Had everything we needed for cooking indoors, on the grill, and roasting over the fire. Boat lifts were a bonus and made it very easy on and off the water for our boating vacation. Lots of room, beautiful view of the lake.

Wonderful, peaceful, fun retreat for my family group of 4 adults & 4 kids. We did all the up northy-things: pontoon boat, smores, swimming, toad hunting, cross in the woods.... It was wonderful having the waves soothe me to sleep. We enjoyed artistic details in the yard and home. Host was very attentive!

My family had an amazing stay at this cottage. It has absolutely everything you need for a perfect week on the waterway. It was clean, exactly as described and communication was great. Mullet lake is a great launching point to explore the waterway in both directions. We couldn’t have been happier. Definitely hope to stay again!

Wonderful week on Mullett Lake.
Very neat and clean beach house, which suited our needs perfectly. We used all four bedrooms, as another relative came down from Houghton for three nights. The house had a very complete kitchen with new-looking appliances. The lake is shallow for quite a way out, and is suitable for older children to play.

Great For Family
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The kids couldn't get enough time in the water all within eyesight. The large living space and huge deck made it easy to not trip over each other. And OMG...the beds were so comfortable! The week went way too fast, but they say that's what happens when you're having fun! The property manager was easily accessible and quick with responses to questions. We've reserved for next year and are looking forward to making more memories on the lake!

Fun, fun,fun
The cottage was clean and well stocked. The owner was easily available by texting. The view was magnificent. It was easy to access the UP and Mackinac island. My son and his family joined us from Texas. They enjoyed the cooler weather. The lake is so beautiful.

Spacious, comfortable with great views
My family spent 5 days here, enjoyed the lovely sunrises in the morning, biking and hiking the area nearby during the day and cozy warm fires at night. Neighborhood was friendly and the lake was great, so clear and beautiful! The beds were comfortable and there’s plenty of room for a big family, kitchen was equipped well to make big meals and plenty of space to prepare. Communication with the owner was fantastic.
The only negative things that we could note is there is no internet (we used personal hot spots which was fine, but not every renter will have that) and overall the place smelled like a wet dog. I think if they replaced the carpets that this would remedy that. Renters who are dog owners (like us) can overlook this easily but it could be an issue for non pet owners

Family getaway
What a great location! Beautiful water, Sandy bottom. The kids had to swim even though it was only 50 degrees outside. Nice to have a hoist for our boat. Cottage has lots of room for the family. We want to come again next year!

Great Location on Mullet Lake
This property was very well set up for guests. There was so much firewood which was great for Late August nights. The sand is incredibly soft past the dock which is great for water sports or just hanging in the water with friends. The owners of the property were fantastic and very nice. They made sure that we were comfortable and that everything was set up for us. I highly recommend staying here!

Perfect cabin for families
Great cabin! There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 kids. The 4 bedrooms were good size with comfortable beds. The kitchen appliances worked great along with the charcoal grills. The lake is shallow enough for the kids to play in for hours. Louise was a great host and kept in touch to make sure everything went well.

Wonderful and relaxing
The house is right in the water—we brought kayaks and loved kayaking in the sunset—the water was very calm. There is a big deck with chairs and a large picnic table (beautiful live edge wood). We ate all our meals on the deck by the water. Morning coffee was perfect on the deck! The owners were very quick to respond and helpful. There is plenty of space and all new kitchen appliances. Would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect Lake Location
We truly enjoyed our week on Mullett Lake at this Grandview Beach cabin. The cabin was well stocked and clean. All the beds were pillow-top mattresses, so they were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with a very large refrigerator. The gas stove was very nice, and the oven baked everything very evenly and quickly with the convection option. The dining table was huge and easily fit the 6 of us.
Even though there is no A/C, there is almost always a breeze off the lake, and with all the windows. There was also a fan for every bedroom.
The neighborhood was lovely, and all the neighbors were very, very friendly. This part of the lake was perfect for our sons to kayak. The water was very shallow, and you can swim clear out to the buoys. We also loved this location because it is between the lake and the "Spreads" in the bay behind the cabin. When the lake was too choppy to kayak in, my sons would just kayak in the Spreads behind the cabin, which never got choppy.
We saw all kinds of wildlife because of the unique location between the lake and the spreads. We even got to see a common snapping turtle laying her eggs!
John and Louise were very prompt at returning all my texts/emails. They were very flexible in extending their cancellation deadline due to the pandemic situation. Praise the Lord, the restrictions were lifted just a couple weeks before we came. I would highly recommend staying here for a great lake vacation.

