About this cottage rental
Come stay on a tropical beach in a charming cottage, only a short walk from Cockburn Town on the lovely peaceful island of Grand Turk. Breathtaking views, a wonderful beach, superb swimming, diving and snorkeling are right outside your front door. The combination of fun, informal restaurants, expert dive shops, friendly locals, and a relaxed pace of living makes a vacation in Grand Turk uniquely appealing. A trip to Grand Turk transports you back to the 'Old Caribbean,' before big hotels, high rises and crowds of tourists.
Located right on the beach, enjoy dazzling water views all day, and relax with a drink or dinner while watching beautiful sunsets. The beach has small tidal pools, shade and (usually) gentle waves. No need to worry about 'reserving a beach chair' on Grand Turk. Instead, miles of virtually empty beaches on the western shore offer a tranquility that is hard to find in the modern world.
This house is part of Island Passage, which has this cottage, a three bedroom, two bath house (listing number 3628761), and a one bedroom unit that is not available for rental.
The open plan cottage has a fully functional kitchenette, a large screened porch with a lounging and dining area, ceiling fans and air conditioning. The fenced in yard protects the landscaping from wandering horses and cows. it is literally a few steps away through your gate to the shade of the Casuarina trees on the beach. You can beachcomb and snorkel in front of the cottage, get picked up by a dive boat for a fantastic experience on Grand Turk's Wall, stroll into town (150 yards away) to wander down Duke Street, or rent a bike or hire a taxi to go a little further afield.

Perfect location with a quiet and beautiful beach right outside. Great for relaxation and peaceful getaways. Highly recommended for a serene escape.

My wife and I were looking a quiet time with friendly locals , plus beautiful surroundings. And we found it at the small cottage in Grand Turks. Everyday we were on an adventure from walking the beaches to going snorkeling, plus trying out local restaurants.

Extremely quiet peaceful setting right on the beach! Lots of friendly dogs on the property which roam freely on the beach. Basically no one on the beach except for the neighbor cruise visitors but they’re a ways away. Anita was very friendly and helpful arranging a ride to and from the airport. It was a great location to work from home at on the patio and I’d love to come back!

Great location. Snorkeling was top notch right outside our door. Anita was wonderful, handling minor power issues immediately. The dogs on the property were a problem. Although friendly and adorable the constant barking became a bit annoying. During the day it was tolerable but while on vacation we want our sleep which was interrupted multiple times during the night by the barking dogs for prolonged periods of time . We would recommend this property if the dogs were quiet at night and do realize this might be difficult to control by the owner. The outdoor shower was good for rinsing and the indoor shower always had great hot water and lots of pressure. Kitchen amenities were good, had good utensils and all the items that we needed to cook from home. Thank you for letting us enjoy your little piece of paradise.

This is truly a Gem. My husband, 15 year old son and I stayed in the studio cottage. From the beginning of our reservation to our departure Shannon and Anita were amazing. We had the opportunity to meet Anita and she was so helpful with everything and more! Ray and Liz that live on the property were the best. Truly an experience to unplug and reconnect with Mother Earths gifts. We will be back! Thank you all!!! 11 out of 10!

An amazing place to relax! Location in wonderful and the beach is 40' from the front door. We loved it so much last year that we came back this year and loved it even more! Communication with reservations/booking/rental info was fast and simple. Anita (caretaker) contacted us ahead of time and a few times during our stay to make sure all was ok. Ray and Liz (next door on-site) are amazing to deal with. They gave us our space yet said good morning every day, engaged in great conversation, and did little things like rake the beach or replace a broken chair just to make our stay more enjoyable.
Did I mention the location is awesome! It is a quiet island and laid back so if you want busy, all-inclusive amenities, this isn't the place. If you want relaxation, a great beach that often only has a couple of people on it at a time (about a mile long stretch), and enjoy island time, then this is heavenly! We wanted for nothing while we were there. We ate out some days and cooked on others. Rented a golf cart for the entire stay to help with getting groceries and for exploring the island (Paradise Golf Carts were great to work with). Morning coffee was in the screen porch or out on the beach. Slept with the windows open to catch the seas breezes and hear the waves.
Looking at returning again as this feeds our souls for peaceful relaxation and a quiet escape on an incredible beach!

We chose this property for the location right on the beautiful, quiet beach and its good price point; it did not disappoint! We absolutely loved the screened-in porch (but would just recommend adding some additional lighting for the evenings). Having bicycles to use would have been a bonus to made it easier to explore the island, get groceries, etc. Overall, a wonder spot for rest and relaxation away from the crowds of other Caribbean islands!

Falling asleep to sounds of the ocean waves was heavenly. Enjoyed the beach walks with few people and beach combing.

We enjoyed thiis property so much. The location, the atmosphere, the general vibe, not to mention the cottage itself. It starts with such a smooth and simple check in proceas. Of course the beach and the sunsets help too. We cooked almost all our meals in the simple but well equipped kitchen. When we. Ome back we are definitely staying here again.

