If you want a quiet, clean place to stay, this is the only hotel for you.
First of all, let me say that it is a bit far from the center of the town. However, it is only a 20-minute walk to the lake, so it is a light walk, and a tuk-tuk will get you there in no time, so personally, the distance was not a problem.
Hotel el sol is a very clean hotel. I have lived in the U.S. and Japan for a long time, and this cleanliness is unparalleled at this price. And at night you can sleep well because of the quietness of the surroundings. (Hotels in the center of town are noisy with cars and people.)
The owner is a Japanese who has lived in Guatemala for over 20 years and is very kind and of course speaks perfect Spanish, etc.
I woke up in the morning, took a leisurely walk to the lake, and after enjoying the town center, returned to the inn for a good night's rest. I guess this is what vacation is all about.
I will definitely visit again when I come to Panajachel.

This is by far the cleanest hotel in Latin America. It’s not even close. The owner was friendly and the property had everything needed for a comfortable stay.
It would have been nice to have an outside sitting area. The location is quite removed from restaurants and activities, but it is mentioned as do in the description do we can’t fault them for that. Just an observation.

The bathrooms were clean and spacious! The rooms were great and beds were clean and comfortable. Staff was wonderful and spoke English/Spanish.

The kitchen was not usable during my stay, they said due to inflation on gas prices. Understable, hopefully they will open it again in the future

It was very clean and quiet, the dorm beds have curtains. They do offer laundry service. You can also wash your clothes behind the house and hang it up there. The shower was warm.
No kitchen, no nice hang around area for sitting outside the room.

I only give a 9 for the location as it’s a bit of walking from the Main Street which we don’t mind because it was very quiet but it’s something to consider when you stay there. there is also coffee and tea in the reception and they offer breakfast for extra fee.

The beds are made daily, with a new towel, new soap. (new sheets?). The comparted dormitories with curtains are nice. The bathroom and shower are super nice.
The windows curtains are too thin. We need obscurity to sleep.

The hotel is very clean. The room is cleaned and towels/bins changed daily. The hotel has free coffee/Tea and cold drinking water. The shower has some warm water.
It is a bit too quiet, and the vibe is a bit off with blue lights in the hallways at night. Textiles and carpets on chairs and tables in the room seems excessive.

The owner is very friendly and is literally jumping to help you. The place was very clean and there is plenty of privacy.
Not really any facilities besides a bed and shower but that is to be expected at this price. The location is somewhat far from the centre but you know that in advance of course.

lovely location away from centre offers quiet & calm environment. everything was very clean & as described. hot water, ample blankets & a fan provided. windows open with screens & beds were comfy. friendly hosts & lots of room.

The Place is very clean and the Staff is adorable. For this price it is one of the best accomondations arround lake Atitlan.
The WiFi is stable but very slow and the hotel is a bit outside of Pana.

Very clean, the room were nice and comfortable for that price and we slept well
the shower is a good temperature and pressure is alright even though it was concentrated in wone point and not diffused
The owner let us use the kitchen when his employees or himself did not need it which was very appreciated
a bit far away from the center, even if we knew that! However we walked back there even during the evening and did not feel unsafe
We stayed 2 nights and the day after the first night, someone went to our room to clean up and make the bed, it is very nice but it would be good to be told in advance in order to pack our belongings a bit
