock right in front and Cape Kiwanda and the giant dune to the north. Numerous activities in Pacific City, or no activity at all - it's an easy place to just relax on the deck and watch the ocean. Just a short walk up the beach to the famous Pelican Brewery.
A few notes:
We performed a major remodel of the kitchen winter 23/24. The kitchen pictures reflect the remodel. We also added air conditioning with 3 minisplits.
No Smoking inside or near the house - we like clean smelling beach and ocean. This is not your grandma's beach house - but not party central either! Although we rent out our house, it is also our own personal beach house that we stay at often as well.
Strict no pets policy. We have family members and many guests allergic to dogs. So please no pets, even on a visiting for the day basis.
Campfires - County regulations currently allow campfires on the ocean side of the sand dune. You may not burn driftwood or vegetation.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee sunny weather or a clear view of the ocean. While our house IS located on the front row - with nothing but sand between you and the ocean - the winter winds can reach up to 100 mi/hr creating a sand berm in front of all the houses. Most of the time we are able to shovel the sand out of the way, making for a perfect view of the ocean from the house. But other times, we have storms moving in and out - especially in the winter months - pushing the sand, blocking the view. This can occur overnight, so its difficult to keep it clear 100% of the time.
Fees - We have many people ask about the fees. The service fee is a fee VRBO charges directly to you, we do not collect that fee. The stay tax is a county tax that VRBO also collects directly from you. Unfortunately these fees are unavoidable.
** Our cleaners adhere to CDC recommended cleaning protocols for everyone's safety. We actually pay our cleaners $225 to clean the house. Our cleaners are paid a living wage that allows them to support their families.

We have three exterior security cameras. There is a camera above each door to the deck. They point downwards for security when the property is vacant. These cameras are turned OFF during your stay. We also have a ring doorbell which covers the entryway and part of the driveway. This camera is always on.

Had the best time at this property. The hosts were super responsive to any questions we had and quick to reply. The home was clean and cozy. Well stocked kitchen and bedding. We were able to see whales from inside the house and played on the beach all day. Can’t wait to come back next year and stay again!!!

Incredibly windy 3 days. The view from this property was the saving grace. We could not sit outside but we were able to watch the entire coast anyway. The westward facing windows are great. The property is well maintained and equipped; I’d definitely stay here again.

We have an extended family reunion every year. Other families stay in near by houses. Our house has living space for both adults and children. In addition it has large kitchen and living room plus surrounding deck for visitors to come by and be close to the ocean without being crowded. The owners are very accomadating to save the date. We were pleased to see the the new remodel job.

Can’t get much closer to the sand and sea than this. House was perfect for 2 families with kids. Just enough space if you needed separate times, but close enough for all to hang out together. House had all the basics, even a sand toy box with balls, buckets, and shovels, Adirondack chairs on the patio to enjoy the sunsets, and cozy blankets to help with the evening chills. Definitely enjoyed ourselves and great family memories were made.

This was our 2nd stay at the Ocean Front House. Last year we loved it so much, we re-booked for this year before we even checked out.
This year we were had such a hard time leaving, we reached out and were allowed to stay one more night. Todd and Katie have been more than accomodating and we can't wait to visit again!

This beach house is an ideal location! Situated right on the beach, perfect for playing in the sand, gorgeous sunsets, and always enjoying an ocean view. Property manager was quick to respond to any concerns and very helpful! I would stay here again!

This is our third time renting this home for our annual end of summer beach trip! We love this house and the fantastic views and access to the water. We have already booked our stay for next year! We have stayed at this beach house three years in a row...it's been well enjoyed by our small but multi-generational family. The location cannot be beat. It comes with all the amenities as listed and the home is just so pleasing to the eye - especially looking through all those clean windows - to that "ahhh" view. Love it. Lovely hosts too.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful, wonderfully stocked rental home with one of the most incredible views! Everything about our stay was perfect. The owners were incredibly understanding and helpful when we got a bit stranded due to paralyzing icy weather on the coast. We greatly appreciate all they did to help us get back to Portland. We highly recommend this property and will definitely make plans to return to one of our favorite spots!

Probably the best beach house I’ve ever stayed at the view is amazing and it’s awesome to have the kids be able to play in the sand literally right off the deck…. I’ll also add there’s some nice cookware in this house which was a huge bonus for me cause I do a lot of home cooking!

