We had wonderful days, the view was breathtaking, the apartment had everything your heart could desire, the communication with the owner was excellent, the access via the private jetty was sensational. The Small towns within walking distance, an absolute dream to switch off for a few days and enjoy the time without the hustle and bustle. Thank you for your hospitality, we will definitely come back again

We loved our week in Porto Venere and this apartment. It was very private, whereas attractions, shops and restaurants, as well as hiking tours, were only a short walk away. The house was just like described on the website. Few others were in the house at the same time, and we were mostly by ourselves by the sea, and always with friendly and respectful people. The place by the sea is the most precious feature of this property.

We had a wonderfull time in this beautiful place. It’s a really nice and quiet place. We could walk to Portovenere, had our own jetty. It was nice to swim and jump in the Mediterranean with nobody around. We would really recommend this place.

Excellent appartment, well organized, easy and private access to the ocean in a very nice area. Highly recommended.

I loved everything about the place. The sleeping arrangements worked well for us. The view was so beautiful! Even though it was on a hill it was very close to the town and easy to get to by bus if you don’t want to walk up the hill. There’s a nice grocery store in Porto Venere and restaurants. We even rented a boat for 3 hours. It was definitely the highlight of our stay. I would love to spend a month at the house.

Beautiful place
We really enjoyed our stay at the Bougainville apartment. The house has a very nice terrace with a beautiful view, just like in the pictures. It was nice to go down the stairs surrounded by the trees and go swimming off the private dock. Bibi answered quickly to all our questions and gave all the information we needed.

Wunderbare Unterkunft
Alles bestens, wunderschöner Blick aufs Meer, liebevoll eingerichtete, saubere Wohnung.

Wonderful time at sea

Fantastic house with a great location and a stunning view...
We had a great stay in Portovenere. The house was perfect for us and we enjoyed the quiet location - but close to the town. The view from the terrasses is so beautiful. We will highly recommend it.

Ein Ort für Körper und Seele
Wunderbare Wohnung in toller Lage.

Perfect Location
Home owners were great to work with. House was set high up over water. We had our own private dock to swim off. A lot of stairs to water. Plenty of beds to sleep in house. The bus was located close to entrance. We could have used a few more fans as it was super hot. There were no screens in windows. A lovely vacation.

Leuk verblijf gehad!

Everything you need!
Bibi's home has everything you need as a home base for enjoying the Ligurian coast. We cancelled a day we had planned to spend hiking in the Cinque Terre because Portovenere and the rental were so inviting and comfortable that we preferred to hang out closer to "home." Our favorite things about this home were:
Located close enough to walk to "downtown" restaurants, shops, beaches, bars and historical landmarks
The private dock for sunning, swimming and speculating on what's happening on the luxury yachts anchored just meters away
Easy bus access to La Spezia for train and port access (we spent a wonderful day on a sailboat that docks at the Porto Mirabello)
Every convenience for cooking breakfast and simple meals at home, while listening to your favorite music and podcasts on the Sonos system
I would love to stay here again!

"treehouse' over the sea
This unit is within a multi-unit building.. however it felt like we were in a treehouse surrounded by trees and flowers with the sea far below. The view is a partial one - the best view is on the other side of the building - but you get great glimpses of colourful Portovenere and the many interesting boats and ships passing by. The decor is very nice with local art and shells. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedroom is as you see in the photos - a loft bed over the living room and twin beds in a row in the bedroom. There are no screens on the windows -there were a few mosquitos buzzing around at nigh
There are two flights of stairs to get down to the Unit from the road.. and many many more stairs to get to the sea. We were disappointed that the dock was not down until June and the rocks were too rugged (with sea urchins) to get into water without the dock and ladder. It is a 20-30 minute walk down the road to Portovenere and then of course a walk uphill home. We were disappointed that the local shuttle bus was not running while we were there. However the bus to La Spezia was running every 30 minutes and the stop is close (up hill) from the unit. The La Spezia Friday clothing/ household market was fun.
I would suggest you ask Bibi what amenities will be available (buses, swimming docks) before you book. Bibi was very helpful and always prompt with her responses. Grazie MIlle Bibi!

The situation of the rent, near the port of Portovenere, is completed ; the view from the terraces is magnificent; swimming since the pontoon is a real privilege. The apartment, , furnished with taste, is comfortable for 4 people. However, I allow to make two small remarks: a refrigerator with a freezer would allow to make of the ice (it is very hot in Italy) , some clothes hangers would be necessary too.
Nevertheless, thank you for this very pleasant stay in Liguria, we hope to return to the Bouganville villa soon !

Fantastic Place
This is just a beautiful property. It is walking distance from the beautiful town of Portovenere, and if you don't feel like walking back up the hill, you can take the very easy shuttle bus. The kitchen is complete, so it is very easy to actually cook yourself meals.
The dock is just magical to swim from, and there are so few other units in the place that we usually had it to ourselves.
It is wonderful to spy on all of the super-rich in their fancy yachts. The bay is truly a parade of the rich and famous.
My only "complaint" is the the bougainvillea is climbing a little high on the top patio, and it blocked our view of the bay while we were eating breakfast each morning. These are the kinds of problems I can deal with!
Highly recommended.

