Our extended family just returned from a week in Villa La Palapa. Overall we had a great time. Airport pickup and check in were a breeze. The property was awesome. We used the pool everyday, it was clean and perfect temperature. The basketball court was underwhelming, with palms overgrowing the area. My 12 year old didn't complain. There were some small things, like an odd smell in one of the bathrooms, that were handled immediately. Like others have said, the staff were friendly, hard working, and just nice people.
We opted for the breakfast/dinner partial plan, with Carlos as our chef. This ended up being a ridiculous amount of food and was a perfect choice for us. Note that there is a separate chef rental fee in additional to the per person fe, which was not clear in initial emails. After reading back through the contract, it is in there in small print. We generally either skipped lunch or ate on the run.
The boys in our group played golf at La Cana 3 times and at Punta Espada once. La Cana is definitely not worth what they charge. I got times on the GolfNow app for a third of the price. They make you take a caddy, which for the first time we played seemed reasonable. The third time we played, they tried to send 2 caddies with our group of 4 to play 9 holes (we were in carts!) This theme of squeezing money out of you seemed common in the DR. The caddy master is a total jerk, he made us feel like outsiders because we were not "owners". Punta Espada is legit.

Without a doubt, our stay exceeded every expectation. The property is beautiful, spacious and easily accessible to beaches, the airport and many things to do. The infinity pool, natural wildlife, and food were, for sure, our top highlights.
Every need was looked after each day. We elected the food and drinks plan, which we would recommend. The staff were attentive to all our needs and were very responsive. Stig, Irving, Gleyds, and Francisco are top-notch—super friendly and gracious.
Our group of friends travels together each year, and our first trip to the Dominican Republic and La Villa Palapa will certainly not be our last. We would highly recommend any group—families, friends—to stay at La Villa Palapa.

Our stay was everything we hoped for and more! The house is within a safe, gated community that has absolutely beautiful scenery. The house is better than the pictures and we had plenty of room for 10 adults and 1 three year old. The house is well worth the price. There are several beach options but our favorite, that was a 5 minute golf cart ride, was Playa Serena. Gladys was so sweet and nice, she spoiled us taking care of the dishes and making sure our rooms were nice and clean. The rooms were a bit cold so if you run on the cooler side bring a sweatshirt for sleeping.

I celebrated my 40th Birthday with my friends a couple weeks ago and had the time of my life!! From the moment we stepped on the property, we felt at home and most welcomed. I cannot say enough about the amazing Villa staff: Deborah, Gledys & Irving!! They are the MOST kind, loving, genuine, attentive, charismatic and warm people ever! The trio went above and beyond to ensure that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were taken care of. It was not just the big, but the smallest most thoughtful gestures that truly touched my heart - from decorating my birthday cake because I didn't have time to go buy fresh flowers to place on it, to thoughtfully making lunch for us on the final day after our flight was delayed three times. The house was lovely, perfect and a slice of heaven on earth!! But the Villa team, will FOREVER hold a special place in my heart and the hearts of my friends!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The property looks even better in person. The staff at the property were the best. They catered to all of our needs. The chef Francisco was the best. The food was was great.

We really enjoyed our stay. We went with our 3 teens. The property was beautiful with many separate spaces, which is nice when traveling with older children. The staff was lovely and helpful, very considerate. I would recommend this property and hope to return!

I just got back home from villa palapa and my family and I are already missing the home and staff. If you are considering booking do not think further!!! It is even nicer in person.. photos do not do the house justice. I traveled with my 1 year old son and family and friends to celebrate my birthday and from the moment we walked in we were blown away by the home! The layout, decor and architecture were so unique. We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely staff that go above and beyond to make sure your stay is excellent. Melania, Irving, Junior, Stig and Chef El Piro make a great team. They play a huge part in what makes the experience so lovely. We will definitely return. Thank you!!!!

Beautiful property just as listed but even better in person. Stig was very helpful in providing information and helping us with transportation. Milania and Irving were always there and kept the property and rooms so clean. The golf carts were a huge plus !

