great location, not as nice as it looks in the photos. breakfast could be better

The fist impression of this hotel is that it’s a cute, boutique style hotel with friendly staff and nice rooms. This hotel though has horrible AC in the rooms. It was a very hot week in Miami so we understand it being a little less cool inside but that was not the case. You can’t control the temperature in your rooms and while the lobby was very well air conditioned, the rooms were hot! We had to ask for a box fan to be comfortable. And that only helped a little bit. When we wanted a reprieve from the heat, our room was the last place we wanted to be! We were on the 3rd floor (top). I asked other guests, from floor two and they mentioned their rooms being hot too. I don’t recommend this spot in the summertime.

We had to wait for a long time to check in as the lady at the reception was unavailable so if you are reaching there late, be prepared to be patient as the reception could be empty for a long time, not something you would typically expect at a South Beach Miami hotel!

No parking! They said they did in the amenities and did not. Other than that… it was ok…

Old building , poor elavator, old and worn out. Parking is far . No much to like about this antique hotel.

I don’t think the ocean view is really any ocean view. Rest are all very good.

Have stayed here before. Consistent small vinyage rooms but clean and comfortable in a great location. Will stay here agian in the future.

The property had a terrible odor ! It smelt like sewer. So we spent most of our time outside .. The rags and towels were super dingy we had to buy some. Just wasn't a great experience

the sea view room with a bedroom and sitting room seperately. Had welcome wine and just a 2 min walk to south Miami beach.

Juan at the front reception was amazingly professional and informative during my check in as well as during my entire stay of 8 nights. Housekeeping ladies amazing as well. Everyone at the Cavalier restaurant were great as well. Overall I had an excellent stay. Location was perfectly close to everything... I will stay here again. Thank you, Sergio G. Las Vegas. NV

Mostly mostly enjoyed our stay! My only reason for giving it 4 out of 5 is bc we had to check in at the front desk and return the next morning for vouchers for breakfast. Both times the only hotel staff guy was with the same mother/daughter duo (mom prob 50 and daughter 25) having EXTENSIVE CONVERSATION about idk what. He went to the back and offered them an umbrella to borrow the first time. It was a little uncomfortable bc it seemed flirtatious the first time and definitely the second we visited the desk. There was only one attendant. We waited patiently but IMO the guy could have asked the other patrons to wait and checked us in to continue the conversation. My husband and I were standing in line waiting to check in and the wait time with one attendant seemed excessive since it was not all business happening. I recommend this hotel but hope this guy is more attentive to other guests bc he certainly wasn’t for us.

Property is in a very good area and great tourist spot. A great place for any kimd of activities you are looking for. And a great spot very close to the beach. Very recommended hotel.

I love it here. This is my go-to hotel when I visit Miami Beach.

The check-in process was a nightmare the first night we had to switch rooms no AC second night water came through the ceiling on our head service was horrible shower was filthy as well as the floors. I cannot believe this after staying there so many times it has gone to hell.

Amazing.

No parking lot valet or instructions on parking. We had to park in a lot 2 blocks away & carry our luggage. After we struggled to figure out where we were supposed to park, because there were no instructions. The elevator is cute and probably original to the art deco property, but it doesn’t work half the time. The room was cute, but the a/c doesn’t get very cool and the small room was warm. The shower had no hot water. I can appreciate that they have tried to keep the original style & charm, but the rooms are small & the bathroom has no counter space. The stairwell & elevator are very noisy and can be heard in the room. We were told that breakfast was included and all we had to do was get a voucher from the desk in the morning. The waiters treat the people with “vouchers” like second class. You get a paper coffee cup while others get real cups & the service was almost non existent. We asked for water several times & finally had to go get a glass ourselves. Too bad for the wait staff because my husband is a really good tipper, but he was very frustrated. By the time we checked out we were so annoyed! The elevator wasn’t working again so we had to carry our luggage down from the 3rd floor & then 2 blocks to the car. I will never stay here again!

I really enjoyed the unique design and deco charm of this hotel. It was clean and comfortable. Accessible to all local dining, shopping and the beach is across the street. The in house restaurant was amazing for dinner. I will stay here again when I return to South Beach!

Loved everything about our stay! Great old hotel, cute old style elevator, nice stuff, breakfast outside and proximity to everything.

Nice little hotel steps from the beach. Staff is friendly and accommodating. It's an older building so the elevator is a bit janky. The breakfast was pretty meh but that shouldn't be a deal breaker. I would stay here again.

Our stay was great! And Phillip from the front desk was very comforting and accommodating. Because of him, we’ll come back.

Lovely hotel, helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Nicely situated close to beach, restaurants and bars.

The front desk customer service are not attentive

I reserved a regular room for one night. When I arrived Juan assigned me an accessible room. I didn't find this out until I went into the room. I declined the accessible room and showed him that was not what I reserved. Juan refused to provide a refund and stated they did not have the room I reserved available. Clearly they'd given my room to another customer. I even told the staff member, Juan, that I would pay the difference for the suite they did have available and he refused. When hotels.com tried to reach the manager/owner to resolve he/she was consistently unavailable. I hope the management doesn't provide a generic response to this review and instead simply refunds my $200+ . If you reserve a specific type of room with this hotel, call first and confirm.