What an incredible vacation. My only wish is we had booked longer.
When we started looking, our biggest requirements were on the beach, kid friendly (friends have a 1-year old and 3-year old), and great views. This house hit the mark on all fronts and then some!
I'm used to a rental having SOMETHING off, and just expect to find something in between slightly disappointed and exactly what the pictures showed. This rental was the rare time where expectations were simply far exceeded.
The views, especially from sunset on were the kind you just can't capture in a picture. The house had every kitchen utensil, spice and space you could ask for. The windows are massive and the bedrooms are a good size. There were plenty of chairs and the deck was perfect. To top it off the communication with the hosts was quick and friendly.
To be clear, the house was clean and the accommodations exactly what we wanted but this was not a luxury rental, so understand that you are getting a great rental at a very fair price, but you won't be living in a luxurious, modern rental during your stay. This is the perfect lived in beach house for family, friends, or a romantic getaway.
We will 100% be staying here the next time we visit the Oregon coast.

We love the on-the-sand location of this house, the clear view, the well equipped kitchen, pretty counters, clean decor, wide deck and spacious feel. It works perfectly for our small, 3 generation family and we want to make it a family tradition of visiting each summer the same week. This year was our second stay and I've booked it for next year, same week. Looking forward to it!

This location is unmatched. We don’t travel much but this was definitely the nicest place we’ve stayed at. The views are beautiful, the host was so quick to respond, & everything was very well stocked. Beds were comfortable, showers were nice, everything was just great. Highly recommend!

The views from this property can’t be beat. Absolutely gorgeous. This was a perfect bit of tranquility. Be aware that there is a rather steep climb from the upper beach where the house is located to the lower beach which will be difficult for aged family members. Layout of the house was perfect for us with the 2 living areas.

Third bedroom has 4 bunk beds, perfect for kids.
Nice open layout in the connected dining, kitchen and living room with beach view windows.
We’ve been coming to Kiwanda for years and this is the best house we’ve had.
The owners have been very helpful by saving the same dates that our other family’s rent their houses.

Beautiful View but priced too high
I expected top quality, due to the incredibly high price charged per night.. The furniture was old and damaged, tears in couch. The house was not well cleaned. You could not walk bare foot in the house, feet would get dirty. Fingerprints on windows, I cleaned them myself. Coffee pot dirty. Linens and towels still in dryer. House was beat up, not well maintained. Sand everywhere, outside of my car had sand all over it. On the good side. Beautiful view, games were great, great tv selection, loved the open floor plan, beds comfortable, soft blankets in living room, great kitchen well supplied. Todd the host for the house was great, responded immediately to any questions. We had a good time, but would not rent this particular home again at this price.

Amazing spot in PC
I highly recommend this rental. The views are STUNNING. Even on a high wind day we were able to enjoy the ocean and view from the indoors. The owner was extremely communicative and helpful. Rental was well stocked for cooking, s’mores, laundry, games. The only downside is that the master bedroom is one with its bathroom, which caused a little privacy issue. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to book again in the future!

Family Getaway
Best beach house I have ever stayed at. The views are spectacular! The house is right on the sand and you literally have a deck that goes onto the beach. So so beautiful. Bucket of sand toys ready for little one and everything you need for the trip.
I will for sure come again!
The only downside I wish there was a vacuum available since there was a ton of sand and the coffee maker needs to be cleaned out (inside where the water is). We used the French press and that worked perfectly!

Sand porch? Yes please!
My friend who stayed with me said it best: "There is nothing like being able to sit inside warm and cozy with a coffee watching your children just outside the window dig around in wet sand and having the time of their lives."
We rented during a partly rainy weekend. The sunny days were magical. Chilly because it's April… we walked and hiked all the way up the beach to the very steep hill. Excellent scenic workout for sure. Got coffee at stimulus, which is always delicious.
On the rainy days stayed inside and watched those adorable bundled up second graders and one year old dig around in wet sand.
We were pleasantly surprised at how well furnished the kitchen was. Usually at places like this it's a real mishmash of stuff. Seems that the owners probably spend time here and know what a family needs.
The master was an en suite with no barrier between the facilities and tbe main room. That's always a little awkward for me, but it was a small thing to take with all the other great stuff!

The house has the best location right on the beach secluded away from others. Everything was clean and had all the amenities needed. We received all the necessary information to get it and we were never bothered during our visit. We’ll definitely stay there again.

Amazing friends/family weekend
We were extremely surprised by this house. It's light and bright, the location is absolutely phenomenal, the house is extremely well stocked with cookware, games, movies. The beds were comfortable. We had a great weekend with two families and will be back as soon as possible!