Spring Break Perfection
We loved our stay in Villa LaPalapa. We were three families; 11 people and we had plenty of space. The house is exactly as shown, the golf course in back is beautiful, the outdoor living space is wonderful. We loved the golf carts and it allowed our teenagers to have freedom to explore and go to the beach. Although we also spent a lot of family time playing games and enjoying the pool.
However, the BEST part of this lovely home are Junior, Melania, Irving and Stig. Best staff ever! so warm and kind. Always ready to help but never intrusive. Junior’s cooking was fantastic and the house was always clean and tidy thanks to Melania. Stig was incredibly responsive to every request and so easy to work with. Our entire group cannot recommend this Villa enough. We hope to return soon!

Rented this villa for my Bachelorette. We were six girls staying for 4 days. The villa was amazing and clean. Pool and view was perfect. The housekeeper was so sweet and always available for us at any hour. She made us feel comfortable and at one point was our photographer ! We took amazing pictures at the property. We stood one full day at the villa without leaving just enjoying the pool. The golf carts came in handy, we drove the the resort restaurants and to playa Blanca. Would definitely stay here again! Property manager Alix is also great and always available via text. We had an amazing time!

Rented this villa for my Bachelorette. We were six girls staying for 4 days. The villa was amazing and clean. Pool and view was perfect. The housekeeper was so sweet and always available for us at any hour. She made us feel comfortable and at one point was our photographer ! We took amazing pictures at the property. We stood one full day at the villa without leaving just enjoying the pool. The golf carts came in handy, we drove the the resort restaurants and to playa Blanca. Would definitely stay here again! Property manager Alix is also great and always available via text. We had an amazing time!

Beautiful property with an amazing staff
Overdue review but this property is worth the time it takes to write it! The property is gorgeous and the staff take such good care of it. Just enough privacy for everyone in your group but amazing common spaces. We chose to get a chef for the entire stay and let me tell you it was the best decision. Milania is an amazing cook and I would book her immediately once you book this place. Don't look anywhere else STAY HERE!

Everything I hoped for...
Three generations had a marvelous stay at Villa La Palapa. The house was very spacious, comfortable and clean. I cannot compliment the staff enough. Melania, Irving and Junior (Carlos) are the best!! I highly recommend booking a chef. Junior prepared 3 outstanding meals with lots of variety. Stig visited every day to make certain everything was in order. All in all, a perfect “home away”.

Amazing Villa with an Amazing staff!
We spent Spring Break with our adult children and grandchildren at Villa
La Palapa and it was the perfect villa for our group of ten. The villa is
open, comfortable and beautiful. Irving (butler/house manager) and Melania (housekeeper) are there to make your stay even better. The villa manager,
Stig was incredibly helpful, as well as, Janet in their office. I cannot say enough
wonderful things about this villa. One suggestion I do have is to provide very specific grocery lists and menu ideas if you decide to secure the chef. We did this and never regretted having the extra staff and the ease of mealtimes.
Truly a relaxing and wonderful vacation! Highly recommended:)

Amazing family vacation
Our family had a wonderful week long vacation at La Palapa! The entire experience was first class from the moment we entered the villa to the day we left. The house and property are beautiful and well kept, and the staff is terrific. We loved the big family meals in the dining room, the infinity edge pool, playing on the sport court, and exploring Punta Cana on the golf carts. We highly recommend this villa and the entire team at Palmera Travel. Thank you to Anders, Stig, Junior, Melania & Irving.

Excellent staff, wonderful set-up for family with children with pool, basketball court and ping pong
My only remark is that the pool was clean but milky. My children were not bothered by the color, and swam happily.

