Good location, around 30 mins walking from city center, but there’s loads of buses around so you can basically go anywhere. You can pay the buses using contactless payment which is great. Also there’s a great plant-based restaurant connected to the hotel. Staff super nice, friendly and helpful.

Great breakfast and location, walking distance to main places

The beds are very comfortable and gave a good nights sleep. The shower was great, proper shower, not a shower attachment to a bath, and not a dribble of water as is common in hotels. Nice and powerful, you can just a shower, a massage shower, or at maximum an exfoliation shower! :-)

Breakfast was OK, there certainly was enough, with buffet service. It could be improved though: proper sausages rather than Lorne sausage, and need better coffee. On the positive side the breakfast room was spacious and well decorated and the staff were very pleasant and helpful

Electrics were shorting out, the lamp started buzzing and I had to unplug quickly as it sounded like it was about to bust a fuse.

Pleased with my stay. Booked a single room. However, im pretty certain the bed was a small double which was a plus. Close to many shops and restaurants. The bus stop being so close was a massive bonus. Clean room and tasty breakfast.

We had 2 stays, a standard room at the rear which was delightful, quiet and comfy. The second stay was in a four poster room, more space but we preferred the standard room.

The staff were efficient but cool, not offering anything extra. We stayed at other hotels in Scotland including Glasgow where the staff bent over backwards to be helpful.

Everything was fine during my stay, however at around 8.30am of the morning of checkout (check out was at 11am) a front desk staff member briefly knocked on my door and entered without permission. He apologised and swiftly left without explanation for his visit. I found this disconcerting as check out was not until 11am and not long before this I had been in the shower and getting changed. This is a massive invasion of privacy and makes me concerned there have been other times staff (non-cleaning) have let themselves into my room without me being there, especially since on the previous days I had left my room before 8.30am for work and stayed out all day. I had intended to stay at the hotel again during another trip to Scotland in February, however after this incident I don’t feel safe to do so. I emailed the hotel directly to address this invasion of privacy however they didn’t even care to acknowledge my email and I haven’t heard back from them since - it’s been 2 weeks since I checked out.
