Lovely location in the centre of town, fitted out with everything you need in room (good bed, shower and kettle) and really great staff. Breakfast was great (full english, perfect, but had a great range on menu) and overall gave you everything you need for hotel in the area - will stay again!

The food here was exceptionally good. The staff too were incredibly helpful and kind. Fascinating building and history. I stupidly left an article of clothing behind and they posted it the next day.

There was nothing not to like as far as I was concerned

The food and atmosphere was very good. Top rate hot chocolate. Good walking and cycling area. Garage available for cycle storage.

A little tatty around the edges but you had to look closely to notice. No hand soap in the bathroom but lots of other accessories.

Only standard size beds, for the price I would expect king size . Rooms overlooking the square can be noisy if the square is busy as no double glazing.

The room was comfortable and spacious and I had a nice view overlooking the back garden. The breakfast was really nice and well presented. You had a good choice and again the dining room was spacious and comfortable. I loved the outdoor garden where the seating captures the last of the evening sun, a nice space to just sit and enjoy a drink. The evening meals looked good but I had enjoyed a late lunch so I didn't eat that night.

I was more than happy with my stay and looking at prices generally, I guess this is what you expect to pay. I have not stayed in a hotel in this country for a 2-3 years and I was hoping to find something closer to £60 for one night. The price was more than I wanted to pay but since it was a last minute decision to split my journey, and not a great deal was available.

Great shower which was really powerful and refreshing. The bed was comfy and the full breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and the pub had a good atmosphere. Food in the bar and restaurant is the same and very tasty. Not the cheapest of meals but still reasonable value for money. A good selection of beers and guest ales.

Wardrobe space very limited for two people who would be staying longer than one night

Lovely peaceful setting, quirky old building and very comfortable room - Y Talbot was just the short break we were looking for. The restaurant also comes highly recommended.