Best Vacation Ever!!
This was my first time staying in a villa (I usually stay at all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean) but the experience I had at Villa La Palapa has me never wanting to stay at a resort again! I stayed her with a group of 9 girls for my bachelorette trip and it was everything we could ask for and more.
We chose to the do the all inclusive package and I'm SO GLAD we did. Junior was our chef and anything and everything we requested for him to make, he did, and it was absolutely delicious. Best food we've ever had, period.
Erwin was our butler and Iris was our housekeeper. They were both phenomenal as well. We learned that you can request your staff, and I would HIGHLY recommend requesting Junior, Erwin, and Iris.
Now, for the house itself, everything was immaculately clean and up to date. The rooms are spacious and the AC works perfectly. We never had a problem being too hot. You'll probably end up spending most of your time out by the pool, which is well maintained and the outdoor patio has a table and chairs, so you can have lunch al fresco without even having to change out of your bathing suits.
The villa comes with 2 golf carts, which makes it easy to get around to the different restaurants on the property (it's located in a gated community) and the beach. The beach is a private beach for the community and it's about a 10 minute golf cart ride away from the villa.
The staff from pre-booking to departure were all really helpful and attentive. If you're considering staying here, do yourself a favor and JUST BOOK IT!! You won't regret it.

Wonderful Experience all enjoyed
Our two families have such a wonderful stay. We had 4 Adults and 5 Kids 3 18 years old and 1, 17 and 1, 15. Before we arrived we had a great experience with Janet she was in charge of organizing our stay and she was awesome, She responded right away every time I had a question and was on point. Once we arrived we were picked up on time from our flight and a short ride to the house where we met Stig the house Manager, Jr. our Chef for the week, Melania the house keeper and Irwin. Stig was great helped us line up transportation and stopped by each day and felt like a friend helping us out. Jr. our chef was awesome let me just say that the kids had a wake up call when we returned home and there was no Jr. to cook for them. Everything was so well prepared. We did not really ask him to do anything he just made incredible dish one after the other. We tried Dominican Dishes that were out of this world good. Malania and Irwin also took such great care of us everything was clean and well kept we never needed anything more ever. The House was beautiful and clean and perfect for our party of 9 and could have easily had another couple and an additional kid or so with no space issues at all. I highly recommend this property this was a first class vacation and we look forward to returning.

House was fabulous! The pool and the outdoor space was exceptional. All the rooms were extremely clean and well furnished. The staff was extraordinary. We would easily stay at this house and location again.

Wonderful family stay
Everything was perfect: house is amazing and really crystal clean, the house has been fully renovated to make it new which we appreciated a lot. Maids are really helpful and doing everything to satisfy us. I also very appreciate Anders and Stieg services, it is really an asset to have somebody taking care of us during the stay.The resort is just breathtaking with 3 part-9 golf courses and amazing beaches at a 10 minutes golf carts drive. Our best family vacation ever in a rental home. We will come back before you know!

Fantastic vacation - too short! :)
Had a wonderful time at Villa Palapa during our stay week after Christmas. Melania and Irving were amazing! Stig was fantastic too with checking in all was well daily and completing grocery shopping, even last minute. The villa is spacious and well appointed and very comfortable - Melania and Irving made it perfect! Whatever we needed, they were on hand yet gave us the space and feeling the place was ours alone when needed. Very much enjoyed the chef service as well - food was delicious and always on time. It was also great to have the golf carts handy for our family as we explored the resort further and for golf. The location of the villa is perfect - lots of privacy with hedges, and with a lovely view of the golf course. The kids loved the basketball court and ping pong table - played lots! Thank you Melanie, Irving and Stig - you truly made our first family vacation in Punta Cana a most memorable one we will always cherish! We hope to be back before you know it! :)

We had the most wonderful family holiday at Villa La Palapa!!!! We had our 3 daughters , their husbands and our 3 grandchildren with us and everyone enjoyed the villa , the super food, service and surroundings. The guys played golf one day, we all visited Altos de Chavon, we played tennis twice and visited the stunning lagoons at the Ecological center. Most of all, the wonderful meals made by Melanie and super drinks made by Irwin made our stay super and care free. The villa is spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and has a Zen like quality. We all enjoyed the pool, garden and table-tennis!!! We will return as this was one of our most memorable vacations!!!!

Amazing....
In the words of my group that went 'Amazing'! The photos don't do this place justice. The staff was unbelievably helpful and courteous. Melanie/Irving & Stig : Thumbs up on making this a great experience for us. We enjoyed every bit of the accommodations and hospitality. Actually wishing we would have stayed longer on the last day. (Also our booking and communication back/forth and promptness was appreciated)
One thing I would ask ownership, ensure folks have group passes to the beach/other resort areas for venturing out. The folks at the Golf Resort & Westin were accommodating but made it difficult for us to enter.