Another great vacation
This is the 4th year in a row that we have rented this cottage. It is a great location and one of the few rentals that allows dogs. We love it here! I would give it 5 stars if it had air conditioning; it got a little hot inside the cabin this year but not too bad. We are already looking forward to next year!

We loved it!
We arrived by boat, from Oden, seven of us, and were delighted that the home was fully ready for us. Lots of room, lots of utensils, pots, pans, spices, chairs, games, sofas, all as advertised - even a tv (who watches tv on vacation?). Noted that the place is being remodeled here and there, but that didn't interfere with us enjoying it, at all. Lots of wood to burn for smores, big Adirondack chairs, ...and the loons fishing near our dock couldn't have been more perfect. Even the neighbors were happy to point us to the nearest bar-by-water! Louise was quick to communicate with us too. It's truly in the wilderness - It's the seventh house from the end of the road. Thanks, Hopsons.

Love, love, love Mullett lake!!!
This was such a great vacation, it won't be our last at this cottage. Very spacious living quarters with nice updates. Swimming area was great. Neighbors were really awesome. This side of the lake is nice and quiet. So nice that we could bring our dog with us! Nice sandy bottomed lake for swimming. There was ample seating for everybody in the livingroom, kitchen and around the fire pit.

Laid back week at the lake!
We just returned from our week at Mullet Lake - what a great time! The cottage is located on the calm side of the lake which was wonderful! The owners put in new living room furniture - comfortable leather chairs and sofas as well a new adirondack chairs in the back. The kitchen was a good size and had everything we needed. The cottage was great for what we needed - comfortable accomodations (beds were comfortable) and pet friendly. We brought our 5 yr old black lab and he had a great time jumping off the dock or diving for rocks (with his mouth) in the lake. The pictures on this website are true to what you will get (except the living room furniture has been updated). The cottage definitely met our needs and we would rent again! Since there are only a few tv channels available (no cable), make sure you bring movies for any down time you may have if you want to watch tv....we had perfect weather all week and spent all of our time outside - so very little tv. Our Iphones worked great at the cottage...

Family Get-Away
It’s been our family get away for over 7 years and we have enjoyed each and every year. Our days are filled with slow moving mornings, active afternoons, and relaxing evenings. The accommodations met our needs - simple, roomy, clean, and affordable. The cottage has a beautiful fieldstone fireplace and a picture window that looks out across the lake. Early in the morning I will sit with a cup of coffee, watching through the picture window in the living room the sunrise over the lake- it’s simply beautiful. During the day we spend most of our time outside swimming, water skiing, kayaking, fishing, bike riding, long walks, reading lazily by the water, or sitting by the camp fire enjoying conversation and cocktails. If it’s raining we’ll watch movies, play cards or games around the big table or head into town to go shopping. At night you are serenaded by the loons and the water as it laps up against the shoreline – it’s this memory of the loons and the water that stays with me, brings a smile to my face, and brings me back each year.

Beautiful location, less than desirable cottage
The lake, location and weather were spectacular on our vacation, but the cottage was not what we expected. The lake is shallow and perfect for kids.
The cottage definitely needs cleaning - not just surface cleaning, but deep cleaning from top to bottom. Furniture could use some updating - existing furniture on the screened in porch is broken and should be thrown out - we couldn't sit in it.
We loved the firepit and used it daily, but there were only 4 chairs, one of which was broken. Nicer adirondack chairs would have been heavenly - even new plastic ones would have been perfect. If a house sleeps 8-9, we thought there should be seating at the fire for that many.
We loved our week at Mullett Lake, but if the weather hadn't been gorgeous, staying in the cottage during the day would have been tough.

Average accomodations
The location and setting of the cottage was most excellent! It was perfect for the Indian Rv. and Burt Lake adventures. We really liked the boat hoists as we had watercraft and there were some windy days. The cottage could have been a little cleaner for my taste.. food -dust under the furniture etc. But he layout etc was nice and roomy. We had to call for garbage pick up left from the previous renters. I would say overall we had a very good time. Like I said we were on the water most of the time and I would consider staying here again. Oh, a washer and dryer would be an excellent addition.. I would probably recommend it to a friend.

Picture doesn't do it justice
This cottage may look small on the outside - but it was very accomodating! New countertops and cupboards in kitchen and a spacious dining table that easily fit 10 people. 2 bedrooms are near kitchen area and 2 off of living room - it was perfect for our 2 families - separate but still together! Had a couple issues ( dock ladder floated away in rainstorm) but the caretakers were right there the next day to help. House was clean. Good screens- no mosquitos! but quite a few spiders hiding out in the corners. We would rent here again!
