Everything was good spacious room clean, staff were really helpful, breakfast was very good and the staff again were very nice nd helpful, would definitely stay here again
Noise from trains, but that's to be expected
3.3
The property was clean. They had a nice bed and the shower.
The location of this part of the property was so easy to find parking. What’s the worst thing you had to pay for street parking but once you were parked you had to stay or you would lose your space and not be able to park again. The area around is a little bit dodgy.

Location, cleanliness
Nothing

Typisch englisch: schmale, steile Stiegen, Schiebefenster und flauschiger, aber sauberer(!) Teppichboden. Nachts absolut ruhig.
Top Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!
Durchlauferhitzer in der Duschkabine für mich ungewohnt.
3.3
The room was cheap.
it was located near where we needed to be.
A parking pass was provided.
The front door to the property keep being left open which made us very nervous and the room itself was cramped with little to no natural light.
3.3
Location was excellent.
Would have liked a bedside light /side light and a better quality television.
3.3
Lovely clean room, a lot better than expected. Close to amenities, welcoming staff.
I had a room at the top, but this is just preference , everything was great. Only slight qualm is the only plug socket was at the bottom of the bed so my phone charger wasn't long enough and I worried about waking other residents to my alarm.
3.3
breakfast was great,it was the keppels hotel.location also good.
there is nothing else to say,we couldnt sleep in the room so we stayed at the hotel.
room 1 is too close to the kitchen where people are cooking smelly food.the dustbins were not empitied.didnt like the back door that led to the court yard.
3.3
it’s next to gunwharf quays
The room is ground floor, next to a kitchen, students living there cook oriental food in the evening and the smell creeps into the room.

Good location
The bin was full of rubbish upon arrival and there was rubbish under the bed. The backyard was full of bin bags filled to the brim. There was literal trash all over the garden. The room I stayed in was next to a shared kitchen for all guests. People were in there up until midnight talking loudly and playing music and again at 0100. I asked them to be quiet but it didn’t change anything so it felt like I had no privacy due to the other guests being noisy right outside our room.
3.3
The location and breakfast
The room was next to a noisy kitchen. The loo had been recently used and the smell was dreadful on arrival. The power points did not work. The outlook was awful.

Breakfast was simple but good. Unfortunately, it wasn't included in the price of the room so we had to pay extra. English breakfast we ordered was ok. Hotel is located in the center of the city, very close to the museums and other attractions like Spinnaker tower. Parking was also close by and quite cheap. Reception staff was quite friendly
Room could have been cleaner. There was a lot of dust around and stains on the wall under the window. Also, the cups provided were dirty. Luckily, bathroom was spottless. We were kinda expecting they will provide us with slippers. Another issue was that there was no curtain or something on the door in the back of the room leading to the backyard so there was a lot of light coming in during the night. Also, we managed to find only one program on the television, TV reception was quite bad

The location is perfect !

it was clean and provided toiletries shower gel
the location was under 5 minutes to the outlet shopping centre managed to get parking outside £3 for 24 hours
cheap to book £50 for the night
it seemed to be a HMO and room 1 was the other side of the communal kitchen which would have been noisy if there were other residents present.
the bed was creaky and the mattress needs replacing even sitting on bed it creaks.
the back door with a window in the top had no curtain so the street light shone in so wasn’t dark at night.
There was only one mirror on wall placed so low that you could only see yourself if you sat on the toilet with no mirror available to do hair or makeup
you can hear the trains rattling by
had the worse sleep ever as every time myself or hubby turned over was squeaky mattress springs.
3.3
The location was convenient.
The room was disgusting. The surfaces were sticky with bits over them. Under the bed was just dust, filth and old packets.
The bathroom had no toilet roll. The shower doors were hanging off and wouldn't shut properly. There was only one mirror with no plug sockets around it and it was placed at waist height and wonky so you had to bend down to use it. The lighting was horrible, no lamps and the only light came from a bright, uncovered strip light right above the bed.
When we went to find someone to inform them of the state of the room the so called manager came to see us. He barely looked at us and refused to come and look at the room or look at the photos we had taken. He was extremely rude and when we asked for a refund he just said no. We could not stay in the room and ended up leaving and going home. It was absolutely disgusting - STAY AWAY!!!
After complaining to Booking.com on the night of the stay and following up a week later - we are still waiting for our refund as the room was not fit for purpose.

