Overall, it was an outstanding experience staying in this property. To begin with , the host and the communication from her was outstanding. She was proactive and went out of her way to keep me and my family informed about changes and challenges around with timely and relevant information. What stood out is she planned the route, shared parking information way ahead of the time we were due, which made our visit, extra extra special.
The apartment itself is very well presented and is at a very good location for local travel. It was clean and posh. It felt like home away from home. Beds are comfy and arrangements for TV, Parking, Team/Coffee, etc. etc. was simply superb. I got more for the money.
We will definitely be back there soon. Thank you AL** for your outstanding service and for making our stay extra special.

Great cosy and clean room with everything you need. Black tea and a biscuit in the morning is a great way to start your day. Enough room to unpack your suitcase. I especially loved the desk with a mirror. All my questions were promptly answered. Highly recommend this guest house for your stay in Edinburgh.
No dislikes. It is about 15-20 min from the city centre, but it's easily reachable by bus. That way you see a lot more of Edinburgh itself by always taking other busses.

Communication with the host was excellent and makes you feel safe as solo traveler. It was very clean and recently renovated. Wifi works perfectly and TV as well.
The bathroom mirror has Bluetooth, so you can connect your phone and listen to music while showering!
Overall, I had a lovely time there.

August is always very busy in Edinburgh, so I was very glad to have found this place. It was a small bedroom, but for a city trip I don‘t really needed more. It was clean and nice, the bathroom was modern, I had everything I needed (Netflix included). There was a bus station right next to the Guest House to the city - very nice! The host gave me helpful instructions!

Close to the city centre, but still in a quiet surrounding close to a shopping mall. You can make yourself tea or coffee. Milk is available. Friendly and helpful staff.

The room was lovely. The shower was decent. The ambiance was lovely. I recommend staying here. Parking was easy! 35 minute walk from the Royal Mile or a 15 minute bus. Only draw back no fridge.
There was no fridge. So we were unable to refrigerate leftovers/groceries. This was a big let down but other than that, it was great.

We were there during a very busy time in Edinburgh, tattoo and fringe and rugby match. Uber drivers to center were slow to respond, but only about 15 minutes by Uber to center.

Great place in great location. Alia was an amazing host and took care of all our needs. The room and facilities were comfortable and clean. Was easy catching buses into town.

What a lovely guest house! Perfect for my first stay in beautiful Edinburgh. The guest house is around the corner from the bus that can take you to the city center. The neighborhood felt safe and comfortable for me as a solo traveler. The accommodations at Roost Hill are clean, comfortable, and accessible. My host arranged for taxis for me when necessary and wanted me to be comfortable in my accommodation. I loved the quiet room and having my tea in the morning before I took off for a day of adventure.

Bed was a little uncomfortable for us, 2nd pillow would be a good option readily available in room. In hindsight we should have asked for extra. Our fault not the host's as she let us know multiple times to let her know if we needed anything!
Perhaps an uneven step warning at the entrance gate as they are varying in height and my partner unfortunately fell at the top. Again, not the host's fault but worth knowing as we had our hands full and didn't see

Room space was incredible, and everything was clean when we arrived.
It is close to the city centre and you will find a bus stop 2 min from the house. You will also find supermarkets within 5 min of the house and will be very useful for anyone interested in doing some day tours in Scotland as we did.
Alia's attention and sympathy were greatly appreciated. She was always available to support us with our needs to ensure the best possible experience.
We highly recommend Roost Hill Guest House.

Excellent communication with Alia, the host. She always answered our messages immediately and was very helpful when we had a problem and had to go to the hospital. Would recommend the accommodation 100% and will be sure to visit again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable, clean, and quite. The place was close to multiple bus stops and also a shopping mall. The host allowed us to drop off our bags in the corridor before the check-in time, which was quite flexible.
The bathroom door did not have a proper door knob/lock, so it was easily blown open by the wind.

It was quiet and clean. I really like the code access. Didn’t need to worry about access cards or keys. I liked the door code handle mechanism. Have not seen that anywhere else. Really convenient
Nothing really - I had a single room and my own bathroom which was separate sort of next to my room. It had “private - room 2 only” on it but in small letters halfway down the door. So I was still slightly worried that others would access it but they didn’t. The sign should prob be bigger, more visible. But really otherwise it was perfect!!! :)

The location is very easily reachable from just about anywhere in Edinburgh, making it a perfect for exploring different parts of the city without a worry. The guest house itself is very nice and clean, the room was just what we needed for a few nights stay. Moreover, the host was available on WhatsApp whenever needed, we also got a chance to check-in early into our room as well as check-out slightly later, meaning that we did not have to stress on the day of our arrival or departure. Overall an amazing experience, highly recommend!

Superb guesthouse a couple of km from the Royal Mile. Quiet area well served by public transport. There is a shopping centre with bars and grocery shops within a few minutes walk.

Perfect place to stay! Everything about the guest house was just great. The host was very helpful, available 24/h and met all my needs, I was looked after beautifully. The room was spacious, very clean and well heated. I've had a very pleasant stay and I would recommend Roost Hill Guest House to anybody, will definitely come back!