If you are looking to get away from it all, this tiny little bungalow and near empty beach is the place.
Most every day I had some 300+ yards of ocean all to myself.
Ray and Liz, the full timers who live adjacent were super nice and helpful and made the stay far better than it would've been.
Make sure to bring mosquito repellent and grasp that the night life and food options on the island are pretty limited, which makes sense it's a tiny island.
That said if you are looking to just get away from it all and actually meet the locals, who like Ray and Liz are super friendly and outgoing, this is your place!

My partner and I had a very relaxing stay here. Both Shannon and Anita were very responsive and helpful. The cottage is centrally located to the dive shops, restaurants and stores so that we were able to largely walked everywhere. We found the kitchen quite well stocked and Shannon’s welcome packet particularly handy. Being able to step straight out onto the ocean was a big plus. We would highly recommend to others looking for a getaway cottage by the water

This was our 2nd trip to Grand Turk and staying in this little cottage. The location cannot be beat. The beach is indescribable, just steps away from the front door. The people are so friendly and willing to help. We explored the entire island, and I mean the ENTIRE island. There are a handful of stores/markets nearby, some restaurants and diners as well. The Osprey is a very short walk and offers a great menu, just plan ahead because 'Island time' is real. The Sandbar is a great little joint, and we were lucky enough to catch Quiz Night. We had pizza from Kitty's, burgers from the Sandbar, seafood from Osprey. The Ridge is exceptional, just make sure to call ahead.
The cottage is exactly as described. It's very small and quaint and exactly what we wanted. The outdoor shower is a nice touch. Make sure to shut the main gate or you'll have donkeys visiting for breakfast!
The coffee pot didn't work and Anita replaced it immediately. She is very available and willing to help. I do wish there was more comfortable seating, both inside and out, as we spent most of our time on the lovely screened porch, however when the tropical storm hit and everything got wet, there's really no seating inside, (aside from a rattan bench.)
Ray is extremely helpful. We learned so much about Grand Turk from him.
The cottage a gem and we can't wait to return.

The property was larger than it seemed from the photos. The owners had listened to previous comments and had provided reclining sun loungers and several choices of seats in the veranda area. There were very good quality saucepans and hot plates. The outside shower was very handy. The property was very well located.

This cottage is AWESOME. If you want the perfect place for R&R this is for you. Just perfect for a couple. Watching sunsets are the best. Ray and Liz are great. Watching the tourist from the cruise ships are entertaining. A must place to stay if you are in Grand Turk. Walking distance to anything you need.

Another great stay at “our” favourite beach cottage!
Everything we need when we visit beautiful Grand Turk!

Great location on the island for walking to most places... if you don't mind walking. Long beach walks were lovely and very quiet. Water was rough for much of our stay - but that was more because of the time of year. It's a simple studio cottage - as advertised. We had breakfast there but ate out most of our other meals. When not out and about we spent our time in the screened in porch! Went whale watching one day and got to swim with a mom and baby calf - which was quite amazing! Everyone on the island were very friendly - which we loved! You need patience dining out as the service is not fast - but the food is simple and very good. We hope to be back one day!

I can’t imagine a better place to stay on Grand Turk. The location, the unit itself, the lovely neighbors, the friendly hosts. Everything from start to finish was perfect! It was the heaven that my daughter and I dreamed of!

You can walk the beach and see no one 👍 The property manager is always a phone call away She is a very helpful person. If you want to get away from the fast pace world this is the place for you. ❤️

Best Beach, Great people
We gave the Island Passage 5 star because the beach at the property is the best on the island, and Liz and Ray are the best.
We spent 13 nights and spent most of our time on the beach right in front of the property. Hardly anyone there, maybe 3 or 4 people within eye sight. Had the beach to ourselves almost every day. The exception is when the Cruise ship is in. There is a place
that accommodates passengers a couple of houses south, but
they are only around for 4 hours or so, and stay pretty much right in front of the property. That occurred 3 times during our stay.
Liz and Ray were a pleasure to meet and talk to everyday. They definitely made our vacation better.
The house is small, but adequate for 2 adults. The bed was pretty good. You really would be hard pressed to cook meals in the kitchen. Barely any counter space, and only one 10 inch fry pan to cook on the induction stove. There were several other pans for other uses. The toaster oven didn’t work. Never tried the microwave, kind of hard to get too.
The VRBO pictured a grill, which was not there. We questioned if the house was cleaned before we arrived. The bathroom appeared dirty. There were old pieces of soap on the shower floor, a dirty sponge and stuff in the kitchen sink. No shampoo or paper towels,{4 rolls of paper towels were $29}, one small hotel size bar of soap. Didn’t really matter, we always bring our own soap and shampoo.
It is a great property with just a little effort it could be so much better. The yard has dead branches everywhere, old rusted chairs and there was a mop and bucket hanging from the tree that must have been there for ever.
With all that said, we definitely will stay at Island Passage on our next trip to Grand Turk. Can’t beat the beach!

