Fjordside Lodge is well maintained and has an outstanding garden with nice panorama seating places. A well situated lodge for activities both on the water as well in the mountains.

We loved our stay at that place. The host, Rita, is a very friendly, helpful and creative person, giving great advice for things to see and do in that area. The lodge is located directly around a large lake with an amazing view on the surroundings. We ate every morning outside on the terraces, which are accessible by all guests, enjoying the beautiful nature. There is also the possibility to use two barbecue facilities, where again we were friendly supported by Rita and her husband and can only recommend to use by other guests. Furthermore, Rita even organizes free fishing trips with a local fisher which are for free and probably a great trip for people who want to enjoy fishing in that area. We didn't use that offer though, since we are vegans. Thank you Rita we really loved our stay and enjoyed Norway very much. The location itself is convenient, only 20 minutes from Bergen city by car, 30 from the airport and 5 minutes from 2 supermarkets. However, a car is a must have in that area in our opinion.

There are different apartments, of different sizes there. We had the cheapest and smallest one (which was still around 150/night). It was quite tight there, everything is kind of optimized. The bedroom and bed are improvised, as the feet are basically below a wall. Nonetheless, we slept well enough there. In the restroom you cannot sit straight it if you are above 1,80 as me, since your knees collide with the door. There is also no dishwasher in the kitchen, which was okay for us but may be expected. We think altogether it is a bit pricey for the things the apartment offers, but Norway in general is not that cheap, so it was still okay in that regard.

Our stay at Fjordside lodge was excuisite! Everything was perfect, from the smallest detail as of the grass length to the beautiful cottages. It was a peaceful place, just as if we were in some fairy-tale land. Our host Rita was very kind and gave us a nice welcome, and also consulted us of different possible activities. It was very tidy and clean. All the utilities were complete. This place is definitely the place to visit if you wish to explore norwegian nature. We are definitely coming back.

The apartment was not clean with used bottles under the bed and used socks in the bedroom. It is NOT worth the money. Dark apartments in the cellar. Host wants to sell you her stuff when you arrive instead of showing you your room. When you have troubles, she does not want to help you. Only interested in money, not in helping you having a good stay.