Amazing!
Rented this Villa with 13 friends and it was absolutely perfect! Slept all 13 people comfortably. Only 2 people had to share a king bed. Definitely recommend getting the Chef, it ended up being extremely cost effective and the food was fantastic! Our grocery bill at the end of 4 days ended up only being $93 per person. We didn't drink their alcohol, we bought everything at Duty Free when we arrived. We didn't realize that there were like 4 different resorts all within our gated community until we arrived, so the golf carts were so much fun to ride around to the different resorts in the neighborhood and to beach. Had we just stayed at one of the resorts we wouldn't have had that and wouldn't have been able to see as much because everything is pretty spread out. The Butler and Maid were fantastic and they were so sweet. Would recommend this Villa to any family or large group of friends looking to get away. You wont regret it!!!!

Beautiful and immaculately kept!
We had a wonderful experience upon landing in Punta Cana no problems at all at the airport. Upon arrival to the Villa, Irving, Melania, and Steig greeted us graciously. The Villa is beautiful "the pictures" really don't do it justice. Very open and airy and super comfy with all the conveniences of home. We enjoyed the provided golf carts to get around the community in. The spa, restaurant and beach bar were wonderful and the staff there treated us like royalty. We were traveling with another family and never felt cramped at all. The ping pong table and basketball court was a plus for the kids. This was one of our top family and friend vacations. We will be back!

A Fabulous Stay in the Lovely, Gorgeous Villa La Palpa, Hacienda del Mar !!
Our seven night stay in the villa was nothing short of perfect. The villa is truly lovely-- the decor beautiful, the pool and grounds meticulously kept. Moreover, the help, Melanie and Irvin, were incredibly wonderful, warm, dedicated, honest folks that just made our stay all the better...And Melanie is a fabulous cook!!
I would highly recommend the villa and will return as soon as I can.

We are multiple time visitors (4 prior trips before this one) to Punta Cana Resort and Club and have stayed in Multiple homes. This house is very well laid out and tastefully appointed. The Staff Erving and Melania were the best in all our years and all our stays. The golf at Corales, La Cana and Punta Espada all make this a golfers dream vacation. There is so much more though: The private beach club , The resort pool, The ecological preserve with natural spring swimming holes, petting zoo, farm etc. and New Westin Hotel, Restaurants and of course the people.
The activities center being removed from the resort property was a change that impacted our stay that we were not aware of but we quickly figured that out.
I would recommend this resort and this home to anyone looking for a great vacation.

I cannot wait to return to this Villa. The setting is beautiful, the house is gorgeous (tastefully decorated and incredibly clean) and I cannot say enough about Erving and Melania... they went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Although the house is on a golf course, it is very private and blocked from the view of the course.
The house is only a five minute golf cart drive from several beaches, golf courses and tennis courts.
And less than ten minutes from the airport!
By far, my best house rental experience ever. Our group was a girls getaway but highly recommend for any large group (house and amenities would definitely be kid friendly).
Also, highly recommend both the chef and the chefs assistant who we used for a few of the days, the food was delicious and they were very accommodating.
My one recommendation for any visitors would be to make a stop at Duty Free to purchase wine or liquor on your way in... once you are in the resort, you pay a premium.

The pictures perfectly represent this amazing villa and the 2 best features are Melania and Irving, the in-house staff. They are friendly and anxious to serve their house guests and Melania can more than "hold her own" in the kitchen. They made our vacation truly one to remember. We can't say enough about each of them. The grounds and amenities are perfect and the short (5 min) golf cart ride to the beach was fun and enjoyable. Recommend the beach area and pool at the La Cana Clubhouse and Spa. You must go to the large fresh water lagoon in the ecological reserve for a chilly dip in the clearest water you can imagine. Look into getting a rental car because the taxi service is expensive. Golfers paradise, both of the golf courses in Puntacana Resort are fabulous but a real treat is Punta Espada about 20 minutes away. You'll love it!! I would highly recommend this villa and look forward to the day we can return.