Our stay in the cottage
This was an absolutely awesome stay!!! It was totally what was described and expected. This cottage is ideal for those wanting to get off the grid and forget about the world and focus on the “here and now”! We did not rent a car, bike or golf cart. All our needs were within an easy walk and we found no need to even Taxi other than to and from the airport. Our host, Anita, quickly answered all our questions, the Wi-Fi was excellent and what’s app work well for phone use. The beach was wonderful, as was the water and snorkeling. The only “wants “ would be warm water in the outdoor shower and beach chairs that lay flat. Neighbors, Ray and Liz, were wonderful as were the locals. This is a “must return “ kind of place for at least two weeks. It was awesome.

Magical
I am apprehensive to say what I really think about this property - because I am feeling very selfish and want it to always be available just for me!
Seriously this is a little gem. Nothing fancy - just what is needed is provided. Liz and Ray are beautiful people - best neighbors ever.
The one thing folks should be prepared for is the disarray that is Grand Turk. The government has done very little to help its people - garbage and wreckage strewn everywhere- with no planning in place. It is not true that there is no crime here. That being said, I NEVER felt unsafe. I just never let my guard down.
But the water is stunning and the people are lovely. And the cottage was perfect.

Sunset heaven
Perfectly situated, beach right through the gate, amenities all a short walk away. But very private, with a wonderful screen porch where we relaxed when we weren’t on the perfect beach, which was never busy. Outstanding communication throughout. Highly recommended spot. We’ll be back!!

An amazing experience - Perfect!
First of all I have to say Shannon is an amazing host. She knows how to make people feel welcome!
The place itself is incredible. I am at a loss as to how to describe it accurately. It is like beaming back in time by 50 years. Imagine sitting on the most pristine beach, with no one else there as far as the eye can see and witnessing a beautiful sunset. That is the only way I can sum this place up. We had some small teething troubles but Shannon and Anita sorted them out so quickly and to our complete satisfaction.
The practical stuff: amazing and deserted beach just outside. Welcoming neighbours. Restaurants and bars and some small shops within 5 mins walking distance. This place has it all.
I was worried that it would be a schlep to go so far for only 6 days. I was soooooo wrong. We went home feeling like we had 3 weeks away. This is an amazing place, with a great host and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Wonderful place on the beach
This place was fantastic! I can’t say enough great things about the house. She knows everything about the island. She can set up any excursions that you want. Set you up with a rental vehicle which I strongly suggest. Just a wonderful lady. Thanks Anita! And the property is amazing. The beach in your backyard. The place doesn’t break the bank and you get to stay right on the beach. If you are not looking for the all inclusive, pamper, luxury amenities, you will not be disappointed. This place has everything you need for a wonderful and affordable vacation. I will be back and I strongly suggest…

perfect beach holiday
Dear Shannon,
"If you are looking for a holiday on a deserted beach you have found it! My husband and I spent 5 days here in January and it was glorious. The beach is beautiful and empty and it is just a walk away to hotels for dining and dive shops for diving.
The cottage itself is right on the beach and is fully equipped including a fridge that will hold a week's worth of groceries. Oh and the porch is a fabulous place to eat, read and while away the hours. We will be back." J and J Jan 22, 2020

Wonderful place to stay
My husband and I spent a wonderful week here. The house has everything you need and you can swim and snorkel right out front or take a short ride over to Governors beach. We rented a golf cart from Omar and had a great time riding around the island checking out all of the sites. We can't wait to come back.

wonderful quiet beachfront location
This quaint cozy cottage is directly on the beach, within a short walk into town. We enjoyed relaxing on the secluded beach during the day, and the beautiful sunset each night. A wonderful place to enjoy the quiet beauty of Grand Turk. The Grand Turk dive shop is just a 2 minute walk, as well as a few restaurants should you want to dine out.

Stress Free Oasis
We where at the island passage cottage as a get away from the cold and snow. What a great time. Very relaxing, quiet and stress free place. Loved the sunsets every night. Really good places to eat within walking distance. Had to remember to keep the gates closed on the yard or you will have some friends stop by- wild donkeys! Ha! So funny! Wondering dogs would stop by as well so friendly. Fun when the cruise boats came in. Changes the atmosphere on the island but not really at the cottage. Floated on rafts every afternoon with a cold drink or two. Just walked through the gate and you are on the sand. Awesome!

Great little beachfront cottage
My husband and I spent a terrific, relaxing week in this small beachfront cottage. We had everything that we needed and enjoyed the beautiful beach, sunsets, and peace and quiet. Swimming or snorkeling right off of the beach with a little maneuvering between rock forms. We spent much of our beach time under the tree at the beach reading, relaxing and enjoying the amazing island weather. There are very few people on the beach and lots of opportunity to walk the gorgeous beach. The cottage faces west and delivers a gorgeous sunset each evening. Wifi was great and no TV available.... perfect!! We walked to restaurants close by and were very pleased with quality of food on the island. Osprey hotel close by has terrific bbq evenings and happy hour that we would highly recommend. Lunch at the Sandbar was another favorite very close by. We rented a golf cart for part of the week and roamed the island. There is minimal night life on the island but if you are looking for relaxation and to get away from it all in a beautiful location then this is the perfect place. My husband keeps telling me to stop sharing how much we enjoy it as Grand Turk is a secret best kept quiet!! Until next time...…….