Quiet, delightful stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bougainville apartment. Located on the edge of Portovenere, the views from the terraces and the walk into town were beautiful.
The apartment's accurately described on the website and is very well and thoughtfully equipped (dishes, kitchen stuff, all sorts of basic house supplies, tourist info etc). The arrangement of beds wouldn't be for everyone (the double bed on a sleeping loft with ladder to access and, otherwise, single beds end to end). The light and windows in the living area were great - after days out exploring, relaxing on the comfortable sofas and looking throough the pines down to the sea was delightful. And so much to explore: we took ferries to Cinque Terre and Lerici, loved Portovenere itself and had some wonderful fish and seafood in the local restaurants (the walk back from the town after dinners helping to justify all the over- indulgence!).
Bibi made the practical aspects of reserving, paying etc very easy and straightforward and Mrs. Lucrezia (who met us at the apartment when we arrived) was exceptionally kind and helpful in settling us in.

Great location with a beautiful view!
My husband and I stayed at this lovey apartment just outside of the town centre in Portovenere. Bibi was very kind and left us a celebratory bottle of vino as we were on our honeymoon.
The apartment is bright and airy with two areas to sleep in. Unfortunately i didn't realize at the time of booking that the double bed was a loft with a ladder...and around the corner from the bathroom. As I wasn't keen on negotiating this in the middle of the night to use the loo, we decided to sleep in the other bedroom which has two single mattresses and is right beside the washroom. The kitchenette is fairly well equipped and the induction cookstove is amazing!
As the pictures show, there are lots of stairs to negotiate so pack lightly! About a 20 minute walk into the town centre, Bibi's apartment is in a great location as it is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The extra exercise means you can indulge in some gelato and not feel guilty!
The one upgrade I would recommend is some sort of machine that would allow you to play music on your ipod. The radio is pretty outdated and in such a lovely environment, it would have been that much better to listen to our preference of music.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it if you are looking for a more authentic experience (vs. staying at a hotel). Thank you Bibi! Jessica G. Toronto, Canada

Lovely apartment, shaded & great views!
All great, we loved it! Our favorite part was the pier with a view on Portovenere and with lots of interesting boats to watch. We had the luck that nobody else was around, so it was very private and romantic.

Great views but could use some updating
We loved the view and swimming in the sea off the little dock at the bottom of the steps. The living room is bright and airy, and the kitchen is adequate but lacks some essential cookware and appliances (some small pots with lids, a frying pan or two, a coffeemaker and a tea kettle -- not everyone drinks espresso). The layout is a little strange, with two single beds arranged foot-to-foot in the bedroom and a double bed in a loft above the living room. The beds were not made when we arrived, and the patio could use a little weeding. Also, there is only one, poorly functioning fan (it no longer rotates) in the entire apartment, so that those sleeping in one of the bedroom areas must remain fan-less (and mosquito-ridden as a result). I'd suggest the owner update the kitchen a little, buy some good fans (they're not that expensive), make sure the beds are made before guests arrive, have the place and outside area thoroughly cleaned (some areas were a little dirty) and provide more towels. We had only 4 towels for 4 people staying there four days. Otherwise, a charming little place in a beautiful spot.

Location, location, location; well, it doesn't get any better than this! My (adult) daughter and I just spent a wonderful week in the Bouganville apartment, and we were truly sad to leave this beatiful spot on earth. The apartment is spacious and very well equiped, you'll find everything there from the little rubber dingy to binoculars and toiletpaper. Clean, brightly furnished and we found it very inviting. Free wifi a big plus, and Bibi, the owner, had made a big folder with heaps of useful information & tips! And then there is the ocean. The incredible blue Mediterranean sea and Golfo dei Poeti right there in front of our noses. We never got tired of looking at the changing coulors of blue, from the silverish surface in early morning, to the deepening blue closer to the horizon and my favourite; the bright, azure - sometimes close to green - colour that during the day covered all of the Golfo dei Poeti. There must be 50 shades of blue in the Mediterranean sea! Fascinating! It's easy to get around, a 20 minutes walk and you are in the senter of beautiful Portovenere, and this is a truly enjoyable walk passing beaches, marinas, bars, restaurants and the occational spot of shady pine trees. If you're not up to walking just jump on the free giro-bus that passes Bouagaville several times an our. Portovenere is a charming little town with it's narrow streets, steep steps and not to forget the beautiful seafront. Walking up to the castle was a lovely experience in it self, but the view from the top really amazing! We went totally crazy with the cameras! My little tip: Move slowly when walking in the streets og Portovenere. Take your time, and take a good look around. Look at the front doors, at the windows, at the house walls. Look down when you're high up, look up when down. Don't miss out on the tiny, little piazzas, the smell of basil and bread, have a Limoncino and coffee, (espresso of course) smile to people and pet the cute, little black Boston Terrier outside the hairdresser. From Portovenere you can take the boat to the islands, the 5 Terre or La Spezia. We took the boat to Riomaggiore, from there there we walked the fascinating Via dell'Amore to Manarolo, jumped on a train to Monterosso where we had lunch before catching a train to La Spezia and bus back to our paradise on the cliffs. No hazzle, no stress, everything runs nice smoothly. Thanks,Bibi! Your lovely Bouganville home in Portovenere is a place you'll like to return to. Soon.
