This hotel has a wonderful location but it lacked in cleanliness. We realize that the hotel was under renovation; however, there was dirt and materials all over the floor. We believe the staff could have tidied up for the weekend guests. It was very disappointing. Also, the room was spacious but the bathroom was small; the shower leaked because the shower curtain was too short for the stall--could be an easy fix. Breakfast was very good; the staff person was responsive and kind. The experience was a mixed bag.

The entire stay was pretty good. We had an issue with a smell of something burning. And the management wouldnt call the fire department.

Good hotel, not a great parking situation. It appeared that disabled parking spots had been moved further from the front door to make room for electric vehicle charging. Not sure how this can be up to code.

Always my favorite HIX when we go up to the St. Joe area. Always clean, quiet and convenient. Soon it will be updated and made even a better place to stay!

This is an older property. Some carpeting has been updated, but it definitely needs some updating and repairs. There were large chunks of missing veneer on the refrigerator/tv cabinet and in the elevator. There was some mold in the upper corner of the shower. The shower drain was clogged.

Went for a fall family weekend. Given the price and the 9/10 ratings, we were disappointed. Place looks like it has been lived in hard with not enough reinvestment. Back door lock was nonfunctional from outside, ceilings stained, bathroom needed caulking, bed covers under mattresses stained, hot tub jets barely worked. Service took the wash rags on 2nd day and didn't replace. I've stayed in worse but not at this price.

Staff was great but the property is very run down. Had to go to 3 different ice machines before I found one that was working. Easy chair in my room had a replacement seat cushion on it which was uncomfortable and did not match the chair. Furniture throughout the property were old and warn down. Hotel REALLY needs to be updated. And the coffee in the breakfast room was the worst I’ve ever had.
Desk clerk, on the other, could not have been nicer or more helpful.

Positives:
The breakfast staff endured all patrons were taken care of. First time I have experienced hospitality during a continental breakfast. Best water pressure in the shower. Within 10 minutes to 3 popular beaches (Silver, Tiscornia, Jean Clock)
Negatives:
The king suite lakeview room was not worth the money paid (ours had a powerline right in front of the view). The room reeked of Marijuana (nonsmoking room), very dusty, floor didn't appear to be swept, black mold in the shower, oil staining on the headboard of the bed, furniture had gouges/damage, and cracked upholstery on chairs. We bought cleaning supplies/air fresheners/bed sheets/towels and wiped down things to make us feel more at ease. Still waiting to here from management (over a week).

Old outdated. Breakfast was not good and poorly stocked. Juice machine was broken with no alternative offerings. Mold in shower. Lock on balcony sliding door was broken. Attached restaurant was overpriced and food was average.

Property was clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful. Suite with bunk beds for kids was great! Very close to town and attractions. Breakfast was good, but pancake and beverage machines were down while there so that was a bummer. Also indoor pool wonderful given mixed weather minimizing beach time. Would definitely stay here again!

I really did like that the rooms were spacious with kitchenette and a balcony, the hotel was just minutes from the heart of town. I however did not like the bed, it was not very comfortable, we woke up very sore in the mornings…..then attempted to go to the pool and hot tub and they were filthy and the area looked to be in disrepair and in need of a maintenance worker! Overall it was just average

Hotel was very clean and room was spotless. Our toilet acted a bit funny and we had trouble getting into our room with our room key card a few times, but the front desk was helpful with both situations. Check in/out was easy. Short distance to the silver beach area was great.

The hotel had a lovely view of Lake Michigan! Free breakfast, a pool, and a hot tub were a great combination for a family with children. I especially enjoyed the patio area located outside of the pool area.
The bathroom could have been cleaner, but the overall cleaniness of the room was acceptable.

The hotel is convenient and close to silver beach. Was disappointed in the smell of the room. Also it wasn't very clean. Spots on sheet,dirty bathroom

We liked that it was right by the water with a good view, and it was very quiet in our room. The room we were in was spacious. Much of the furniture was older and beat up. The bed was not comfortable. The bathroom needed an update. The shower was a walk in with a curtain not long enough to catch the water, so water went everywhere. There was mold and mildew around the tile outside the shower. Also, both tv remotes did not work properly. Was a little disappointed because of how much we payed. It wasn’t horrible, but could have been better.

When housekeeping did not come after our first night I called and was told they were booked to capacity and I had to call and request so I requested for housekeeping to come after our second night and we only got towels. Never was the bed straightened or floor swept (near beach and sand was traced everywhere in building). For the nightly rate, I expected more.

The property was very clean, staffing was friendly, breakfast was good and staffing kept up with replenishing as needed.
Traveling alone for the first time in 55 years and I felt very safe and secure.

Great distance from the beach! Breakfast area was well stocked and pool area was clean. As a suggestion, it would be great to have a water bottle refill station.

Clean and comfortable rooms/beds. Nice lake view. Breakfast was great. Kids loved the chocolate milk. The pool and hot tub were nice. Lots of stocked vending machines for snacks and drinks around the hotel. Laundry facility available and appreciated!

For the price it was worth it was not good. There was a yapping dog the whole night and building doesn’t even allow dogs. Kids running up and down hallways. They had no extra pillows available either. Breakfast was fine just your average hotel food. Wont be returning.

Outside balcony needs swept and cobwebs, cigarette butts picked up. Clogged drain cleaned after water would not go down in an acceptable time. Over all a good visit.
