Bed linens smelled of cigarette smoke (non smoking room), AC was all or none, freezing or burning up, shower was cold, was clean-ish.

I was staying at the Holiday Inn South Lubbock to attend my Grandsons football tournament. When arriving at the hotel I was greeted by a less than enthusiastic customer service representative who, when I asked him to smile, answered "I only smile when I feel it's necessary". Whie I feel it's not part of their job to make me feel welcomed when arriving, they could make me feel like they give a crap about my stay, because it really foreshadowed the rest of the stay. Since I was coming to see my grandchildren I was hoping to be able to let them come over to play in the pool, however the indoor pool and spa where out of service. My room had issues as well. The toiletries were all empty, the toilet paper was empty, the room wasn't very clean and the hot water was, well...Warm. Since there was a College football game in town other hotel rooms in town were hard to come by and since i had already booked this room and checked in I wasn't sure if I would be able to re-book another room and get my money back for this one. The continental breakfast included with the room was ok, but not great. Coffee was good though. All in all....NEVER STAYING HERE AGAIN!!

Over all it was nice and you can tell it's been recently upgraded but the rooms could be cleaned better. They definitely need new linens, towels,pillows blankets are a really thin.

The room was OK. People very polite. Like most hotels I come across, the refrigerator didn't work that good. The mattresses were a bit hard.

Our check in was awful and Savanah was working the front desk. I’ve never had a ruder greeting at an establishment. She should not be the face of any business. I didn’t feel welcome and unfortunately it put a bad taste in our mouth immediately making it hard for us to see anything else about the property. The breakfast was good and beds were comfortable.

It was a convenient place to stay based on why we were there. Parking was good. But the carpet was sticky in the room. So disgusting. The bedding was extremely dirty smelling like men’s cologne. The shower was rusted and the room smelled like mold. No hot water only warm. And no water pressure. A/C worked well the the halls of the hotel were very hot! Front desk we had to always wait a while for someone to come to the desk. Mini fridge wasn't cold. The next time we go there will will not be staying there.

Nice hotel but terrible check-in. Waited at front desk for 15-20 minutes before receptionist showed up. This was during prime time near 6pm. Five other guests waiting in line by the time receptionist showed up. I even called the hotel phone number and no one answered.
Receptionist texted me with a link and rudely told me to fill out the online forms and submit a photo of my driver’s license. Last thing I want to do after driving all day is deal with a bunch of bureaucracy. Poor service.
This was way beneath Holiday Inn Express which are usually excellent.

The person at the front desk (Savannah) was not welcoming and her customer service skills were horrible. The hotel had recently implemented a check in policy requiring me to fill out an electronic link with all of the same information I had provided when I booked the room. I requested to speak with a supervisor when the font desk person would not resolve our issue, but she refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor. The room was fine, but the staff was terrible. I spoke to a supervisor the next day when checking out, but his willingness to resolve the issues we had were not any better than the original front desk person.
I would NEVER stay at this hotel again.

We arrived late after a very long drive. The night staff person was not very friendly. We traveled with a family of 5, when asking for three additional sets of towels I received three large towels only. The next morning, we asked for the additional towels and morning staff gave them to us with no problem. Morning staff was friendly.

Property canceled the reservation without informing us after the refund window closed. They charged us for two rooms, the place smelled like garage, the service was terrible. The concierge wouldn’t even look at me when she told me she cancelled the booking. Upon leaving my own review I found several other poor ratings for this hotel on Yelp for the same employee who literally scammed us. I will be contacting IHG for a refund for the second charge she made us do. She was stating policies for reasons why she canceled the booking that do not exist, and refused to show us where we could find these policies when we requested them. Upon us bringing our bags we watched her checked in a couple after us with no problems at all. It was giving racism to be honest. Expedia be sure to do your research on this property. As a platinum member I trust the ratings on this site which did not reflect the absolute trash service we got from this hotel.

There was no evening reception and the website said breakfast started at 6am. Breakfast started at 6:30 and because we were a few minutes early we were rudely asked to leave. When we came back at 6:30 am and said good morning the breakfast staff mumbled rudely. We did not feel welcomed AT ALL. We were an inconvenience to this hotel.

This room where I stayed had a dimly lit bathroom. The shower would not get hot and the shower head was corroded and water leaked all over the bath floor every time we used it.
Our room ceiling made pounding noises probably from upstairs guests. The window style air conditioning was loud but working but the controls did not respond. We had to call at 1:00 am to find out there was a wall thermostat.
We wanted ice but the ice machine outside in our hall was not working

The room was quiet and clean. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of hot and cold selections, the bacon was crispy, the scrambled eggs were fluffy.

There was no hot water in the morning. Staff gave us access to another room to take showers but the hair dryer in that room didn't work so we had to go back to our original room to dry hair.

The carpet in the 1st floor hallway needs to be replaced. There was a candy wrap in the toilet and the toilet seat needs to be replaces

Very disappointing experience. I booked a room with 2 queen beds. At check in they did not mention any problems. As I walked into the room with a tired family it only had a king bed with a pull out couch. The pull out couch mattress was paper thin and full of stains. They were out of pillows. No soap available at bathroom. The young man who was manager for the night tied to help but the whole experience was substandard.

They called in the morning and mentioned there was a leak. So they are moving me to comfort inn next door. No reservation conformation or cancellation. Tried calling 3 times , no reply. Finally got them 30 mins before reaching and got some assrance bur got moved from 2 star to 1 star hotel. Not a great experience at all.

We were put in a room infested with bed bugs. Front desk employee was zero help and the GM was unprofessional and rude. Overall cleanliness of hotel was poor as well.

Overall it was a good experience but someone had tracked in lots of mud and there were clumps of it everywhere in the hallway. Saw it the night we checked in and it was still there in the AM. Breakfast was good with lots of variety.

Really decent, nice clean place. Great indoor pool area with hot tub. The suites were very underwhelming for the price. Beds were hard and uncomfortable and our bathroom garbage was full of trash when we entered our room from previous guest. They have a breakfast buffet which is great for families but whoever decided to fill the omelets with easy cheese, my goodness, no.
