Proper hotel with all rooms overlooking an established park with beautiful tall trees. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious. Nice private balcony. Short walk into the edge of the old town where the activities, restaurants and cafes are. The cleaning staff attended the room every day. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Supermarket adjacent to hotel. Ayamonte is trending to good food offerings, the best being reservation only, as well as many great cafes with interesting tapas and full lunch menus.

The WiFi in my room on the 3rd floor was intermittent, iPhone often was ok but my iPad never in 5 days reached a level where it could be used, thus preventing me from working. My first 2 days were on the 1st floor where both did work. Hot water in the shower was often not available in the mornings, but usually ok in the afternoons. The only chair in my room was a cheap and very uncomfortable one, which was a shame especially compared to the elegant, comfortable ones in the hallways. So, this didn't work for me during the long siestas. I could find no terrace bar for a drink, as advertised. The hotel, other than a vending machine with a few items, had no facilities other than its rooms and helpful receptionists. This is based on a week's stay. For those needing one night, these concerns may not apply.

The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable.

Being a hotel I would now expect a fixed hairdryer in the bathroom, which there was not,

Good location, cafe, bar and food However, the receptionist was brilliant For complicated reasons by passport was catching me up in the post so didn’t have one when I booked in. In the morning I was trying to get my bicycle brakes fixed, and the receptionist also worked in bike shop, so although, in theory, they couldn’t do it that day, he had me fixed in half an hour. What more can you say about good service!!

This hotel has reasonably sized comfortable rooms with balcony's. The rooms are a little dated but I have always found them to be clean and pleasant. The hotel has limited facilities, but this is not an issue since it is a five minute walk to the centre of Ayamonte where there are many places to have breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The separately run cafe on the ground level could have better breakfast and upgrading the quality of the coffee would be a big improvement. However, I guess this is not within the control of the hotel.

Location

The advertised cafeteria was closed so there was nowhere to get breakfast. There was a cafeteria about 200 meters away on the opposite side of a busy road. My wife walks with difficulty so this wasn’t very satisfactory. If we had known the situation, we wouldn’t have booked.

Very good covid protocol. Clean and wide room. We enjoyed our stay.

Electricity plugs in the room could be better distributed, but that’s a minor detail.