Location is ideal for the town and for shopping
It was dirty, bathroom floor had pubic hair and hair in the shower. We were not going to stay but could find nothing else. Slept on top of the bed as bed looked grim.

Everything was perfect!
The young man at the reception (I'm afraid I don't remember his name) was very nice, polite and helpful.
The room was the right size, comfortable, warm and with all the basic. It was very clean and tidy.
The kitchen is well equipped, if I could only make a suggestion would be to add a microwave, it could be very useful!
The location is very good too, only 3 minutes from the station and from the shopping court.20 min walk from the centre.
I loved it. I definitely recommend it!
Thank you very much to the staff especially the chef that save my dinner 🙏

Credit where its due, hotel was in the perfect location for our needs. First time visiting Portsmouth so was great to be so close to Spinnaker Tower and the Dockyard. We stayed for 1 night during a weekday.
We stayed in the room on the ground floor next to the kitchen. Being connected to the kitchen I was concerned it could get quite annoying hearing other guests using it, but during our stay no one did so we had no issues with noise. Speaking of noise, I've read other comments complaining about the sound coming from the train tracks directly opposite our building. Wanted to point out that from our room, the passing trains were audible but by no means distracting or unbearable - so therefore not a complaint for our room specifically.
While the mattress felt thin and creaky, I had no issues sleeping like a log. Therefore no complaints on comfort, personally.
The breakfast was tasty and filling, so I'm happy that it was included with the stay.
Ultimately no major complaints... however, for the sake of those reading there are a few caveats that I believe are worth bringing up.
There was a very noticeable smell to the bedroom as soon as you walk in. I thought it was the smell of new paint but my missus didn't think it was paint... Either way, we got used to it and, like the creaky mattress, it didn't stop me from getting a good night's rest.
Think we had the same room as Trevor who recently left a review as we had the exact same experience. The bedroom did feel somewhat cramped as there wasn't any room to stow our (cabin sized) suitcases except under the bed - where we noticed quite a big pile of dust in the centre. The bedroom and bathroom were otherwise very clean.
If you're driving then please note that the process of parking and picking up your keys from the Keppel's Head isn't the simplest, but thankfully we didn't take too long to sort out:
We firstly had to find a free "1 hour no return" parking spot near the Keppel's Head on one of the side streets nearby to avoid having to pay for parking prior to paying the hotel for a £3 24hr street-parking permit. Took a bit of driving around but we found something close by and walked over to the hotel.
After grabbing the keys and parking permit we were given a map of side streets we were entitled to park at, which thankfully included the very limited number of spaces directly in front of the Old Victory. We walked over there first to check for any free spots and there was 1 left. So we legged it back to the car and drove back round to claim it! Had there not been a space, we would have needed to park quite some distance away and lug our suitcases through some very dark streets to get back.

Did not have breakfast. Bed was comfortable and en-suite was adequate.
Wi-Fi was abysmal, could not use. No bedside lamp or power sockets by bed. The only two spare power sockets was covered by the bed. Locks on doors are below standard expected.
3.3
good location and relatively good value.
room was a little compact, very dusty under the bed, shower doors need to be set up correctly to glide open and shut.
3.3
Nothing the whole situation was very disappointing and uncomfortable. Despite the cold the bed was comfortable but lacking adequate cover.
The room temperature when we arrived was 17degrees (seventeen) C, despite many calls to Reception to turn the heating on we were ignored so we had to go to bed in our clothes. We woke up to 9 (nine) degrees C and had to shower to warm up before changing into warmer clothes in a cramped tiny room. We reported this to the Reception in the morning and the reply was a chuckle and no further interest. Other problems, no mirror for shaving etc in the bathroom. Wi-Fi reception went off if you close the bedroom door, no bedside light - very inconvenient as the only light was a cold fluorescent, the bed clothes was arranged to be too short and was unable to pull them up, the sign outside said Reception at Keppel's was 50ft when in fact it wsd a cold walk of 500ft+! We cannot show pictures of the above nizding items also how cold the room wSad as these are facts easily checked.

Check in too far away. Really could be a fire trap. One way in and out.
